Warning! I had money stolen from my car while being serviced at the Beretania Street Jiffy Lube. I immediately informed the Manager. Several days later I was informed that there is nothing they can do about it. This has happened before, they know there is an employee stealing from customer's cars, but since more than one tech works on the car they can't figure out who it is. Please don't leave any valuables in your car and also keep in mind that the thief will have access to your home address and house keys, car keys, etc. Too bad. I took my car here just to get an oil change mainly because it's close to my house and I figured I could get in and out fairly quickly. I showed up 20 minutes before they opened up at 7am to make sure I didn't have to wait to get my car seen. I was the first one there but some how I wasn't the first one helped when they OPENED LATE (7:04). I told them I wanted a standard oil change, a replacement for one of the wiper blades, and per suggestion of the employee, a change of a burnt out light bulb over my license plate. As the car was being worked I sat in the waiting area. As time went by I got up to check how much longer on my car. I noticed employees just standing around chit chatting and puffing on their vape pens. No wonder it was taking awhile. When they finally said it was done the lady at the cashier told me they were only able to do the oil change. Apparently they were out of the wiper blade and the lightbulb needed for my VW Jetta. The cashier also told me the oil change technician said that I "may have a possible oil pan leak." That right there was really strange to me since it had no signs of leaking before. The lady kept insisting that I make an appointment to get it checked and fixed. I told them I would get it checked out by another shop then paid and left. A couple days later my fiancé is driving and tells me the oil light is blinking. So I check the oil levels and it is almost empty!!! I look under the car and there is a steady drip of oil! Now I know why the lady was being pushy about making appointment to fix the "possible oil leak." Clearly they did something to mess up my car. I WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS PLACE. IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY AND CREATED PROBLEMS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE WITH MY CAR BEFORE. These guys are either crooks or idiots who don't know what they are doing. Either way.... Had a great experience today getting my car serviced! They told me it would be at least 45 minutes, because there were 2 cars in front of me, however, I was in and out of there in 30 minutes. I used to like patronizing this place, but not anymore. The assistant manager was rude both times she addressed me when i initially pulled up. My safety check made a mistake which had me driving back and forth to satelite city hall. The staff seemed unprofessional. Another customer was upset because they didnt put her mat back in her car after her services. And they didnt put her sticker on her car. When they were told about her mat, instead of putting it in the car for her, they handed them to her. Although some of the employees were nice, do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. Go to Punchbowl Jiffy Lube instead - stay away from this one. I made an appointment a few weeks ago for safety inspection. Arrived this morning and was told they lost their license (again). They never called to let me know (and yes, they have my phone number). Luckily the Jiffy Lube at Punchbowl had 1 spot left today. They were nice and efficient. Not pushy at all. I also heard that they had been hearing from plenty of upset customers who were messed up by the Beretania JL. I'm taking my business to the Punchbowl JL for now on. They are either making mistakes or ripping people off! DO NOT TRUST THIS JIFFY LUBE We took our car in to get a safety check. Hour later we pick up the car that was waiting ready in the back. I knew we were not going to pass because I had to get the registration after the check. But they added on windshield wipers are squeeky and break light is out. Fine!! Was in a rush to head to Ala to get registration so I didn't check. My dumb as fault. Head to Ala, but could not get it because I had squeeky and break light out written as failed. Head to O'Reilly's to spend the 30 on what I needed. I get back to the car with my brother in law to toss on the what we needed crap and low in behold break lights were all on and wiper was still new, just dirty . I go back the next morning and was treated like shitt from this big guy that couldn't care less about my story. When I told him about the break lights, he was asking me a few times who did I check the break lights with? Who did you check the break lights with? RuFkidding me? When I told him my brother in law he says you need to go wait in line. You need to go wait in line......... You perform a safety check. Try and get your customers to pay for something they DO NOT NEED. You get caught doing this, with no apologies or even embarrassment and you tell me to go wait in line!!! Shame on you and whoever is running this operation. My wife came in the next Monday morning. Didn't say a thing. Showed them paperwork that was written on it, windshield and light, then said ok. I called ahead to check availability for a simple oil change. They said there was a 30 min wait at the time, so I drove on over. When I arrived around 11:40, they looked pretty busy and quoted me 45 minutes, so I waited in the lobby, and my car was indeed ready in less than 30 minutes!! My car got done in 40 minutes - oil changed, transmission fluid changed and safety check done. The cashier was super polite - walked me to the door and the manager on duty went with me to my car! WHERE ELSE you get that kind of service? and I must say this: To the guy with the tire light (F.A.) - you should take your lexus to the dealer and see what they say. I have never seen a shop that blows water into your tires. The battery in your tire sensor is like a watch battery - it dies. And if the manager on duty was good enough to bring it to your attention - kudos to him. He offered to check the spare? Kudos again! He didn't want