I have family there and given the difficulty I have had getting an appt (even with the help of my primary care physician locally a relative suggested I try here. The woman said "What kind of insurance do you have?" I said, "United Healtcare. Dr Bailey was listed as 'In Network'." She said "But what kind of insurance do you have?" I said "Other than United Healthcare I don't know what to tell you. I see a Group Number. I see a Member ID. I see 'Choice'." She said "We are not accepting new medicaid patients right now. Is that medicaid?" I said "No I'm not on Medicaid. I have my own business/LLC and this is my company's insurance policy." "What is your primary care physician's name?" I told her his name but explained I didn't live in her region. She said "I will have to transfer you to Sapling Grove since you are a self referral." I was like "OK". So this other woman answers. She asks me the same things about insurance and doctor's name. She said "We are a 100% referral center." I said "Uh. Why is that if you are in my insurance provider as in network. And the other woman who transferred me to you said she was transferring me to you as a 'self referral'. Now you say you don't accept referrals. I'm confused." She said "Please hold". I just hung up. They sound very disorganized and not very accepting of new patients. I think I will just wait it out here in the DC Metro area.

Dr's orders were for 2 weeks of R & R after surgery, but Sharon told my husband I was to do no cooking or cleaning for six months. How great was that? Before seeing Kyle I went to a university spine Institute, physical therapy, acupuncture and yoga these gave me temporary relief but Kyle found the permanent solution to my ailments. Giving this practice an "OK" rating is generous. My experience has been that an MD could not…read moreeffectively remove excessive ear wax without causing pain. The doctor complained that my "ear canal is very narrow". How is that my fault? At one point I was so desparate that I agreed to his suggestion of having the ear wax removal performed while I was under anesthesia in the OR?! Even if Medicare paid for that, the out-of-pocket would have been significant, and for what---ear wax removal? Obviously, I decided against this solution. To put this experience in perspective: A Physician's Assistant at another ENT practice (different market, outside the Ballad Health jurisdiction) had no problem whatsoever in cleaning my ears--causing 0 pain or discomfort. Did she have special tools or other equipment? Or did she use heat or other processes differently to soften the wax more effectively to allow its safe and painless removal? Even if the answer is "Yes" to both questions, those tools and processes should have been known and available to be used effectively in ANY reputable ENT practice.
