I've been coming to jiffy lube for years to get my oil changed and get my safety checks. Never again. Today my mom took my car in and a woman mechanic denied a safety check because the windshield wiper fluid compartment is missing its cap. This cap has been missing for over ten years and this has never, ever, been a problem for any of the previous mechanics. I took the car right back and pointed out that this has never been a problem. I also pointed out that older cars don't even have compartments for washer fluid and even if my compartment were working, I am under no obligation to actually put any sort of fluid in it. More importantly, I am not going to get a ticket for lack of washer fluid. Despite all this, all I was told is that it is up to each mechanics discretion. Pitty that this lady's sucked and was not based on actual logic. Indeed, she had to hand write the "problem" in on the form given that missing washer fluid cap is not actually a box one can check off for denying a safety check. I asked the person I was speaking with where else I could get a safety check and was (helpfully) told other places. I drove to Midas and was in and out in a matter of minutes. The guy LAUGHED OUT LOUD when I told him that I was denied at jiffy lube because of the washer fluid. All in all, I will never go back here because of the this experience. Which is unfortunate given that I've never had any problems with any of the mechanics that I've had in previous years. If you do go, make sure you avoid P. Kusakabe because her discretion is pretty ridiculous. As a side note, I would totally recommend Midas. They actually worked much faster than Jiffy lube and were super efficient and nice and had a nicer waiting area. read more

went for an oil change and safety inspection...they only did safety inspection...then had to wait for them to bring the car around so they could do the oil change...had to wait 2hrs....you figure since they fucked up they would make my car priority...but i guess not...for nothing i made the reservation for safety check if i could give this place no stars i would but i have to click a star ‍ ***update*** 27 Aug 2018 i pulled up old asian lady with short hair very rude ( probably had a bad day) greets me told her i needed air so she tells me to pull around the back and lets the other employees know that seemed to look like they were on break...so i pull up this butchy looking girl points and starts yelling "over there" and im not sure if she was talking to me because there were other people around and she wasnt looking at me...so she does it again still not looking at so im still not sure if shes speaking to me then for the third time louder and sarcastic says again then i say are you telling me? she says yes then i say well you were pointing to something and werent even looking at me so i wasnt sure(being there was other people around....then she says well im busy and need to do something else( no remember i pulled everyone looked like they were on break and she was smoking a cigarette)...then a lady another rude one filled my tires and i am not sure if even works there because she didnt have any uniform on...so that place is very unprofessional i would not go there for any thing...there are other places that do oil changes and are much more professional with attitude and service...i forgot to mention the scrony kid with dreads that didnt look like he ate in a month looked at me stupid and im sure he worked there cause he had a uniform but instead someone else without a uniform did....now im glad i got my tires filled with air...next time i will just do myself and save the hassle of writing or updating this review...so if i could give this negative stars i would but i have to give it a one star otherwise it would not let me post read more

I PAID FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THEY DIDN'T CHANGE MY OIL!!! This is the most convenient location for me but such a bummer; I can't ever go back after this. I should of watched. Took my car in for an oil change on a semi-busy day. Went to my sister's home right after and while I was there, unknowingly, my brother-in-law (such a uber-nice guy) washed my car and checked my oil. When he said, "Hey, sis, your oil needs changing". I was like "What? I just did that this morning!" "No way", he says. "Call them up, that's sooo wrong." Well, what can the manager say? Of course they said to come back in and they'll change the oil. I've gone here for 6 years for oil changes & safety inspections, but after today's experience, I'm never going again. I came in for a safety inspection - I was the only car there. One employee quickly checked me in. There were at least 8 guys on duty, but after 40 minutes of waiting, they hadn't even started on my car. All the guys were either standing idly around or decided to hang out in their break room. After 40 minutes, they still hadn't started on my car. I told them screw it, I have to leave. Apparently they could care less about whether customers come or not. Bad management, or no management. I don't know. DON'T GO TO JIFFY LUBE!!! I just busted them for falsely charging me for a wiper that was never replaced!!! Two months ago i asked to have my oil changed and front wipers replaced. They charged me for both front and rear wipers. When I noticed this, I said nothing, assuming the rear wiper needed replacing also. They never replaced it!! I pulled in today noticing how crappy the rear wiper was, and immediately I was given attitude by the employees, claiming they dont carry those wipers. Then they rudely demanded a receipt, so I had to remind the employee that all their sales are in the computer and to pull up my receipt. While I waited for about 10 minutes with no response, I had 6 guys standing around giving me stink eye because I busted them!! Of course they wrongly charged and I got my cash back. We came here to get our Nissan's oil changed. As soon as we pulled up, we parked right in back of an oil change stall and got out, with no workers to guide us where to go. As soon as we get out a worker comes out and says to move the car over to the next stall, not in a friendly tone. He gets our info and tells us to come back. We went to eat next door and came back and the car was ready. They checked our tire pressure and fluid levels but forgot to put back three of our valve caps. We noticed that when we got home. I would say they are pretty fast but they are careless. They need to really improve on customer service. read more

