We ordered drinks before hand and the drinks were brought to our tables. We also ordered the pimento cheese and crackers. We snacked on the crackers most of the show as there was quite a bit of pimento in the bowl. The show was great and was broken into 2 parts. There were a lot of great metaphors along with it being a very interactive show with the crowd. Many of the tricks and magic left us in complete awe. We can't wait to come back and see future shows!

I have never been to a VFW, but found this location to be a fun and relaxing venue. I met a few veterans and their families who brought food for all to enjoy. Libations were offered at the bar at a reasonable cost. A band was scheduled to play at 7 pm, but I had to leave and didn't get to hear them. I'm sure they did a good job. Out of curiosity, I did a little research about this particular post and its namesake. I learned that the Harry E. Anderson Post 9545 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States was established on July 19, 1947. Corporal Anderson was the first soldier in Will County Illinois to die during World War II. He was killed in Guam on December 7, 1941. On September 12, 1995, the post was completely destroyed by fire. However, plans to rebuild the it began almost immediately while trailers served as the temporary post. On November 19, 1996, the new building was completed and formally dedicated on January 11, 1997. VFW Post 9545 is one amongst approximately 9,000 posts worldwide. Its mission is to "honor the dead by helping the living" through veterans' services, community services, national security, and a strong national defense. Outside alcohol is not permitted, there are a few beer gardens for your thirst quenching needs and Blue Island Brewery served up some suds this year! Yipee! Hint: Bring a chair or picnic blanket otherwise you will be standing in the back or sitting in the grass.

The parking situation at Walmart had me a little confused because I don't know directions of Southwest.But I was able to find where the busses, which seemed like two would run a continuously. When dropped off, it was a short walk to get to the front to pay your entrance fee. You could use cash or credit. They had a small open field for where they did presentations. If you want to be able to sit down, I recommend coming a little early, otherwise you will either stand the whole time or you can choose to sit on the grass. It's not a very big place.So once you walk around, you kind of see all of the animals, some a little bit harder to spot. It's cool to see wolves and learn a little bit more about that them about the tigers and the bear. They also had silly safari come out to do a presentation which was really cool to be able to be up close and personal with some of the animals that they brought. They do have food that you can buy on site.If you're feeling a little hungry. We did get a raffle ticket, but I have no idea when the raffle was happening as we didn't stay all day .But overall, it was a fun experience.It's so you make it what it is. You catch the bus back to the walmart parking lot where they dropped you off.

The bus experience was a bit tricky since it…read morewasn't clear to me which part of the enormous parking lot was the southwest side, however it was a bit more apparent when I saw lines forming after 10:00. When going there and back, it seems like there were 2 busses making frequent trips, so the wait was fairly short for the shuttle. The process of getting in was fairly quick and efficient, with separate lines for cash and credit. Near the entrance, there was a large space for watching presentations, which were fairly well done -- similar to what I've seen at other similar shows. It would have been nice to have some more bench seating, but this seemed sufficient -- with most patrons standing and some sitting down on the grass. The remainder of the facility featured animals scattered throughout different cages, and some chickens running around throughout the farm. During my visit, many of them were resting though at times they would walk around slowly. Some of the smaller animals were a bit more difficult to spot as they would blend into their surroundings. Overall, a fun experience and one of the few spots in the midwest where you'll be able to see several wolves together like this (I believe Wolf Park in Indiana and Brookfield Zoo are the other ones nearby Chicago - with other options in Ohio, Minnesota, and Missouri for a slightly longer trip).

The camping experience was awesome. *The mobile showers * Garnier Fructis station ( hair done, free by professional stylist ) * Food Truck (tacos & burgers) * Shuttle bus that ran to walmart 3xs a day) * Fireworks every night @ 10pm * amusement park rides * Craft tent ( made a rave stick & flower head band) * charge tent ( keep cell phones & laptops charged) * water stations to refill bottles and packs & Best of all, there was a warm tent that stayed open 24hrs a day. When the weather got a bit chilly, I ran for shelter to the warm tent. A community grill was on deck & every morning we could cook scrambled eggs, fry sausage & make tea & in the afternoons we would grill burgers & host a bbq before heading to the concert grounds. If someone was too intoxicated to walk back to their tent , EDC volunteers would happily escort us back to our tent via golf cart. There were various music stages to see our favorite EDM artists.The music was epic and I remember being told by a Joilet Police Officer that there were 9,000 911 calls from the Joilet residents from Thursday night to Monday morning of the event. The residents could hear the music from a 20 mile distance & thought that was some type of bombing occurring at the camp site! The scenery was full of fun & laughter. I remember seeing some tent neighbors bring a life size "Connect Four" game to the site. The tent lanes/rows had creative street names such as "Creativity Lane" or FoFo St". I made so many friends here and will be back to EDC Chicago in the years to come!

No traffic in and not much on the way out. Security check points (3): not as tough as I told it would be. One time the security girl asked if I had anything in my pockets I said no and she just let me walk by.... I also had on rugged boots that could of a fit a million things in them and nobody checked. Oh and I also had opened chapstick and their website clearly states NO open chapsticks, but I was a bad ass and got it in, haha. I've never been to the Speedway before so I was in for a surprise. We can't control the weather and it was less than ideal esp. Friday night where temps drop to low 40s, but the DJs rocked EDC Chicago! I danced all night, every night, for three nights straight! It's a pretty close call for which night was my favorite: Saturday or Sunday. Saturday night Armin was amazinggggggggggg! His set is so good that I listen to it while working out! As for Sunday it might of been muddy and rainy, but the rain brings all the crazies out! Definitely a memorable one! Plenty of port-o-potties and food stations, also if it was raining you can buy a poncho at the general store and they opened up the garages. Endless supply of free water at the water stations and plenty of beer sellers. Definitely a fun experience and from experienced EDC Las Vegas peeps EDC Chicago is a big tease and I'm quite alright with that because it is the "road to Vegas" and it's definitely building my anticipation!
