If I could give zero stars I would. We have lost money working with this company. Save your time, your money, and the stress of dealing with this husband and wife team who manage these properties. I have talked to several people in the community with the same experience. Bottom line: they ask you for thousands of dollars without a signed contract, drag you on for weeks (BLAMING THEIR OWN CLIENTS for the delay) saying they contacted people to move your project along (when in fact no one has been contacted), and when you refuse to give money without a contract you are at a loss on your money and time spent waiting on their listing. SAVE YOURSELF, YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. We have not had this horrible experience with any other real estate company in Hawai'i or elsewhere. We have been warned time and time again of SCAMMERS; be very careful who you give you money to without a contract. Update: His response states exactly what I said. They did "not want to waste their time" filling out and fully executing a contract prior to a deposit being received into their bank account. Both Stephanie, and Blake, said they would NOT move forward with the contract prior to the deposit being received. Horrible experience with Stephanie Knutson, who declined my rental application after only checking with one of the 7 references I listed, and the person who she received the bad reference from is the landlady who is currently living off my rent and does not want me to move elsewhere because I am her bread and butter. Very unprofessional. She declined my application without even waiting for for my Financials or checking with any of the other six references I listed, even after I asked her to, and even after I told her that I spoke with my landlord, who admitted to not being fully honest with Stephanie about the fact that I had given her notice in mid August and she pretended not to have any idea that I was moving. She did not do her due diligence and denied my application based on the word of a dishonest reference. Very disappointing and I would not recommend to anyone looking for a solid or thorough rental agency. read more

Requested a several thousand dollar deposit without any sort of executed contract. This is the sort of thing that public service announcements alert consumers to be wary of. The story changed repeatedly and it was never the same story twice. Literally went from "being qualified" to "the owner doesn't think it will be a good fit", within hours, after refusing to deposit thousands of dollars into their trust account in person at their bank without a signed and executed contract. read more

This was such a disappointing start and wish we had a better resolution. Booked a property through Airbnb that was misleading and falsely advertised. Checked in around 10pm and immediately raised concerns. First we never received the door access code which yes they called us back quickly. But it went downhill from there. The extra living room with a sofa bed was "secured" by screen doors - not actual doors - to outside meaning anyone could look into the property and see where someone would be sleeping. One of the screen doors was broken as well (photo attached). As a group of women, this did not feel safe. Later we found out that there was a shared laundry room and the occupant upstairs could access during certain hours despite the listing claiming we would never interact - false. This felt like a lack of privacy. We informed them right away we didn't feel comfortable and would look for a new place to stay as soon as possible (would've left that night but it was close to midnight). Around 5am we let them know we were looking for a new place and asked them to refund. They said they would refund for the remaining nights (which honestly after the stress and inconvenience we should've received a full refund) AND they would charge the entire cleaning fee of $408. That is absolutely ridiculous - it was more than the actual nightly rate. This is shady and unreasonable and their reply left an even worse taste. AVOID IF YOU CAN! read more

We stayed at Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club and had an amazing time! The condo was very clean and just perfect. We loved the views and had breakfast every morning on the balcony. The management company was so nice and accommodating, our plane was delayed and they really helped us out by letting us check out later, (it would have been a disaster staying in the airport with a toddler) Also, the neighbors were very nice and gave us a lot of great recommendations on beaches and places to visit. read more

We stayed at Kona Makai in Rich Jorges' condo (#5205) for 10 amazing days. The property is lovely and the condo itself is clean, well furnished, and in great condition. Condos are managed by Knudsen and Associates. They were very friendly and helpful. Even talked us through directions on how to get there because we got lost. The whole property is beautiful and clean, quiet and is right on the ocean. Rich, the owner is very nice, accommodating, and easily reachable. It's a 1 bedroom on the 2nd floor. It looks out on a beautiful courtyard. It's close to parks, restaurants, bars, shopping and tourist attractions. We will definitely go back. Thank you Rich for your hospitality. We rented unit 204 at Casa DeEmdeko for the month of Sept 2023 and we could not have been happier with the unit and the complex. The salt water pool is amazing, the sunsets from the beach area are spectacular, and the common area is most enjoyable meeting owners and guest from all over. They have three large barbeques that are well maintained with Tiki torches in the evening to add to the ambiance. Casa DeEmdeko is a gated complex with parking for guests. A free trolley that stops out front runs between the Keauhou shopping area and downtown Kailua-Kona. Reservations were made through Knutson and Associates who were very responsive and helpful. When we arrived late on a Monday afternoon we contacted Blake Kessner from Knutson and Associats and helped us with access to the complex and the unit. Great customer service. read more

Our stay at Kona Palms was great! The condo was very clean with an amazing view and had everything we needed. The process to rent was clear and easy. They reached out before our trip with rules/expectations/check-in procedure. They also checked in a few times once we were there (through text/email). We mentioned the dishwasher needed Rinse-Aid for the next renter, and when we returned that afternoon there was Rinse-Aid so we wouldn't have to hand wash the dishes. It was a great experience for my family of 5. We sure hope to go to the Big Island again, and we would definitely rent this condo again. read more

Emailed the principal broker and owner to request to book a cottage that was posted on two other travel sites. He responded that he would get the best price from the owner. After two weeks, and several phone calls and emails to follow up, he raised the prices on the websites and did not honor the requested booking. A representative met us at the place and she was incredibly helpful and professional--she even answered many questions about restaurants and such. The house and grounds were immaculate. Everything we needed was present. Linens were great. Beach towels were in a basket at the front door as well as in the closet. I really wish I had a better experience staying at this property last week (October 2022). We were in town to meet with vendors for my sister's wedding, and while a trip to Hawaii was just what the doctor ordered, this home rental/living space made the trip a lot more difficult than fun. When we first came in after almost 24 hours of traveling, the air was off and the whole condo smelled like animal pee. We immediately went to turn on the AC units, all of which read "ERR." We got very nervous. The team had someone come out the next day, but said they had to go out to a third party, who then would come have it done no later than Tuesday. He/She/They never came. One of the "updates" we received from the owner, Blake, said "It IS brutal this time of year. It cools down mid November." This showed me more than anything that he did not give a flying F about the discomfort of his guests. The slightly passive aggressive responses, mixed with little to no follow up on what was actually going on with our AC made for extremely poor customer service. While I understand things happen, I was confused that you were so unaware of the state of your Condo. How did you not know there was an issue with the AC? Did you not check on the home when you stocked it with fresh linens? Did you not care that we paid for a place WITH AC and did not provide your end of the contract? A home like that would have cost half the price if it stated it did not have working AC. While I understand things happen, the complete disrespect for my family, our money, and our vacation/comfort was so inexplicably disrespectful and insensitive. The first night, the main floor bathroom drain was broken as well. We had to completely remove it to drain water, and when doing so, it allowed all the bugs to come in, so the whole home was filled with mosquitos. The front door screen also had a very large hole in it, so while we could not get AC, and we wanted the doors open for some air flow, it was moot point, as we had to exchange fresh air for mosquito bites. While the team gave us ONE AC unit, it was put in one bedroom. At one time, the thermostat on our phones read "Feels like 96." Again, no regard whatsoever from Blake and his team. While we hoped to use these properties to refer to friends and family for the wedding, I could not speak more poorly about this company and their poor, poor, poor customer service. read more
