Not a long wait. Greeted by Kyle, the manager, who directed me in. Joshua, one of the technicians, showed me the options for my oil and was able to convince me to use the high end synthetic. All the technicians were in proper PPE. The bay was clean and organized. As my car was being serviced, it was noticed my rear wiper blade was broken. Kyle made calls around to local auto stores and was able to secure one for me. Not only did he find it but he had the store deliver it. Joshua informed me that after 24 months I would need to change my brake fluid and have a new cabin filter installed. Prior to this visit and as a long time customer of Jiffy Lube, I was unaware these were services they offered. Before I left, Keith, one of the assistant managers went over my bill and Joshua gave me a 50 dollar coupon for a hotel stay, which came with the purchase of the synthetic oil. My windshield and rear windshield were cleaned by Cody, another assistant manager. As a "tip of the cap" Kyle pulled up a YouTube video and showed me how to reset my car's internal maintenance "oil change needed" reminder warning. 5 star service. In order for me to get a Jiffy Lube oil change it requires me to drive 30 minutes out of my way. I trust the service at the Essex Jiffy Lube and will continue to use this facility. They care about the customer and give you trustworthy advice about your car's maintenance. read more

The Essex Junction Jiffy Lube is absolutely the worst auto shop I have ever used. When I asked them to remove some shell casings that mice had apparently had begun to build on top of the air cleaner, they instead pulled the cover off before removing the shells and allowed them to fall into the air manifold, which in turn, made the car incapable of running. I had it towed to another shop who opened the air cleaner compartment to finds the seed casings in the air intake area. The code read that the fuel injectors were clogged. After vacuuming the chamber out and some expert code work, the other shop was able to get the car running. When I brought the repair and towing bill back to Jiffy Lube, I asked the manager to pay for the repairs needed after their negligence almost ruined my car's motor. The manager would do nothing and told me that it was my negligence was what called the problem. I told him he was way out of line and I demanded that he give me a credit on my billing when he told me to leave before he called the police. I told him that he should go have sex with himself as I drove out the yard, and went home and called Jiffy Lube Corporate headquarters to file a formal complaint. Rating minus 5 stars! read more

I got an email from Jiffy Lube: asking me to review the oil service I received the other day. This is my response... We were quoted $81.99 for Signature Service (plus additional $6.99 for disposal). As service was being performed, the tech representative came in the waiting area to show us an additional price of $24.99 for an air filter on his shop's tablet. He could add this on - as well as give us a $20 discount. And to quote him: "this will basically make the new filter only cost you $4." Certainly a good offer! We accepted it. The work was completed. Before we could leave, an assistant manager recognized this price offer was incorrect: if there was to be a discount applied to the bill, it would be $20 off of a filter regularly priced at $44.99, not $20 off of $24.99 (the discounted price). A confusion and misunderstanding - these things happen. But the assistant manager wasn't going to allow this miscommunication to pass. We suggested it wasn't our fault. The assistant manager brought this issue to the franchise manager. The franchise manager was not happy with this mistake that occurred. But rather than allowing a miscommunication to pass, he said he would call the district manager to see if he could allow this unexpected discount error to go unpaid for. As we waited, word came down from the district manager that this unintended discount couldn't go through as was quoted. At that point, we were there well over an hour. The franchise manager says we can't have the quoted price. So they took the car back to the garage, removed the new filter, pulled out our old one from the trash and reinstalled it. We ended up paying the regular price (minus a 15% coupon we found online) and went on our way. I was a manager in warranty/customer service for 5 years. I know that mistakes happen - some at the fault of the customer, some by the business. What our policy was, was this: if the service isn't going to become a legal battle, just give the customer the benefit of the doubt. The struggle over a few dollars is really inconsequential. Rather than argue over a small profit loss the business might sustain, it is better to make a happy, returning customer, rather than a disappointed one that will never return. And not only that customer, but the negative word-of-mouth that sours a company's reputation that it has with customers. All for an air filter. Please reconsider the policy we were exposed to. In my experience, it will be a more profitable one for you in the long term. read more

