Tarps were laid down on floors adjacent doors were sealed with tape and plastic was hung to seal off living room to reduce dust. First red flag was that he showed up with gravel that was literally covered in mud (it was essentially half mud, half gravel). He came with a helper and did a couple of hours of work but then asked for money because he needed to get more supplies (next red flag) so we gave him $350 (the total quote for the job was $1000). He left his helper at my house doing nothing and returned 2-3 hours later (smelling of alcohol--red flag!) picked up his helper and said he would be back the following day. He never came. He called later and said he'd be back on Monday but needed more money for supplies and asked to stop by to pick it up. Like total idiots we gave him another $400 and guess what? He never came back on Monday. Didn't return calls or texts. Complete scam. I thought I had done my due diligence but be careful, I think that Yelp sends you contacts that you didn't actually contact in the first place. When I look back at reviews, I can't believe I went forward with this guy. He is a completely dishonest person and I kick myself for being so trusting but, live and learn. Karma will get him though I'm sure. I bought him and his helper all this food and drinks and had planned to give a really nice tip. When you take advantage of good people, it comes back around. I hired a landscaping company for a project at my home, and at first glance everything looked…read moregreat. Unfortunately, once I started really inspecting the work, I realized how careless and unprofessional the job actually was. The biggest issue was discovering that leftover cement from the project was dumped into the city park behind my house. I was contacted about it and am now facing the possibility of fines because of THEIR actions. Anyone who lives in Rancho Cucamonga knows the city takes pride in its parks and stays on top of code enforcement issues, so this is a serious problem. On top of that, instead of properly hauling away the dirt and rock they removed from the work area, they dumped it onto another section of my yard that already had established landscaping, plants, and decorative red rock. They completely ruined an area that was already finished and well maintained. When I contacted the owner and asked him to come back and fix the issues, he was extremely difficult to work with and acted like he didn't care. There was no accountability, no urgency, and no concern about the mess and liability they created for me. It felt like once they got paid, the customer service disappeared. Now I'm stuck having to pay someone else to clean up their mistakes before I potentially get fined by the city. I would absolutely never use this company again and would strongly recommend others think twice before hiring them. A landscaping company should leave your property better than they found it, not create damage, dump construction material illegally, and leave the homeowner to deal with the consequences.
