Came in today to get an oil change and tire rotation and the staff informed it would take a while longer than expected which was perfectly fine. I was escorted to the lobby to wait. What was interesting in the lobby was the free water bottles and there were none inside. I have frequented this location several times in the past with no issues for the most part, but today seemed a little off on the checkout experience... I was informed they were ready for payment, but after getting the price I think it would have been a bit more courteous to offer a price quote at the beginning paired with the wait time. Again, I was informed about that the wait time but a bit more transparency for the pricing would be helpful. That way I could factor in how much I'm willing to pay and wait based on my afternoon schedule. The thing is you don't see the full prices until you get inside scrolling on the TV monitor. Then again it was not reviewed upon checkout. I had no problem paying the bill, but going inside to see the prices and then considering an attempt to make an adjustment as needed would have been nice. There were others there in line so that was not an opportunity given to me so I left it as scheduled. After checkout, I was handed the bill and that was it. I did not get told the car had the key in it, the car was ready to go ... it was more of a vibe of - off you go - I typically am aware that you can go to your car, but there were no car mats to prevent dirt or debris, or even a sticker placed on my window to let me know when I should return for service. I would fully rate a 3 1/2 stars, but only lowered a bit only because I felt it could have been a little bit more effort on the service side. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the service or lack thereof at the 720 First Colonial Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23451location. I called ahead specifically because their message stated "no appointment needed." I arrived at 4:40 PM, only to find the lights off and the doors locked at the front entrance. Oddly enough, the vehicle bay area was wide open with the lights on, yet not a single employee was in sight. I called out several times, even walked toward the back and called out again, but no one ever responded. After standing there for over five minutes, I finally returned to my vehicle--only to see an employee climb out of a parked car and slip back into the bay area, clearly avoiding customers like a professional. This kind of service is completely unacceptable. If a business advertises that no appointment is needed and is listed as open during those hours, the least they can do is be present and acknowledge customers. I took my car their to have them do work on my car, which they claimed they fixed. My car began having the same issues when I took it there. I had to take it back three times within a week!! The last time I was there, I guy came out who pretended to be a Regional Manager, told me I could get a refund. When I requested a refund, they gaslit me, claimed they didn't know who the guy was and that he wasn't a regional manager. This location put the wrong oil filter in. A few days later, the car is making funny noises all the time. After taking it back in, find out it's because part of the filter is now lodged in the engine block. When I reached out to JL, they said there was nothing they could do for 2 weeks because the GM was out of town. When corporate was contacted, they said they'd get in touch in 1-2 business days. There has been nothing from either the local branch or corporate since. Over $1100 in additional work ahs been done because they put in the wrong oil filter. It's still not fixed, they've not made any real efforts to address or correct the mistake, and I'm just hoping my vehicle doesn't die because I can't afford to pay for their very dumb mistake. Mistakes happen. Own it, fix it, and move on. Ignoring the customer you wronged for a basic repair that's now racking up thousands is beyond unacceptable. read more