I have been coming here for a year or so and haven't really any complaints. I know I could probably get a cheaper oil change elsewhere but like the convenience and also that I can wait in my car to get an oil change because I have social anxiety. My latest experience was a bit unusual for Jiffy. I pulled up, the employee scanned my tag in my door, and just started service. As a woman I know I'm necessarily looked at as the most competent customer, but I would have liked for the employee to confirm the service/oil preferences. This did not happen, the employees just got to work. I leaned out of my window to confirm this. Maybe the employee was saving me the hustle of making a decision but it would have been nice to make that decision for myself. Later in the service he asked me to start my car when it wen the employee in the oil bay wasn't ready for me to start my car. Everyone was yelling and I immediately turned my car off. The employee working on my car did not explain what happened initially. I had to ask if everything was okay and what happened and he just confirm that everything was fine and the employee in the bay was not ready for me to start because the other employees hand wasn't out if the way. Admittedly I'm not a car wiz, so I was nervous whatever happened was going to negatively impact my car in some way or that someone could have been hurt. The employee checked me out and emailed my receipt (I prefer printed receipts to keep in my glove box but wasn't presented with that option upon check out). This employee was kind but quiet. As a woman with limited experience in the car maintenance world, I really would have appreciated if there was more thorough communication and customer service. I left and phoned a friend because I was a little shaken about why they could be yelling. They urged me to go back and get a printed receipt like I prefer, and confirm in detail what happened. So I did. A different employee gave me the run down of what happened which I really appreciated. Overall my experiences here have been good. My latest was just lacking in clear communication and customer service. I will go back in the future. I just hope that perhaps this review will help the folks at Jiffy Lube to remember that some folks have social anxiety, the car maintenance world can be a bit overwhelming for some, and clear communication and customer service is helpful and appreciated. read more

If I could give a negative 5 star I would. The staff at this location is absolutely horrible at their jobs. Oil all over the front bumper of my truck. They somehow killed my battery while in the bay. I 1000% percent sure they put washer fluid in my coolant I will be going to the Ram Dealer to get it all checked out. All my tire pressures are completely wrong. The price is absolutely ridiculous for the absolute crap service you get. I Never write reviews and for me to site here and be mad enough to write this should tell anyone to NEVER GO HERE. If I could go to this location and fire the employees that touched my truck I would in a heartbeat. Just the lack of knowledge about vehicles and pure laziness shows at this location. I've have the best service from VIP Auto in Williston they were just to busy to fit me in today and I had to find an other option as I'm leaving for vacation in 4 hours. read more

I tried getting the attention of the two employees that were working but they did not seem to care that I was there. They were not busy either so I don't understand why I was being ignored but from their bad reviews it looks like I dodged a bullet. I went in for a simple oil change. I was THE only person there. After 50 minutes of waiting while three guys literally were climbing on my engine-I asked what was going on. One of them barked "heat shield" at me. I asked "what?"- he again shouted "heat shield!". I said that I had no idea what that was supposed to mean & it would have been nice had any one of the three of them tried to explain what they were doing. They charged me an extra $30 for whatever they did. Fast forward a week & my car is riding crazy on the highway. Really scary. I brought it in to my real mechanic & he said somebody had over inflated my tires to 51 (should be 32). I supposed I pissed these clowns off by asking what was going on with my car. I had to give a star because it made me but would give negative stars if I could. I brought my car in to get my breaks changed after 4 hours it was "done". Had to bring it back because there was a problem after sitting in my car for 30 minutes they looked at it said they were going to take it for a test drive, an hour and a half plus 4 test drives I was told "I think I fixed it" "bring it back if it returns" 2 days later I was back over 3 hours this time I didn't even get a half mile before I turned around and was back for 3 more hour "it's all fixed" . Nope back the next morning and they told me I would have to bring it somewhere else to get it worked on! I would not go here ever again. read more

I went to jiffy lube in essex junction vt for a routine oul change and transmission flush, instantly after driving off the lot something wasn't right brought it in to a shop and was told they didn't drain my oil before filling it so I now have to much oil. and they screwed up the tranny fluid. I called corporate with no response and I've called the jiffy lube on Shelburne road with no response nobody ever answers the phone at the essex location. I would definitely advise against going to jiffy lube. Go to oil and go or anywhere else this place will mess up your vehicle and refuse to do anything about it. Now I'm in the mix of moving and trying to figure everything out with no vehicle as I'm being told by ammco it's gonna be about 2,500 to fix and Jiffy Lube is doing absolutely nothing to fix their mess up. Now I'm in the middle of moving and have a grand baby on the way and my family is stuck without a car because of this place. I've called and called and emailed with no response. Thanks jiffy lube. The staff is professional, they are they are knowledgeable and don't try to oversell you on services that you don't need. They are quick, friendly and completed the recommended Services quickly and at a price that can't be beat. I will continue to be a loyal customer of this Jiffy Lube because of Kyle and his team. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I WOULD POST ZERO STARS IF YELP LET ME. We have been a loyal customer at the Essex Jct, VT location for more than a decade, but they stripped the thread of our rear differential costing us about $500 to fix. Then they avoided contact for weeks (despite repeated attempts to get in touch), then would never call back, and then refused to cover any of the cost-- even though other repair companies could show that they were at fault!!! The service was completely rude. I am a very nice person, I have been patient for months, but this IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE EVER. BEWARE. I would also like to add that we were dealing with Ron Anderson, their Damage Claim Specialist. A complete waste of time. If you value your car or your hard earned money, AVOID. read more

