My two dogs were boarded for the first time at this place for one week. The pet resort was very clean and smelled great upon entry. Check in was efficient after an employee took them back I never got any updates while I was away. It would seem to be an easy text to assure me that they were safe and doing well. A picture or two would have been welcomed. When I asked how they did the person taking my money said "fine". That s didn't settle for me. The price charged was a lot and I couldn't afford all the extras like play time with the other dogs for $20+ per day per dog so I could see them play on a camera. I thought that would be part of boarding. Not here. It is a beautiful building and location but I won't be bringing them to this place again unless they offer more services with boarding. And I had to pay a holiday bonus charge for 5 of the days for each dog. read more

This is my second time using Jill's Pet Resort. I am satisfied from beginning to end with their boarding process. The communication is friendly and professional rather over the phone or in person. The prices are beyond reasonable compared to what I would have to pay in Charlotte. I was able to enjoy my Class Reunion knowing that Leo, is safe and in an environment filled with love for animals. I prefer to leave my older dachshund here over all of the other kennels I've tried in the last three years. I drive an hour to get to Jill's Pet Resort because I trust them. The dogs who are arriving and leaving do not have that panicked, manic behavior that some displayed at one kennel where I live. I can pay for an extra time outside for him after the kennel has closed for the day, and for a suite where I can watch him on a live feed. The staff is courteous and professional, the facility is clean and well kept inside and out, and although I hate leaving him anywhere, this has been the best option I have found. read more

We had a quick and easy set up to make an appointment for the first time for our soon to be 12 year old male boxer Moose. I had brought all of his previous vet's records with us to give to them so they'd know what shots he had and when. So, we made the appointment and then dropped him off on that day along with some food, treats and his blanket. They greeted him at the door and then took him back inside to his own room. The next day, we picked him up and he looked great! His little stubby tail was wiggling like crazy because he was so glad to see us. The girl that brought him out said he did really great for them and they gave him lots of one on one time as well. All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and courteous. We are using their services again in two weeks. So glad we found this place! read more

My dog has been going to Jill's for 6yrs now. I use to love the place until the new owner took over. Use to, if your fur baby was there at 7, they would get to her quicker, like 11am etc. They now have what's called an " Expressed Groom, " for an additional $26 for them to be done sooner. I already pay $75 for a miniature toy schnauzer that is 8 lbs. They are just trying to make more money. Time to move on! read more

My little Yorkie, was taken there to be groomed and when we picked him up he could hardly breathe and had a severe collapsed trachea. Was diagnosed by 3 different veterinarians. He is on 3 sedatives 3 times a day for life.It is very sad. There is not a star rating. read more

Yankee, our 3.5 year old border collie, has had multiple stays at Jill's. He's always so happy when we get there and seems content when we head home. You can tell the technicians really care for the animals. We like to leave him for day play when we need to run to Jacksonville or Wilmington. He enjoys the time to run and play. Our high energy hound mix Chani has used Jill's Pet Resort for over a year now. They ask that all your pets are up to date on their vaccinations, and their prices are higher than at other pet care businesses in the area here, but the quality is well worth the extra $$. They separate dogs by temperament, so that high energy dogs like ours get to hang out with like-minded dogs instead of overwhelming the more laid-back ones - benefiting both the quieter pups and our very enthusiastic, very friendly buddy dog. The facility -scratch that- the resort looks amazing, inside and out - it honestly looks like anything a dog could want out of a doggy hotel, and honestly it looks better than a lot of human hotels, too! The first time I left my dog for boarding, I thought she'd be happy to see me, but she almost turned around and went back inside, lol Chani doesn't require a lot of grooming, so I can't speak personally on that account, but I usually get her nails trimmed there, and she always comes out looking her best. The people there are always positive and upbeat when I've gone, and you can tell they love their jobs and care about the pets they're entrusted with. They're my go-to when we go traveling, and the basic package is very reasonable and has everything you need to take care of your dog. They also have tons of fun add-ons (which can stack up when you're not looking, hehe) that let you make the experience that much better for your pup while you're away. Chani has boarded twice for several days each, and has gone typically about once or twice a month for socializing, grooming, nail trimming, fun, etc. I will continue to use their services for as long as I'm in the area, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to have peace of mind when it comes to making sure their furry friends are taken care of. read more

I've been a Jill's customer with my 2 dogs for over 2 years. We have regular grooming appointments booked every 5 weeks. Unfortunately one dog is typically cut in much more professional, manner than the other. We normally drop the dogs off around 8 or 830 in the morning on a weekday. They are normally ready around 1:30 or 2 PM, still a long day for them to be locked up in a cage, Today was our worst experience. I was told they'd be ready around 3 PM which was not great news. I called to check on their status at about 3 Pm and found myself conversing with a call center in India with reps who spoke little English and asked my lots of personal questions to identify my account. I wondered if some spammer intercepted my call. With the significant language barrier this took 15 minutes before they were able to tell me they had no idea of whether the dogs were ready to be picked up and they could not get thru to the shop. I drove to Jills to ask for the dogs and was told they were short staffed today and they wouldn't be ready until 5 PM. I told the front desk staff of the poor job that the remote call center provided and they replied yes they've heard that before. I returned at 5 Pm and one dog was ready. The second one took till 5:20 Pm. I expressed my dissatisfaction and heard they were short staffed, sorry. I asked if they'd been let out and had access to water and they said yes. When I finally got my dogs they pee'd big time and drank like they hadn't had a drink all day. I left Jill's a voice message that if they can't get to handle my dogs till 430 or 5 Pm they should have told me to take them home and return when they are ready to groom them. If you cannot handle schedules better than this then why are you in this business? Locking them up all day does not score points with me. If this is the way they treat a reliable customer who brings recurring business God help others who are less dedicated. I intend to reach out to the owners with this blunt but honest feedback of a job done poorly. If you lack the staff to do the job please do not sign up for the work. read more