you to drive off unsafe. Just because "your maintenance supervisor" said "hope they didn't put moisture in your tire..." means you hop on the bandwagon? If that was the case - EVERYONE would have a tire light problem that went there not just you and your lexus. And if they apologized for not wiping up their mess - they owned up to it and apologized right? Did they try to lie? Nope... And so what if the workers smoke before work? Who are you to judge other wise? Just because "your" workers do it differently? Come on mr judge, jury and executioner! Today was my first time coming here and it was really fast! There were a lot of cars in front us but we still got out of there within 40 min. We did have to wait for a little to get some help, so that's why I didn't give them 5 stars. The guy that helped us was not very pleasant either... But the cashier guy was really nice and patient! I've gotten my oil changed here for the last 4 years. The staff is always friendly and they seem to do a decent job. The prices are fair (it's hard for me to dish out any money for car work) but the service is very quick if they're not busy...which is pretty often. I went in the middle of the week this last time and got lucky with very few people there. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes with my oil and windshield wipers changed! I'm not always that lucky. If there's an option, you may want to call ahead and schedule an appointment. Never had any negative issues with this location. Usually in and out bada -bing - bada - boom! By the time I finish munching on something at the BK next door pau. I'm sure Jiffy Lubes quality of service can vary from location to location. Really depends on the crew. They don't try (push) for anything more than what your car needs. But the main reason I started coming hear was because on my very first visit I was told to come back in a couple of months because my oil was still clean. Whaaaat?Okay the owner may not like the idea of one of his employees turning away business but in reality it created more business. I'll admit I was a little shocked myself but very impressed with his honestly. A lot of reviews of this place are hit or miss. I've never had any complaints about this place except when it gets very busy and the wait is 45 minutes or so. There's a $5 off coupon online you can show them to get the discount on your services. They keep your old data in their computer so they can search when your car last had an oil change, tire rotation, etc. In addition, there are other services offered such as filling your fluids and wiping your windows, etc. I usually come here for an oil change. The waiting room has a tv, restroom, soda machine, magazines, free coffee, and a water fountain to keep you entertained. There's a BK next door too if you get hungry.. hopefully it won't take that long for you! They don't do appointments, so just walk-in when it doesn't look too busy! read more

Today I came to Jiffy Lube because the dreaded "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on my car came on a few days ago. Right away, I was greeted by an employee, Aaron who I shared my issues with. He told me to pop my hood, and right away saw what he believed to be the problem. He told me that one of my hoses had come loose and offered to fix it. He said that if I wanted, he would still hook up the computer to diagnose the problem, and if he was right about it being the hose, I wouldn't have to pay a thing. Turns out, he was RIGHT and not only fixed my car for free, but diagnosed it for free. Other automotive places I spoke to (Midas, Nissan dealership and an independent mechanic) all wanted $100 or more just to diagnose, so Aaron and Jiffy Lube saved me a lot of time and money today. Great service! A huge line when we first got there but Serena told us it would only be a few minutes. My husband and I exchanged glances like "pfsh, I don't think so." Sure enough, she comes back over after a few minutes to check us in and gets us all taken care of. You could tell they were swamped and short staffed today but Serena delivered service with a smile. She had a great sense of humor and joked with us as we went to pick up and pay for our oil change. I was helped by Titus and found him to be professional, courteous, and deserving of a 5 star rating. Aside from his manners, he saved me 75$ by alerting me my tires were balding to the point a rotation wouldn't have helped and what to do instead, as well as several other services I had asked for that upon inspection didn't need to be done. went in and told they are short staffed so it would be 20-30 minutes. not a big deal considering 2/4 bays were closed. small queue. 40 minutes later i finally find myself into a bay and told to wait in the lounge cause they needed to wait for a filter since they didnt stock any for a standard toyota tundra pick up truck. As everyone in hawaii knows, every 3rd car is a truck. but was told it could be up to an hour. Wasnt told this at all during the initial 40 minute wait while they wer laughing and joking and heads kept popping out of the lanes that were closed. at this point a car behind me and in front so i cant budge. But managed to leave since waiting over 1.5 hours for standard oil service when the entire business model is about it isnt too practical. wish them good luck but also a reminder why I havent been here and supporting my local station. If all you need is an oil change and by chance the staff at this Jiffy Lube next to University Ave. notice you might have other issues with your vehicle, they'll inform you, and ask if you would like the issue addressed. If you say NO thank you they leave it alone. They don't try to pressure you. I'm always guarded when I am dealing with my vehicle because I've been taken for many B.S. rides No pun intended. lol! I'm sitting here waiting for my vehicle's oil to be change and by coincidence the manager is informing this customer about the issues that need repair. He gives this customer options and really really good advice with no sales pressure or dooms day vehicle story. This has been the same experience I've received with this location STAFF for the three years I've received service from this location.