Got my battery changed two weeks ago and they were able to get me in and out without an appointment! The guys here are great and super nice!

So, as I'm getting ready to go to work on a Monday morning, I find out that my car battery is completely dead. After calling several parts shops, I am told that no one can install a battery in my Chevy Impala because the particular design of the engine compartment makes it a long and difficult process. One well-known auto parts store told me it would be a "90 minute" job and they just didn't have the time. Well after purchasing a battery at another store, the team at Jiffy Lube was willing and able to replace it IN LESS THAN 10 minutes. And they charged me.....nothing. These guys were amazing. I mean in this day and age who does anything for free? Much less install a battery that was purchased somewhere else?? Well, I can certainly say that from this day on they have a customer for life. I hadn't been to an instant oil change place in years, but I decided to give this place a try and it worked out okay. It took a bit longer for the oil change than I expected - about 40 minutes - but the person who came out to the car as soon as I pulled in was very upfront about the wait time and was very apologetic. The car is fairly new so they didn't try to sell me anything additional, but they did show me on the computer screen what "factory recommended" services would be suggested for future visits. I checked when I got home and a few of them didn't jive with what my owners manual listed, so I will be sure to have that with me the next time I go. I thought the price was a bit high, at just over $100 for full synthetic oil. Fortunately I had brought a $15 off coupon from their web site that brought the cost down a bit. read more

I got my oil changed here last Saturday. I drove home and parked my car. Two days later I saw a puddle of oil under my car. Called Jiffy Lube, they sent someone over named Spencer. Spencer told me it was just leftover oil that his guys forgot to clean and he said he was pissed at them. Told me drive to the shop and they will clean it up but he needed call his district manager. After he got off the phone with his dm he told me that there was already residual oil there, his guys did clean the oil up and that everyone did their job so it's not their problem. The problem is, Spencer was lying to me the whole time. There was over 2 quarts of oil on the ground, and there was no way he could have seen the drain plug because my car has a splash guard under the engine. So I had to get my car towed to a shop and buy more oil. The kicker is what I found when the mechanic let me look under my car. I will post pictures after I go back to jiffy lube with my records and receipts. They put a worn out crash washer back on my oil pan plug and put sealant around it because it was leaking. They should have told me this. They should have told me the washer was worn and that oil is dripping. They should have given me the option to have a new washer put on my drain pan plug. read more

Ok, I'll give 5 generous stars to this place....But with a big explanation first! Mechanics will chuckle at this for sure lol Showed on one occasion after Shelburne rd jiffy had no stickers...they said an hour and a half...came back again next day dropped it off come back 2 hrs later it failed. Was a belt issue not the power steering belt but the accessory belt which would have just been a here is your sticker you pass but this is gonna go soon. I'm like okay belts no big deal, so we were going to leave it to be done since that's a 15 yank and replace...guy comes out to tell us he can't do it cause he's gonna need to drop he engine to change it...I'm hoping that was a joke to the newb because he told us that. Hour later monro muffler zip zap did both belts while they're at it cause that's good practice and didn't know the concern on the power steering belt...come back today get my sticker it's good to go! Guy was friendly AF. I was still shaking my head then I get a zero balance and a 4 with receipt...uhh..ok!! Then I drive home to give this 5 star review because it was so mind blown baffling to anyone that knows their car I can't complain. read more

I hadn't been there in a couple of years because they made me wait for 45 minutes without warning. I thought I would give them another chance. I was wrong. They kept trying to up sell me. First, telling me I am due for a tire rotation when I have NEVER done that there. Then showing me my NEW air filter and telling me it should be changed because it is old. The guy kept telling me that I needed to have synthetic oil in my 14 year old truck because It had better "vicosity" Don't pretend you are an expect on something when you don't know the word viscosity. I don't blame the guy for the up sell, It must be a company policy. The management needs to stop with the unbridled greed. They are running off customers. read more