This location was really professional. I didnt have an appointment on a monday and i got there at a perfect time when it wasnt busy. They took me right away! I got my foggy headlights cleaned. Took only 20 min. The sales/cashier man was very nice and professional, he even showed each customer to their car. They did a good job! read more

I really like the convenience and fast service that Jiffy Lube offers for my regular oil change, which has not been a problem for years.. The only problem is that lately this Jiffy has not been very reliable. It was early 2014 or so when they did not properly put on my oil cap after an oil change, so I didn't know I was leaking oil while driving. My car just shut down on me on the freeway that same day. I found out it resulted in my car engine being damaged! I reached out to Jiffy Lube that next day after I found out what the problem was but they just told me to tow the car back to them, all they did was another free oil change and that time put the oil cap on right. Sure it started up and drove fine at that moment, but unfortunately the damage was already done, as my car kept breaking down several times in a few week period after that - a car that was strong and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM before. The car was practically un-drivable since it was constantly breaking down. I took the car to LXS and Servco Lexus to get a diagnostic but they both confirmed it was due to that incident. There was no way to fix it. Thanks Jiffy Lube! For this I was hesitant to go back with my next car, but stupid me thought I could ignore this and rely on their many years of good oil changes they have done for me. Anyone could have a bad day and make a mistake, right? WRONG. The next two times they forgot to put the air filter back in correctly, both times all my lights on my dashboard lit up. Brought the car to LXS and they were able to put the filter back in right, and voila! Lights on the dashboard turned off and back to normal. Now I am too afraid to go back to Jiffy Lube. My only thing I would like to say to Jiffy is to get better trained employees because this carelessness is unacceptable. read more

Poor customer service and not trustworthy. Took my car in for an oil change, they sold me on some other filter and fluid changes, etc. They did the job but after i leave the lot, my check engine light turns on. I go back the next day to have someone look at it. (I didn't have time to return the same day) They plug a machine in to tell me what is wrong with the car. There's some error message concerning the air filter sensor. They tell me that their is no way that the service they provided would have caused the damage. They also tell me to go to a auto repair shop to get further details, because their machine can't tell me the specifics of the error message. Take my car to an auto repair shop, they show me what's wrong. A wire from the air intake sensor was pulled off. They think it's from the filter change and while I can't prove it , I am 99% sure it was Jiffy Lube. (you have to unplug the sensor to get to the filter, whoever unplugged the sensor was too rough and ripped one of the small wires off) There is no other reason for one wire to be pulled off, I did no other work on the car for a while before. I just wish Jiffy Lube would've taken some responsibility and been more careful with the car. Instead their first reaction is " it's not my fault, not my problem. " I don't mind mistakes, everyone makes them. All i ask is for people to own up to them and be responsible. read more

Tell em not to touch the back of our SUV for the rear differential oil back there, don't need to check it cause it's been taken care of and it always gets a little leak after they fiddle with it...what do we see? Them fiddling back there... Tell em no need to fiddle with our tires because they are from Xostco..so they are filled with nitrogen and not regular air, hence the green valve caps. What do we see? Before we can stop them, they are either taking the stuff out or adding air in there... First of all, its suppose to be 5 or 10 lbs (I forgot which) over what the norm is for air and only advisable to put air if its super low and cant get it at Costco if they are closed or you are not near by. To top it off, one time, they never even put the windshield wipers. They just had them on the windshield resting and only looked liked they were. It was after the next day we took noticed they weren't attached at all..Its a good thing we didn't turn them on, would have probably scratch the windows.. Not to mention they lost our antifreeze stick once.. you know, to check level... They can say they never did, but there was one is there before we went there.. So all in all, not the best... 1 too many things messed up.. And thanks for filling the windshield wiper fluid with plain water, not letting us know you are going to do that (once again, told them not to do it). I was waiting for it to empty to put the RainX washer fluid in. read more

