Bought a car from them living in Michigan . They told me they had to charge Michigan tax title and license. When the Ohio title showed up with no license plate, I was told I need to do that on my own. But they took my money to do that. Bought another car in 2023 from a different Ohio dealer, and 2022 from a Pennsylvania dealer and that all went smoothly receiving my Michigan title and plates. This dishonesty is just disgusting. For them to cheat and pocket the couple hundred dollars they deserve to lose customers forever. read more

I was all set to have the most amazing new car buying experience. While the sale was finalized the salesman said I'll have the service department look it over and make sure that there isn't anything than needs to be done. Then the salesman (Corey Schenher) changed the tires on my new car without talking to me. He had the service people replace them with tires that were considerably lower quality than the factory tires. The original tires only had 22k on them. The service people overlooked necessary needs like the oil change which was 1.5 months overdue. Air filters were to be changed too. When I tried to work with them to get this car back on track. They had me bring the car back and gave me a dirty car that drove horribly. They were gonna rebalance the tires and see if that corrected the vibration/hump that started at 40mph. And they were gonna check the alignment because I tired the auto lane assist off and it pulled severely to the right. They did a 2 wheel alignment and didn't rebalance the tires as promised. Needless to say I was pissed because this guy didn't keep his word, again. They then gave me the run around and said they called when they didn't. And when I called back failed twice, didn't return my calls. This has all been happening at my most busy time of year when I have zero extra time for solving new problems created by others. I took it to Belle Tire and paid about $200 for a full 4 wheel alignment (needed) and had the tires rebalanced (needed). the vibration is better now but means there is a bad tire on the car. I still have a significant vibration/hump. DONT GO HERE. They don't keep their word, solve problems they create or treat customers fairly. read more

Years ago I went to Jim White Toyota and bought a car from Rouen due to the poor quality service I received as a car buyer. Now I have called and had a question for the service manager and the store manager. Neither returns phone calls. Who would purchase a car from such a business. I want quality service and as a 69 year old, I was taught to return phone calls at my place of business If I would buy a car from there I take it they don't call back. We have purchased 2 Toyotas and leased one most recently from JW Toyota. I was so pleased for years with the treatment and service until I leased my 2nd Highlander in 2021. There was a rattle underneath from the beginning. Every time I brought it in to be checked I was given a ridiculous excuse as to the cause. The 4th time I brought it in I had someone ride with me to hear it, then the service department looked it over again. I was told afterward that they took out a same year Highlander from the lot and that it had the sound too. They were calling it "operating as normal" because of that. Unbelievable. I brought it to a different dealership, they found the problem, said it was under warranty, and repaired it when they received the new part. Let me preface this by saying.. I had to return to Jim White Toyota 4 times for the same problem. Not exaggerating.. 4 times. One of my loaners was a 2016 vehicle that left me stranded for close to 2 hours, thanks to a dead battery. Anything offered for the inconvenience? Nope. When I picked my car up last night, I noticed that the dealership put 128 miles on my car, to find and fix the problem. Did they put gas in the tank or offer an oil change or anything?? Um no. Do I have proof of this? Sure do. I took a picture of the odometer at drop off and pick up... why you might ask? Well, because they barely drove it around the block during my other 3 visits. If I were to rate Keith in service that would be 4-5 stars. He actually has respect for customers and showed interest in resolving my complaint. He was great with communication. His team, not so much. Art, the service manager, is less than impressive. I found it cute that he suggested that a noise coming from around my feet, was a loose seal with the windshield. Beep. Wrong. Drew, who I believe is Art's boss, well he lacks customer service abilities as well. He apparently cannot return phone calls. Bravo sir. This dealership will not get one cent from me. I purchased my Camry from a dealership in Akron, and once my warranty is up, Peace. I went to get an oil change there bc they mailed me a card saying they would do an inspection during the oil change. My car was making noises so I figured I'd ask them about it. I told them about the noise and that I thought it was my brakes when I took it in. After the oil change, they said my brake pads were low but ok until the next oil change. So I asked them what the noise was if it wasn't the brakes and they said I had to make an appt to get it more thoroughly looked at (the appt just to get looked at was over $100). I ended up taking it to my friend's mechanic who looked at it for free and fixed it the same day. It was in fact my brakes and they said I wouldn't have made it to the next oil change! I couldn't believe that Jim White Toyota's mechanic told me it wasn't my brakes and that my brakes were ok to drive until the next oil change just to get me to spend $100 on a diagnostic appt! Seriously a dishonest way to take advantage of people to make a few extra bucks- not to mention a total disregard for my safety since it was my brakes. Oh and they don't honor their coupons- I had a coupon for an oil change for $XX but it ended up being $20 more bc they said that my car needed different oil so the coupon only discounted a certain amount- none of this was on the coupon or in the fine print. read more