JIFFY LUBE'S MISTAKE COST US THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!!!! On August 6, 2013, while on vacation in Virginia Beach, my husband and I brought his Pontiac G8 to Jiffy Lube on 3292 Virginia Beach Blvd. for an oil change. However, when filling out the paperwork, the Jiffy Lube technician made a mistake in writing down the car's mileage -- the car only had 52,288 miles on it at that time, but the technician accidentally wrote 54,288 miles. We didn't realize it until after our vacation, when the car's engine light went on and my husband took the car to GM to be serviced. The car is under warranty, so the repair would normally be free, but GM routinely asks to see the most recent oil change receipt to make sure the car is being properly maintained before doing the repair. But upon seeing the Jiffy Lube receipt, the GM mechanics pointed out that there was a discrepancy on the mileage. The Jiffy Lube receipt erroneously stated that the car had had 54,288 miles when the oil change was done, but at this point (after our vacation), the car's odometer read only 53,244 - less mileage than was stated on the Jiffy Lube receipt. GM said that because of this discrepancy, they could not honor the car's warranty UNLESS Jiffy Lube faxed them a note stating that they made a mistake in writing down the mileage. All Jiffy Lube needed to do was simply fax a note explaining that the mileage on the receipt was in error, and then GM would immediately honor our warranty and repair the car at no charge. Simple, right? So we called Jiffy Lube and spoke to supervisor Mike Connors. Mr. Connors assured us that the problem would be rectified within one week, and that he just had to get a certain paper from some archive and it would be fixed. But two weeks later, the problem STILL had not been fixed, despite numerous phone calls. Meanwhile, my husband was without his car all that time. Finally, on September 19, I called Mr. Connors yet again. This time he said that he had finally gotten that paper he was looking for - but it turned out that that this supposedly "important paper" was merely the piece of paper that the technician had written the wrong mileage on in the first place!!!!! Mr. Connors said that since that paper said 54,288 miles on it, he could not issue a correction - even though it was Jiffy Lube's fault, because the technician made a mistake and wrote the wrong mileage on the paper!!! Mr. Connors then refused to do anything to resolve the problem, even though Jiffy Lube is at fault. So because of Jiffy Lube's mistake, we now have to pay THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs out of our own pocket, because the incorrect mileage Jiffy Lube wrote on the receipt is less than what the odometer says. The car is still under warranty and the repairs WOULD have been totally covered - but Jiffy Lube's stupid mistake (and worse, their refusal to admit their mistake and correct the problem) has caused our warranty to no longer be honored. My daughter's Birthday is today 4-21, we are driving up to Richmond tonight and my brakes are gone. I needed brakes and rotors like yesterday. I did have to wait a little be for an employee to get with me about what I wanted taken care of on my car. However, as soon as I was acknowledged my keys were immediately taken so my car could be taken in for service. Total service time was probably 15-20 mins and was at 11 in the morning which was really convent. Staff was very friendly and also informative. While I appreciate the friendly staff, I wish I could say the same about the debacle I have found myself in today. Needed to have the oil changed and a nail removed from a tire. Thought all was fine until I drove off of the property only to have my tire pressure system not only showed that there was still an apparent issue with the same tire that was patched but also unable to read the other three tire pressures. Also noticed every time I stopped at a stop light, the oil light would flicker on and turn off after starting to drive again. Took my car back only to have the staff reverify that the oil connections were tight, no oil leaking, and that they did not have the tire pressure computer at the store to resolve the ire pressure light. One of the techs drove my vehicle around the block, after I gave him permission, only to tell me the oil light was not coming on. He stated that there was nothing else they could do and recommended I go to the Haygood Plaza Jiffy Lube to have them look at my tire pressure system. At the first stop light off the property, the check oil light reappeared and the tire pressure system shows a massive error. Haygood Plaza confirmed that the Virginia Beach Blvd store broke my tire pressure sensor when they repaired the tire and did not install an oil gasket in the correct position thus causing an oil pressure leak resulting in a flickering check tire light. Very happy that Haygood Plaza was able to get me in right away and correct the several issues but frustrated that this has turned into an all afternoon debacle because of initial poor quality of service at the Virginia Beach Blvd store. I suppose this is why people dread having to take heir car in for maintenance and default to taking it back to the dealership. Will not return to this property. read more

This is the worst jiffy lube I have ever been to. They will nickel and dime you for everything. The wouldn't test an check engine light for free wanted to charge me $5. The windshield washer fluid was low and said they could top it off for $5. They marked my air filter as bad and said it needed to be replaced for $22, so I asked to see it then he changed and said it was at 50 percent and I should consider changing it soon. I spent $106 for an oil change and they refused to check my engine light that just came on for free. He told me that he would set All my tires to 35 PSI they set the left side to 45 and the right to 35 I guess it would have been another 5 bucks to get all the tires at the correct pressure. Also I was the only vehicle in the bay and it took them nearly 30 mins. The workers were yelling back and forth which was very unprofessional. They also didn't give me a coupon book like I have received at every jiffy lube I've ever been to. I defiantly wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. read more

This is a wonderful place!! Came on a Sunday , the young lady told me it would be a bit of a wait because they were short staffed, this is fine with me I don't have anywhere important to be!! I bought an offer through Groupon that included oil change, tire rotation, and rain x glass treatment for $38 after tax. They said "they couldn't rotate my tires" and I change them by hand all the time with a normal tire iron(lug wrench). Anyways i was told on the phone a cheaper price to get me there, in the end I was charged an extra $39 on top of the $38...I could buy the best quality oil with filter for under $40 ...They probably didn't even do the rain x part because my windshield still looks dirty, I'll know for sure when it rains again.