A red rag had been left in my engine. My regular mechanic had to take the engine apart to find it. My car kept dying out...while I was driving. I took the red rag back to this Jiffy Lube and yep it belonged to them. They paid for my mechanics bill without any argument and was told I shouldn't bring my car for service on a weekend. I have never seen such a large group of people all be really good at looking busy, when they're really doing absolutely nothing. I came in for a safety check to get my car registered in Hawaii. They took my info, told me to wait inside--usual stuff. In the past 45 minutes, no one has so much as touched my car. There are 2 other cars here. All of the guys are just walking around, messing with hoses or trash cans BUT THEY'RE NOT ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING. I finally saw someone get in my car and drive away. I honestly think they didn't do anything to it, but I got the safety sticker anyway. If you need to get anything done to your car, go to the dealership or Makiki and get it done right. read more

I always come here to get my safety check done and always had great service. Today was worst experience. I called to make an appointment specifically to change my front brake pads in order to pass safety check. Flew from Maui to Honolulu specifically to get this done for a 12pm appointment. They take in my car and come back with an estimate and are telling me that the guy that does the brakes is on his lunch break and can't do my brakes today because his 3pm appointment has top priority. I was given an estimate to wait 4 hours and it's turned into waiting till they practically close and to wait for a customer scheduled after me to see if they even have time to help me. Not a happy customer! If I was a walk-in customer without an appointment I would understand but to have an appointment and to be pushed to last priority isn't right. And to add to the frustration, the soda vending machine ate $2 without giving me a drink. The front desk was lazy and wouldn't even help call the vending company to get reimbursed. They have plenty of time on their hands as I sit here watching them watching tv and playing on their phones. So after sending in this review Jiffy Lube in the meantime found time to fit me in before the 3pm appointment. Wow! Maybe they didn't want to see this bad review. Haha... This was my first time ever going in for an oil change. The worker asked me questions about my car that I should've known but didn't (like the year of my car) but nonetheless she was very nice and patient with me. I'm very appreciative about that because I was really nervous lol. All the workers were very nice and I noticed that they were all locals. I love my locals! Definitely coming back here! Unbelievably poor service. Checked in at 9:10 am for routine oil change and tire rotation. Writing this at 10:53 am and still not done. Worst part is no proactive communication from any of the staff on progress even though their computer has a running clock showing exactly how long each car has been here. I've had to ask twice for updates to be told, "they're really backed up on tire rotations today." With so many other options for oil changes, don't bother coming here! read more

They service my car like less than 5 minutes. After a month or so my car started to leak from the oil pan gasket. And now my car is leaking oil so bad! Total scammers! Went here to get our safety check and they told me and my husband we had to fix our third brake light.. They STILL had us pay for out safety check anyways and said if we return and it's fixed they would give us the sticker... What's so stupid about it is our light WAS NOT. Broken and we went to kaimuki auto repair a few days later and passed the safety inspection ... Jiffy lube is so unreal ... The lady who did I the inspection was hella ass slow to begin with taking her sweet ass time.. We were there over 30 min and it was a slow day... I had an oil change on May 8th and at that time made an appointment for safety inspection on the 22nd which was what they had available. The week before I wanted to double check the time so on Friday the 17th I walked in to ask someone but they basically ignore you if you're not in a car. On about the 19th I started to call them, and I would call 3-5x a day spread out over different times for the next few day and no one ever answered the phone. There was no alternative way to contact the branch such as email. I even went in on Friday the 17th and was ignored by the staff. So the morning of the 22nd I went in, had to wait about 10 minutes and finally chase someone down to ask what time my appointment was for and they told me their phones were down, the manager changed at the beginning of the month and they couldn't do inspections and they called everyone (I made my appointment on the 8th and no one had called me once) and other Yelp reviews complain that they don't answer the phone. McCully Union Service does inspections...I know because they answered their phone!! read more

