The IMAX theater (Screen 10) is about the most uncomfortable theater I have been in for quite a while. Theater was clean, but the seats are narrow and cramped, spacing is very tight, and forget about reclining seats. Whatever seating upgrades they made in the other theaters, they need to make in the IMAX theater. It's more like the ball park. For the price, next time I want to see a movie in IMAX, I'll travel a little further and actually be able to enjoy the movie. read more

This is my second favorite AMC location. Naperville being my first. Definitely better than the Crestwood location. However, this is the theatre I am in most of the time. For starters, their employees are pretty kind, and for the most part, pretty active. They're not lazy and they seem like they care. Even though being at the films is not about customer service, they still make that presence known. I can't remember a time when the theatre was dirty. Or when the chairs didn't work in reclining. The floors in the actual theatre rooms are always clean when I come in. The hallways too, even the garbage cans outside of the theatres. My only thing is it sucks getting cold popcorn. I can guess that they make it maybe every 4 hours or so. It's a high demand snack for a theatre so I assume they make big batches of it and leave it. As a stubs member and film enthusiast. This location isn't bad compared to other AMC locations. read more

This review is only for screen 5 and not the movie. I went to see Black Panther 3D on screen 5 at AMC New Lenox. Do not watch any movies if it is on screen 5! It a horrible picture and the darks are too dark and the whites are too bright. I felt like I was watching the bootleg version of it, and it definitely took away from the movie experience. All it needed was a person coughing, and another walking in front of the camera (someone's IPhone) with a baby to feel like it was straight from the internet. It was so dark that I had to remove the 3D glasses just to see the image. I would have left and watched it later if my friends were not with me. I am very surprised that a screen that has such a bad image quality would be allowed . If you are a lover of movies like me do not watch anything on screen 5 at AMC New Lenox. No movie theater with a bar should close the bar as a business practice (apparently they only open the bar when ticket sales are high). I checked that there was a bar at this theater, bought tickets ahead of time and arrived to see my movie; when I saw the bar was closed (no bartender), I asked if a manager could sell us a bottle of beer and was told no. I returned my tickets and left. I'd rather watch Netflix at home. I understand if the bar isn't fully staffed, but not selling simple drinks (beer and wine at least) is silly in this day and age. read more

Such a horrible experience Was asked to leave after being watched for 20 minutes because baby cried while bottle was being made before the movie even started then she stopped crying with her bottle, but we walked out with her and was still asked to leave and they would give us a refund. Once we got to the lobby, they handed us a business card and told us to file a request. Which didn't work because the movie had already started and you need to request a refund before movie starts. read more

It's been awhile since we'd been to a theater to see a movie and we wanted to see Dune 2 at an IMAX theater. Most of the seats were sold out for the shows in Naperville so we went to New Lenox. We signed up for the monthly charges deal (.99 for the first month and around $22 I think for every month after that. 3 month minimum). to be able to see 3 movies a week. So far, it seems like a good deal. New Lenox has a bar for beer and mixed drinks - which are pretty pricey at around $15 a drink. But for the 4:30 Saturday show, the bar wouldn't open until 5:30. The movie was supposed to start 4:15 but didn't start until 4:45. Some of the commercials were repeated twice and it was EXTREMELY loud! Action movies are fun when it's loud but not when it's actually - literally - hurting your ears. Our Apple Watches were also giving us warnings about the sound. The imax holds over 200 seats and they're CRAMMED together. I'm not super thin but I'm not that big to where the seats should've been uncomfortable but they were. Both men on either side of me sat with their arms crossed in from. There's one drink holder between each seat and if you have a drink in one you can't put your arms down. I had my drink in the holder and the guy in my right had to hold his. The seats didn't recline and weren't padded. Very uncomfortable. There are a couple of other theaters there with around 100 seats and others with around 30 - but just the one IMAX with 200+ seat. The other theaters there all had really nice padded reclining seats. Seeing the movie in IMAX looked no different in the other theaters. I will never go to this one again. Having the membership deal we're supposed to get a kind of VIP express lane and there weren't a lot of people there but the staff didn't seem to care about people in this priority lane and took kids who were in the regular lane. My first bucket of popcorn I'd asked for butter and salt to be added in the middle. The employee told me it's self serve for that -which it is anywhere else you go but they'll normally fill it half way and let you add your extras then fill it completely- but not here. She filled it completely the first time. When I went back for my refill the guy working there filled it half way so I can add the butter and salt. read more

