Upon arrival to the grooming salon, Kristina was already irritated and informed me that because my dog did not get along with other dogs she would have to rush through his grooming because there was a full schedule today. I informed her that it's okay if she can't dry him as he has never liked the blow dryer. She informed me that they would shave him "dirty" and then give him a bath to which I said what ever is easier for y'all. She calls us an hour later to pick up my dog. His haircut is so bad. He's got insane streaks, his legs, his tail, and his head are not shaved. We were charged 89$ for my dog to look like Frankenstein. I have taken my dog there for about 8 years on and off , however this last year things have really changed with this salon. He used to have no issue having his nails cut and after going to this salon he will not even let us touch his feet ( which everyone knows what that means). However until today the salon has never returned him to me looking crazy or even wet for that matter. It was not until he was groomed by Kristina that things really escalated. The manager of the store did refund me for the haircut, which I appreciate, but morally I feel I have to leave this review. I think we all have to deal with difficult things at work, but most of us manage to still be a decent person and act with kindness. Especially when you are dealing with a senior animal). I wouldn't trust Kristina to shave a strangers leg let alone touch my dog again. My dog is high strung and loud, not aggressive what so ever, he does not like the blow dryer. I know this and always tell them it's okay if you cannot dry him completely , I would rather him be damp than stressed out. He is 9 years old and has hip dysplasia in one hip, all I ask is that his hair be cut for the summer. I'm disappointed but honestly I appreciate this experience because who knows what happens behind closed doors. read more

Was informed after driving 30 min on a Sunday at 7:30 she couldn't do my dog. They just aren't professional groomers. read more

I would never take a pet to a Pets Mart to be groomed. However, I do support Pets Mart because they allow rescue groups to show their and support animal rescue. read more

Was in a rush to get my kitty in a decent carrier. He had figured out how to escape the one we had. Every employee helped me look and then when I checked out they helped me put it together- right there in line!! The store is clean and the animals appear to be healthy and taken care of. I love our local petsmart and will continue to shop there! read more

I have heard bad reviews about the groomer here but wanted to give it a shot myself. Took the dog in to get a hair cut and had an appointment. They literally said they could not do it because he was matted. We regularly brush his hair and it stays long but is not matted. She didn't even take the time to go through his hair. She just said " Oh yeah no we can't do his hair" I DO NOT recommend this place to any one. That is pure laziness. read more

Seen a dog crate on the shelf, last one for $35. Got to register it was $72.99. Apparently it wasn't in the right spot and they still had the audacity to ask me if I wanted it. If it's advertised for $35 but you try to charge me $72 then heck no I don't want it. Learn how to put things away properly instead of disappointing customers. read more

I've always gotten the best customer service at this PetSmart. We see Chelsea in the grooming salon for my two Schnauzers and she is the ABSOLUTE best!! I have a timid older guy and a rowdy little guy and she is wonderful with both of them. I wouldn't think about taking them anywhere else. Nothing extraordinary about this chain shop, other than being able to find everything I needed easily. Especially, since it is a smaller store than most others. Ah, good ole Petsmart! Every time my boyfriend and I are out for the night in New Bern, I always ask to stop at Petsmart so I can see all of the animals. They're a pretty well put together organization, if I say so myself. By far one of my favorite places to be in New Bern. The people are extra friendly as well, except for the manager (not sure if she's there or not anymore, her name is Michelle) she was definitely a handful. Animals cages were cleaned properly, animals were well-groomed and fed, so I suppose they're doing a descent job. Prices are a bit too high, but then again something has to keep their lights on in that place, altogether, great place. I enjoy going there, as well as my boyfriend. The cats in the back are my favorite spot to be. I had actually purchased two hamsters from there, but one escaped the cage and I never found it again! read more

Best Petsmart I have been to so far. Every staff member was knowledgeable and friendly. I took my lab/golden retriever to get groomer here she looked AMAZING! Katherine was so sweet to my little girl and even put bows in her hair. I recommend going here and to pick up anything for you animal. This store is exceptionally clean and well stocked. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I was digging through their clearance bin of cat toys and an employee asked if I was looking for anything in particular or if I needed help sorting through the very large and very full bins. They helped me pick a cat food for my kitten, and almost a year later I still remember their excellent service. My kitten has grown up into a beautiful cat with wonderfully soft and glossy fur thanks to the great knowledge their staff had about the foods offered. Morgan is a wonderful lady! My older dog has a lot of issues and Morgan is always so patient with her. She's so good that we only take our pet in if Morgan is working. The other staff have always been polite and helpful and I have no doubts they would all be just as attentive to our pet's needs, but Morgan has always demonstrated the above and beyond that makes me feel safe leaving my pet in her very capable hands! I drive over 30 miles to bring my pet to her every 4-6 weeks and will continue for as long as my pet lives and Morgan remains at this location. read more

I have spent $1000's of dollars in this store. They send me tons of emails for their awards discount. When do I actually receive a coupon for a discount on the Items I purchase for my Cat? Cat selections are not very good either. Why be on an email rewards list that just sends me unnecessary emails on things I do not want? If I could, I would give zero stars. I have been taking three of my dogs to the groomer at Petsmart in New Bern for the past 4 years. Up until now, I would have said I had positive experiences. Not so much anymore. I don't know whether it's because of COVID or changes in policy or what, but the service was terrible. First of all, the groomer got my dog very stressed out just checking him in. By the time I left him, this very chill, very not high strung dog was panting, drooling and trembling all over due to being forced to walk around to apparently prove he didn't have a limp. My dog is blind and deaf. I know they require dogs to walk at least a little, but the groomer kept trying to get my dog to walk even after he had walked several steps. By the time she took him to the back, he was a mess. Two hours later I got a call that he was too stressed out, they could not groom him. So after all that, and putting the dog through the stress of going out, he couldn't even receive the service he was supposed to get. I will not be bringing any of my dogs back here. If you have an animal with any kind of special needs, do NOT bring them to Petsmart grooming. read more

Customer service has been TERRIBLE almost everytime i go. There is a african american girl with curly hair who is at the register alot and she is amazing and sweet. On the other hand two people never fail to have bad attitudes. A girl with short hair and glasses is always really smart mouthed and rude as if shes saying well why arent you a dog expert like i think i am. Extremely rude. And a short woman who wears her hair in a bun always seems like shes in a hurry and cant be bothered to help you. read more

DO NOT buy any animals from this place. We bought a bearded dragon from this store and she seems to be ill. We have only had her for 31 days we went in to ask some questions and they advised us that she probably has a bone disease and veterinarians cost for this can be as costly as 3000.00 and it "just happens" to some of the dragons. This is my 11 year olds bearded dragon and he is extremely upset by it. Instead of them offering any assistance since we just purchased her they advised us of the cost we might accrue for the sick animal they sold to us!!!! Horrible customer service!!! read more