I used to come to this Jiffy Lube regularly and I've spent $$$$ on great, convenient, fast service. But over the past year, the service has slipped so dramatically, I won't be returning. 1) Made an appointment and when I arrived on time, they had double booked it. They acknowledged their mistake and that my appointment had been scheduled first. But told me I had to wait 45 minutes. 2) I needed to get to work so left; they didn't apologize and could care less that they were losing a (former) loyal customer. It was a cold,dark and rainy day late in the afternoon, an hour before closing last week. I had only 30 min before picking up my wife. My 1 year old son was in the truck with me when we pulled in to the lot. There were no other customers and i waited at the lobby desk until finally someone noticed me. I did not feel things were off to a good start. Fortunately, brother Titus helped me and after i explained what i wanted he courteously explained what could be done. Seeing i had the toddler in tow, he assured me it would not take long. My son and i waited under the umbrella outside rather than the lobby. In under 30 minutes he called us back in to ring us up! They were able to do more than expected in less time than i figured. In our excitement at leaving earlier, i left our umbrella behind a chair in the lobby. 20 minutes later i pulled in to get it and and before i could get out of the truck, Titus was there with the umbrella handing it to me! I typically don't post reviews, good or bad. But this experience warranted one... I've been bringing my car to JL University off and on since I bought it brand new in 2007. NEVER AGAIN. They must have changed ownership and/or management. I stopped in at 4:30pm on Saturday 5/7/16 for an oil change and safety check. I was told it was too late for a safety check since they close at 5pm, OK fine. Technician tried to sell many more services than in the past. Granted my car is older now, but still. So oil gets changed. I get told the air filter is dirty, that I should replace it, but they are out of stock. I pay then start up the car. As I put my receipt away I feel the car shaking slightly. Probably just imagining things right? I pull away and drive off. When I get to my first red light, the car shakes like crazy. Next light same thing. By the time I reach Times Beretania I'm calling JL and turning back since it is now after 5pm. Engine light is also going off and on. I get back to the front of JL, they check the oil, make sure everything looks tight, rev the engine, then say it's fine. So I drive off again. It's even worse now as the acceleration is shot. I have to floor it to just get going. Car still shaking. Engine light still on and off. So around the block (McCully) I go then back to the front of the store and knock on the reception area door. They plug in a diagnostic meter which tells them cylinder 1 misfired. Probably something with the spark plugs they say. Let's see, this is where I drove in the hours before arriving at JL. Kalihi - Makiki - Moanalua (lunch) Moanalua - Airport (shopping) Airport - Stadium (shopping) Stadium - JL University My car was perfectly fine the whole trip. Anyway I say don't feel safe driving the car home, can they check it out tomorrow since it has to be related to what they did. Since I'm leaving the car there anyway, can I get the safety check done too? Nope, no inspector working. I call at 9:15am on Sunday, they haven't looked at it yet. I call again after lunch since I'm in the neighborhood, still not yet but they promise they will in a few minutes. I get a callback saying it's a bad ignition coil. $240 part plus labor, won't be available till Monday. Options are 1) for them to fix, 2) I drive car to another mechanic which could damage the engine, 3) get the car towed to mechanic. I tell them I'll discuss then call back. At first I agree to the repair, then remember that towing is covered by my insurance. So the car gets towed to the neighborhood mechanic that my dad knows who checks it out right away. No diagnostic codes showing up. Car driven around the block, NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. tl;dr STAY AWAY. WASTE OF TIME AND $. read more

They were suppose top fluids and nothing was done, I opped my front open and they said they don't fill cause different color coolant and no water put into windshield clean . Windows were streaked with dirt, they never finished cleaning windows. Makes me wonder did they change oil and filter. My car was out before a guy who was there before me. Jon, the professional who did my brakes, worked 30-40 minutes past closing time and didn't charge me extra. I was impressed with his professionalism and quality of work. Brought my car in for oil change and safety inspection. Unfortunately, I had no appointment for the safety inspection and the only next available appointment wasn't until next month. I do my oil change at this location every 3 months, loyal customer. I got the oil change but I had to take my business elsewhere for the safety inspection. Perhaps that data should be saved on my profile in your data base , you have my address, email etc. why not send me a reminder with an offer to have my inspection done before it expires. It would be a great marketing move and entice repeat customers. ALSO, I WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS IF I COULD HAVE GOTTEN MY SAFETY CHECK at the same time as my oil change. I went here to get my 2010 Mazda3 inspected. The staff was friendly. I was told that I could wait but there were quite a few people in front of me so that it would be better to make an appointment. I did so for the next morning at 8:30AM. I arrived on time the next morning - and my car was successfully inspected - with me out the door by 9:30. They didn't get to my car right away (that's why minus one star), but once they started my car was finished quickly. I enjoyed their free coffee, TV and air conditioned waiting area. The whole experience was quite good, especially considering that they are always pretty busy, and since these days the number of inspection stations has decreased dramatically, most require appointments, and some require that you leave the car for the entire day. read more