Long time AMC member and frequent movie goer here. Today most food items are backordered from their distributor. Compared to other chains only popcorn refills on large popcorn orders. Premier member ship doesn't matter. After the facelift a few years ago this location gained the bar and better seating options, but still shows it's poor management and chain features. I attempted to contact AMC directly but couldn't get connected to a human being. I saw a movie in a tidy theatre but made the mistake of entering the unkept women's restroom. There's really no excuse for a business to have a women's bathroom in the condition I found it. There was trash all over the floor. The toilets were not flushed. There were sanitary products sitting on the toilet (gak!) There wasn't soap in one of two dispensers. The trash was even overflowing. There was no toilet paper in two stalls. These AMC theaters are after my heart. At the moment this one is my favorite in the immediate area, but I still have a wishlist when it comes to this theater. Most importantly: reclining chairs! This has become such an important thing to me when it comes to movie theaters and I know that makes me a spoiled theater goer, but c'mon, you know you love when you can watch a movie in a reclined, feet up position... it's literally why people annoyingly kick their feet up on the row before at non-reclining theaters. And you can move the middle arm rest to create more of a couch feel. Selecting your seats carefully is only important here if you intend to move the arm rest. Secondly: Assigned seating! No asking anyone to move down so you and your friend can sit together... just purchase your seats together. Thirdly: Their popcorn is top of the line! Super buttery and they have options for other flavors too! But on my wishlist: Better food and more competent managers. My mind was blown that with a super long concession line, the employees seemed unsure of everything and took no initiative. We ordered a hot dog and saw five hot dogs on the little rotation device when closer to fifteen could fit comfortably. A second after ordering we were told the one hot dog that was ready to go was already bought by someone else. The other four needed about ten minutes. Why... if these hot dogs are clearly selling out... did hey only add four more hot dogs, you ask? Because they haven't had a break. That's verbatim what I was told when I ask... what? So I come back fifteen minutes later and now there's no line, but the same four lonely hot dogs are cooking and apparently they need ten more minutes... and they have no intention of adding additional hot dogs. They gravely underestimated the cook time for whatever reason. In the meantime, I ordered their pretzel bites with my popcorn. The pretzels were really soft, but maybe a little too chewy and the Tostito's cheese had this weird plasticy taste. Food, not my favorite. Service, not great. For a movie theater experience, I enjoyed myself. Future ventures, I'll just stick with popcorn and eat before. Also you should know, this theater is tucked away and if we hadn't plugged it into the GPS, we definitely wouldn't have found it because it's on a road with only one way in and out. read more

Visited here for the first time to see "Godzilla king of monsters". I really liked this theater & will definitely visit here again. The reclining seats are really comfy & the theater was very clean. Don't bother buying popcorn for $9.50 at a matanee showing, because the popcorn is not fresh and I believe was left over from the day before (because it had no taste and there was not fresh popcorn smell in the air, that you get when you make popcorn). AMC can not expect to win back customers by charging top dollar for inferior product! People talk and word gets put fast! read more