My dad and I went to look at a few different Avalons because he's a big fan of the vehicles. We got there around 7 PM and they were open till 9 PM. We looked at two different Avalons and liked one so started negotiating the price. During this time, the used car salesman (Corey) was super nice. However, when we told him that we couldn't do the price that he "supposedly" negotiated with not only his manager, but his general manager (at home), he lost his mind! He angrily stood up and told us that he wouldn't come to a hospital and not pay for the service (not sure what his point was here). His exact words were "there is the door" as he walked outside to park the car that we had liked. My dad and I have never witnessed such unprofessional and quite frankly, childish behavior! I guess we all know why salesmen get the rep they do! We will not be going back to this dealership at all... and will recommend all of our friends and family against using this dealership as well! We took our Toyota Camry in to have the driver's side window (that had gone off the track) repaired. It had gone off the track when we rolled it down a few days previous, and we couldn't slip it back into place ourselves. Our usual mechanic was busy, and I needed the window to stay in place so I could commute 86 miles round trip to my job in another town. We called around Toledo for help, and Jim White Toyota repair shop said they could get us in the next day. We took a chance and took the car in early and waited in their waiting area for two hours. I needed to leave then since I had a work-related appointment that afternoon, so I asked if they had fixed the window. (Our usual mechanic fixed it in like ten minutes before a couple years ago, so one would think in two hours it would be fixed.) No, they had done nothing to fix it, and then they tried to tell us that we needed a $400+ window (a whole new window) plus labor costs or else they wouldn't repair it, for a total of $600. (The last time we took it to our usual mechanic for this same fix, he'd done it for nothing!). The window is not broken and our usual mechanic told us that it just needs to be put back on the track inside the door frame. I was desperate to get to my work appointment, so I said let me have the car and we'll call it a day. Jim White Toyota wouldn't give us the keys unless we paid them an outrageous "diagnostic fee". Insult upon injury, when we got home we noticed that a small part of the door panel is missing! They not only didn't fix the window problem, they took off and lost a part of the door panel itself! Maybe they're just sloppy or incompetent mechanics, but with the high pressure up-selling of expensive parts (a whole new window) one has to wonder if they wanted that part of our door's panel to sell on as parts to another Camry owner in need of a repair. Jim White Toyota in Toledo is a total scam outfit, IMO. Avoid this repair shop at all costs. read more

