To give Jim the review he deserves I have to tell the story of what actually happened. So Jim represented myself and another friend Charlie while we searched for a house in Kona. We were Looking for a vacation house for our families to share. We both live in California, and during this process we relied heavily on Jims opinion on the houses that came up on the MLS. We found our house in short order and Jim was able to Broker the deal seamlessly without us being there going well above what typical relators have done for me in the past. Jim Always answered any Questions I had (I had a lot) and was very knowledgeable about my situation in trying to have a vacation home. So typically that's were most relators are done and check out as they get there money and have no more invested interest in you once Escrow Closes. But for my situation was a little different than most. I am a firefighter and all days off have to be planned well in advance, and the days that I had planned on escrow closing ended up being wrong which put me in a position where I would have to get a hotel for a few days while escrow closed before I could get the keys. Jim insisted that I stay at his house and during this process I feel we have become friends so I figure sure why not this may be fun ( Jim is full of good Hawaii stories). I never thought I would get the king treatment that Jim and his family gave me, starting with some of the best food I have ever had breakfast, lunch, and dinner to letting me borrow his truck to move furniture and landscape equipment around to get my house ready for our families. Reference for Jim We became friends with Jim Dahlberg in 2013. When I say we I'm referring to my Wife Laura and I. We met Jim on our first visit to the Big Island since 2009. We had been staying in an Airbnb rental in Punalu'u and on an early morning walk on Black Sand Beach enjoying a sunrise we noticed a beautiful beach front home with a sign on it saying "Vacation Rental" and a phone number. We loved the location of this beach house and had we known about it we would have made arrangements for a stay. We then called the number later that day to inquire about the beach house for a future stay. After several minutes on the phone with Jim we came to realize that Jim was very knowledgable about the island being born and raised on it. You see we had also been contemplating buying a second home on the Island to use as a vacation rental until we retired. As it turned out Jim was also a well known realtor and our discussions quickly turned to potential home sales.