Was there for an oil change. An hour and 15 minutes later they told me they didn't do it cause they couldn't get the cap off . Other people who were there had also been waiting a long time and were very frustrated with staff. When I asked if they could just write on a piece of paper what they thought was wrong so I could talk to my mechanic dad about getting it fixed, they wouldn't do so and treated me like I was stupid. I recently had an oil change at Jiffy Lube in Essex Junction, Vermont. Shortly thereafter my car started leaking oil. Thinking it may be a bad gasket, I took my car to the dealer only to discover that Jiffy Lube had not tightened the plug well enough when I had the oil change. I could have ruined the engine on my Rav 4. It cost me additional money to have that taken care of at the dealer. Greg, the manager at Jiffy Lube, promised to reimburse me after I submitted my receipt. He promised me 3 free oil changes, etc. He was very pleasant on the phone. However, he did NOT fulfill his promise of almost two weeks ago. I have since sent him two text messages and he has not responded. The people working there are EXTREMELY rude. Shame on me as I returned after not having a positive experience the time before but they are local and convenient. I am never returning there again. read more

I went in for my inspection with an older Subaru. This year, the inspection procedures changed, so I wasn't sure what to expect. They took my car for a test drive that lasted around 20 minutes after looking at it in the garage for 30 minutes... a total of 50 minutes for an inspection! When they finally got back from the test drive, they told me my car failed because the "break pads needed replacement" and that, while the rotors weren't fail-worthy, I might want to consider having them replaced as well. They also told me their shop wasn't equipped to make those repairs (I'm pretty sure their website says they do break work, but the employee told me the website lists a lot of services they don't really offer). Here's the thing... I had both the rotors and pads replaced less than 8 months ago! When I took the car to another local garage to get it re-inspected, not only did they tell me that the breaks were in tip-top shape (because, duh), they told me that Jiffy Lube had missed two rear lights being out, which did make it fail inspection. So, to recap, Jiffy Lube in Essex failed my car due to "thin break pads" that were less than 8 months old, but missed two tail lights that were out! And to add on top of that, they submitted a report to the state that claimed that my drivetrain had a problem, didn't communicate that to me verbally nor on the Inspection Test Report Form, and was ultimately debunked by the other garage. This caused the other garage to have to call the state to clarify, as my car couldn't pass inspection unless all reported causes of failure were repaired... but, again, neither thing Jiffy Lube claimed was wrong with my car was actually wrong! I will never be taking my car back to this Jiffy Lube. Use a locally owned garage if you can, and if you're in a hurry, take your car to Midas or Oil'n'Go. These guys wasted my time, took my money, and STILL MISSED KEY SAFETY PROBLEMS ON MY VEHICLE! F- read more

I came in looking for a quick oil change and expected to be told my car was due for a bunch of things that it really didnt. Surprisingly, I got a fast friendly experience. Lynn provided a oil change and coolent flush which took less time then expected. She explained things to me and never once pressured me to purchase anything I didn't need. The worst Automotive experience of my life, three separate times I tried to get an inspection here in the last week and was told that they wereout of stickers and to come back. My 4th trip there, they told me they had stickers but couldn't do inspections until 2pm when the inspection guy was back. So, I arrive at 1:55 and get seated right off and think to myself wow this is going to be quick. 1 hour and 55 minutes later!!!!!!for a vehicle inspection mind you, they come out and tell me, after I've asked what's taking so long, that my vehicle is done and I have failed because I do not have a cover over my gas cap! which I haven't had for 6 years now and passed inspection like this every time, oh and my tires are sloped?Huh? The truck just came from the shop 2 weeks ago for two new tires, ( I popped one and cut the other) and the mechanic told me the others were fine lots of tread, they're only two years old. They are nowhere near the tread bars for wearing out. What a waste of my time and theirs! Oh and my money. Never again. How does a business make money paying someone 2 hours per inspection and only charging $36? If you scam artists knew the vehicle was going to fail as soon as you looked at it,because there is obviously no gas cover lid on the bed of my truck, why did you wait 2 hours to tell me? Or even take my truck in? It's not like the gas cover cap is some hidden thing you have to discover. read more