I like to DIY my maintenance as much as I can, but the first oil change was coming up--a cheap maintenance--so I thought I would just take it in to them to start developing a relationship with the service department. Things went OK. So, at a later time I had another scheduled maintenance coming up which included inspecting several things and an oil change. I called them to find out how much it would cost to have this maintenance done. They told me over $300. I was shocked and asked, "Why." They tried to tell me they had to drop fluids, clean the injectors, and do other things that were not part of this scheduled maintenance. Total BS all the way. This is a photo of the damage done to my car by Jim White Toyota on Central Avenue in Toledo, OH. My Prius was in for service and when I picked it up, I was told that the car came in that way. Several Times!!!! I refused to leave stating that the car was in good condition when I brought it in and I was not going to drive it away with the damage they had done to the car. So I stood there fuming until Finally, they provided me with a loaner saying they would check their camera tomorrow. There was no one there to look at the cameras at that time. The service person smirked when he asked for my proof of insurance, etc. The loaner was on empty . . . . . . . so I had to put gas into it to get home. The next morning I returned and talked to the service manager who said--yes--they had done the damage--it was just an accident and they would repair the torn up bumper. NOOOOO! A new bumper, I said. Manager said no new bumper--repaired only because of insurance, etc. Dave called them and said we would come and get the car and have it repaired and turn the expense in to Jim White's insurance company. That worked--new bumper. I feel that I was treated like an idiot who would drive the damaged car away because I was female--aged female. Jim White took the position that others have brought damage vehicles in--so their position was justified. They do not have a procedure set up so that an employee looks at the car and notes damage when the car is brought in. I wonder why?????? Jim White Toyota will never see the whites of my eyes again. If I could leave a review with zero stars I would. I just bought a used car (1 year old) and the first time I tried to start it the battery was dead. Jumped it, drove it, parked it for the night. Next morning battery is dead. My husband put it on a battery charger and it registers "bad". Sales person says it was fine when he sold it. BS. Took it into different Toyota dealer to buy a new battery. They informed us it's under warranty and they will take care of it. Meanwhile I get a call and back from that dealership that they don't understand why Jim White even sold me the vehicle because it has TWO open recalls on it! Had a brief conversation with a salesman here earlier this year after getting a good offer on a new car from a dealership a long drive away -- Draper Toyota in Saginaw. When the salesman responded to the price Draper had offered, he arrogantly claimed that nobody could sell the car for that price. Mike was my salesman and gave me a descent price and good price on my trade in. Service has been less than stellar. Had a gasket replaced in my door that still is not a proper seal and had a metallic vibration coming out of one of my speakers. Both repairs will require me to go elsewhere to get them done properly. Their service manager is unprofessional and tries to be your buddy instead of treating you like a customer that seriously wants their vehicle repaired. When I went to discuss my displeasure with him, while he was talking to me two of his employees were rolling their eyes as if they had heard his story before. Did not seem like his employees respect him very much. I do understand why. Have one more complimentary oil change left and then I will go to another Toyota dealer for service. Her salesman was Jeff, and although it was a used vehicle and comes as is, we truly feel he led her wrong in the buying of it. She had such a bad experience in her first car buying. The engine had to be replaced within the first year that she had it. It's been a money pit. Clearly we were wrong for not taking it to our mechanic before buying it but they do have a service dept so we figured they would have inspected it when they received it and would have been honest. It's a shame because they could have been the place she bought her vehicles from for a long time to come. We will never be back. I have purchased three Toyota cars in two years from here, while the sales staff is excellent the service department is not! I had issues from day one with the last car I purchased from here and the service department was not helpful. I let them k is my tire had a bulge and they refused to change it(mind you I purchased the extra tire warranty plan for over $600.00 and that was to cover everything tire related) so then when the tire blew and it bent the rim they refused to change the rim. Said the other Toyota service department did not know what they were talking about! (Unfortunately I was out of town when the tire blew and the Toyota dealer that gave me the new tire did not have a run to fit my car at that time so was told to go to my Toyota dealer when I returned home the next day). The tire pressure sensors were damaged and were not working properly after that and Jim White did nothing to fix it until after the warranty so then thought they would charge me $120.00 to reset the sensors. Yeah that's not happening. Strike 2 I left money in my cup holder(which I should have known better) and you guessed it someone took the money. Strike 3 was had my 50,000 mile check done(which I paid for) and they swear my breaks were perfect, but just a couple weeks later I go to trade my car in to find that one side of the breaks were worn down to almost nothing! The dealer I traded the car into was not kidding when they said they were worn you could see it. Jim White service department denied that the breaks were bad and again the other dealership does not know what they are talking about! That was the final chance I will EVER give Jim White Service Department! You have jeopardized the safety of my family enough as well as stolen from me! I feel bad because there is a couple AMAZING sales guys at Jim White, but the dishonesty and bad service from the service department overrides there performance! read more

Purchased a newer used vehicle and received a deal that worked for me. However, when I asked a few questions the following day (the night before we were rushed because they were about to close and my one of my family members had to get to a dance at school which she was running late to) to the used car manager (J.), in the middle of the conversation, he told me that he never had a customer like me because I had questioned a few things such as if there was a keyfob for the vehicle that should have one anyways and a bag of tools that were not mine but were found in the trunk of the car (bag smelled like cat urine). HE (used car manager) was irked because I questioned him on a few things (I am not supposed to ask questions because they did not make any money off the deal???) and he responded not to kindly. In addtion, I had informed him that I had purchased a new vehicle in 2005 and then again in 2013 and he responded by saying " that was 2005 and this is 2013." Really??????? I came back to purchase a car from this dealership because of good customer service previously and this is what you say to a repeat customer because I feel that I should have a keyfob for this 2011 vehicle. By the way, the key fob would be useful because you cannot open the liftgate without a keyfob unless you unlock all the doors from the driver side door. So based on this Q and A session with J., I would not recommend to go and buy a newer used car from them. read more