Love Jill's Pet Resort, but this time I brought my dog in for grooming and left specific instructions, "not to clip my dogs face". I have previously left a drawing/instruction showing how I wanted her clipped. To my surprise, her face had been completely clipped. I advise the receptionist and the groomers that I was not completely happy with the grooming results. Anyway, thank god her fur will grow back, along with that golden doodle cuteness. While I love the interaction my dogs get at Jill's, I often am frustrated with the staff. I very often will go in and the front desk girls act like I am inconveniencing them, will stop and have conversations with other pet owners while helping me. I will be the only person in there when they call for my dogs and then others will come in after and they will get their dogs before I will. Have requested information multiple times only to be told that they will need to ask the back but never make the note in the chart. read more

Every single time my dog gets groomed he comes back with THE FULLEST bladder and so desperate to drink some water. I have considered the stress of grooming, I have considering the stress of strangers, I have considered EVERYTHING. There is no reason my dog should be this desperate for basic necessities. I sent an email after boarding a dog for 10 days recently telling Jills of some things that could be improved upon. I got no reply no response to my email. When Jill owned this business she was on top of everything I used this facility many times before under Jills ownership, now its some large corporation from what I understand, whom doesn't seem to care about the individual customers like Jill did. I cut my vacation short a day because I was told I needed to pick my Dog up the day before memorial day or I'd have to wait till Tuesday. When asking when I could get him, they told me before 11 o'clock and I'd not be charged for that day. So we came back a day early only to find out we couldn't get him till 4 pm and we were charged an extra day. In fact they charged extra for the memorial day weekend and when we picked him up were not told if they had fed him dinner or not, I also packed 10 treats and they ask how you want your feeding etc. I asked them to Please give one treat a day with dinner is fine if you don't want to do bed time. I got 8 treats back which meant he was only given 2 in 10 days. So why do you ask if there are any special instructions if you are not going to follow them. I thought at least a reply saying Sorry for any inconvenience, and we will do our best to improve. But not even a reply to my email...But they sure as heck wanted their tip. I paid for an upgraded room and Jill had no issue showing you were your dog was going to stay. These people wouldn't even let me look, which raises a question in my head what room did I actually pay for? Did they put him where I asked? Did they feed him as directed? Not a good feeling after this last boarding. They could have at least responded to me and addressed my concerns in the email I sent. read more

I have been a customers of Jill's since before it was a pet resort. She use to have a little shop off of 70 and always got excellent service. I have noticed that over the past year the service has not been what it usually is. Schedules get messed up, front staff does not have a clue, etc. But the dogs always got taken care of, so I let it pass. Today I got up super early to take my 2 little Maltese to get groomed, 7.30 am. I was told that I did not have an appointment. Yeah I did. I was then told to leave them, and that at the end of the day, they would try to fit them in, no way are they going to be thrown in a cage all day, waiting for an appointment they had. I walked out with the dogs, after a few minutes, I came back in with the intention of rescheduling, I asked to speak to Jill, and I was told she no longer owned the place and had SOLD it to a big corporation. I was like well that explains the horrible service lately. Again they offered to take the dogs, was told people don't show up all the time, they would get done "sometime" today, again I declined. Then I saw a paper on the desk about a SURGE charge. During PEAK hours, they add a $5 SURGE charge when busy. I was like that is a rip off, and walked out. I congratulate Jill on her retirement, well earned. But If I was her they would take my name and reputation off that business. read more

I'm not sure who had Nymeria on Monday, but she looks incredible! And smells even better! Definitely the best she has looked. Her shedding is way down as well (nearly nonexistent). I really appreciate you taking the time to clean her up from her first heat as well as trimming her feet. I meant to ask if you could do that but forgot and she came with her grinch toes trimmed anyway! I know she can't be that easy to handle because she refuses to let us bathe her so thank you for being so attentive. I highly recommend Jill's for grooming. Very professional and clean. I feel like I'm dropping her off at a spa. We loved doing the day play before her groom when she was younger and would do it still if she was fixed already. We used the grooming services at Jill's Pet Resort and were very pleased! Our pup had a bad experience with a groomer a few years back and has been very skittish with groomers ever since. When my husband explained everything to the groomer (I wish he had got her name but he said he thinks it was Jennifer) she said she enjoyed the more challenging dogs because it was more rewarding to her. My first visit to Jill's with my black lab pup Reggie on my way out of country. The veterinarian told me his vaccinations were current and he could go to the resort. While checking in at Jill's on the way to the airport, it turns out the Vet was wrong. Reggie needed his rabies shot. I was panicked wondering how to get that done in time to get the airport. I called regarding some concerns about my dog after his appointment and instead of trying to make it right between the resort and myself, they blamed my dog. He was 7 months old at the time of his appointment and relatively new to grooming but instead of understanding they defended themselves by blaming my dog.
