I contracted with a roofer, and when they came to do the work, it turns out the walls were not completed properly: there is no plywood nor wall wrap in the leaking areas (which is itemized on my contract with Tri Star). I contacted Tri Star to come and redo the work, even sent pictures of the problem areas, and called to make sure they received the photos. That was on March 12, and I have not heard back. Additionally, they took almost four times as long as estimated to do the work. And even then, the work was not completed as contracted, and I have now paid Tri Star more than $10000, and my walls still leak, and the work I have paid them to do is being damaged because the work was not done correctly. There are other construction companies in Denton: find one of them.

Within the first week, we noticed that one piece of tile by the stairs had been cut noticeably short. We immediately contacted the company and spoke with Victor. He stated that he would "try to get out to us to fix it," but mentioned he was shorthanded because a couple of his employees had quit. He also suggested that he could fill the area with grout, which we did not agree to. It is clear that the tile was cut too short, and grout would not be a proper or professional repair. Since that initial conversation, Victor has not reached back out to us. We are now in November, and there has still been no follow-up, no phone call, and no attempt to schedule the repair. He has already been paid in full. We reached out again by email, and once again received no response. This company has proven to be unreliable. My paid receipt clearly shows a two-year warranty. Additionally, when Victor completed the job on October 17th, he stated that if any issues came up, we should contact him and he would return to make any necessary repairs. That was untrue. He has not honored his word or complied with the terms of the agreement we entered into. I am not pleased with the service I received, and I would not recommend V&M Flooring to anyone for any type of work.

I never got a solid plan, they hard-sold me high, promising we would reduce it, just to make me sign the contract. (my first mistake) Of course, those meetings to discuss my priorities and reduce the budget, never came. My dream wasn't realized as they either vetoed, forgot or bumbled each feature of my design. Examples: I have a wavy wall, it took them days to correct the paint throughout the house, they flat refused to match my craftsman trim, they forgot my vented kitchen hood, vetoed my transom (they don't even know what that is), failed plumbing inspection three times and nearly blew up my house. (I'm not embellishing) Had to install the cabinets twice (ordered incorrectly and hung at the wrong height), the rough plumbing is so poorly done that the knobs don't sit right and turn lop-sided; failed to contain the renovation dust which covered even stuff inside cabinets and drawers throughout the house. The cleaning crew came multiple times and I still had to hire my own at a cost of $360, to get all the ceiling fans, fixtures, floors, etc. finally clear of dust and paint splatters. They scratched my hardwoods and damaged my stove. To top it off, they stopped paying the subs and one of them put a lien on my house, EVEN though, i was up to date on my payment arrangement. (Yes, that's totally legal, for some reason!) The drama continues as I need help correcting some issues that i don't feel I should have to live with. Because I live out of state, it was even more challenging to find contractors to replace my flooring and repair the walls that were ruined by the water. I reached out on Yelp and Rafael responded quickly and called me to discuss the issues. He was able to get me an estimate in a couple of days and, when we agreed on the scope, was able to get started quickly. Although I haven't seen the work in person, my tenant said that all looks good. When I see for myself in a couple weeks, I have no doubt that my expectations will be exceeded. The best part is that I was told that the work would be done within 7-10 days and it was completed exactly when promised!