Wow what an experience! & I mean that in the most disappointed and horrible way possible. Let's start by addressing the extremely rude staff and even ruder and condescending management. Next thing, the theater is totally old and outdated. Time to get with the times, update and hire some friendly staff members! This place looks like it hasn't been updated since it was built even though it supposedly was. Lookin like some run down kids play zone. Gross. Seats were a mess. Food selection was awful. Bar prices were a joke... $30 for two shots. LOL. Will absolutely never be returning to this tragic joke of a theater. With the majority of today's theaters updating themselves to a more modern, cozy and upscale design, this one is a true eyesore and the staff just add to the misery of the experience. Do yourself a favor and drive 10 minutes down the road to Emagine theater in Frankfort for a MUCH better time in a CLEAN theater - with an actual food menu - where the staff doesn't look at you like you're beneath them or make you feel unappreciated. I go to this AMC frequently because it's by my house. Over-priced like every other movie theater but I love the movies so it's not that big of a deal. Went to see Jurassic Park Dominion. We arrived about 45 minutes early so we went to the bar. I don't drink because I can't (chronic illness) but I've never been a drinker anyway. I wanted a Virgin Piña Colada so I asked the bartender what's the price difference between a regular and non-alcoholic drink. He was rude from the onset, which included being on his phone when we sat down at the bar and being visibly annoyed when I asked. He went to the register and pressed a few buttons just to tell me there's no price difference. I truly wanted the piña colada so I paid $15 for a poorly made, shit tasting drink. My best friend got a 5 oz wine that cost $18. Also, you have to add gratuity when you pay with a card. The prices are criminal, of course, but the bartender was a jerk the entire time. My friend and I drove from Joliet to see Second Act with JLo. It wasn't playing at the Joliet theatre anymore so we sucked it up and went to new Lenox about 25 minutes away. We got to the theatre and the cashier told us that the projector was broken and the movie would not be showing. We waited for the manager to walk up because they were going to give us free movie passes (which is great USUALLY but we just drove here for nothing now). The manager comes, grabs the passes, and then walked away without an apology. The next showing was more than 2 hours later so we just left and went home. Now we have movie passes for a theatre we'll never go back to. read more

Clean theatre and restrooms. The staff at the entrance do not multi task well; however, maybe they are new employees. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. They did not acknowledge us or check us in. While I understand they had customers, this was unusual as previous employees always multi-tasked well. Basically, we stood there needing assistance but did not receive it even after making eye contact with an employee. Another employee did make up for this, however. The server who sold us popcorn apologized for the lack of assistance when we first came into the building. She stated that they should have checked us in. So, she checked us in, apologized again, exchanged brief pleasantries and we were on our way. This employee understands the service aspect of the service industry. read more

I drove about 45 minutes to go see Captain marvel at the IMAX. I live in bourbonnais about 10 minutes away from Paramount theater where they have a screen that's about the same size with much better reclining seats and it would have cost about half the price. So I had to learn my lesson the hard way. It's not worth it to make the extra trip and pay the extra price for the IMAX when it really isn't any better. Actually, because of the seats, the big screen at Paramount it slightly better not to mention the fact that it's a better deal. For the price: poor customer service; when I asked for 1 additional container to split the $12 popcorn between 4 of us and I was given a 1lb little paper sack that the butter ran right through. I again asked the front end staff for a better container and I was told that that's all they can give and "it's my problem". Good to know. Website says "reclining seats" that's false. Spent $106 on 4 tickets and snacks but couldn't get a .50 container. Pathetic. read more

The clerks were friendly enough. You haft stand in in line for your pop longer than the concession stand or ticket line. That really aggravated people. The movie theatre smelled like a zoo. My family and I frequent this theater a lot, and I have never ran into any problems. I have never has any problems with the food; however, it would be nice if the stubs members had their own dedicated cashier as the people who are not stub members have a long waiting period, especially on busy days. read more

The only thing I like about this place was the movie itself. I paid $15 per ticket for Imax to walk in and not have recliner seats! It was hot in the theater instead of a comfortable environment. I went to get a refill on popcorn and was told to wait in the original line with 15-20 people deep. It would have taken seconds to put popcorn in the bucket! Oh and a less than 1 year old crying in the theater. To top it off about 5 people walked into the theater looking for their seats. When I bought my tickets online I was not warned about the need of being 17 years old or need a parent older than 21 to be with kids trying to watch a rated R movie and had to leave and get my tickets refunded. The guy at the counter was also an ass about it and totally ruined my day. read more
