What a great little place! Hidden down a small side street, this place is a place to go. Our visit was on a Friday night. The may have onsite security checking ID's and for weapons. The staff was friendly but it was the bartenders that made our night fun. They made sure you were taken care of and that no one cut in front. Their drinks were cold too. This is a cash only bar but they have an ATM inside. On this particular day, they had a live DJ that kept the vibe going. This is a must place to visit. read more

The claim to fame of being "the coolest bar in town" is a longshot... After a long week at work, you and your buddies want to go out, enjoy some beers, and unwind, right? Well unless you feel like getting harassed by a drunken bar owner I would suggest going elsewhere. After my friends and I were there for approximately 20 minutes, my friend's service dog gave him an audible alert. Well, this did not sit well with the owner sitting at the bar, who was obviously intoxicated. The bar owner immediately began to question my friend by asking things like, "What's your condition" and "You look fine, why do you need a service dog". This is in blatant violation of the ADA protection. After my friend advised the owner that the dog is a federally registered service dog, which he does not have to, the owner became more confrontational about the situation. You could see how embarrassed the bartenders were when they were forced to walk over and advise us to leave the premise. Avoiding conflict is a core value for us, so we left. Never in our lives have we seen or been a victim of such a case of drunken disrespect and discrimination. The owner is rude and disrespectful to his clients, staff, and himself. If you ever consider finding a spot to hang out after work, I would reconsider this location and any others owned by this low life. I approached the bar (during a busy hour) and intended to wait patiently for my turn. However, a woman next to me thought I was trying to jump her in line, which I wasn't. I tried to explain this to her but she wanted to get loud as drunks do; to my regret I matched her noise. The bartender in question "intervened" several times telling us to quietin' down which I obliged each time while expressing that I didn't want faster/special service. Eventually the female to my left was served and left and I continued to wait. But the bartender had chosen a side and determined to skip around me on purpose. As proven (should management choose to watch the video) as she intentionally served newcomers around me. I have done this before as a bartender to signal if someone was cut off. So I asked her "am I cut off, should I leave? Which she ignored and didn't respond. I went to the other end of the bar and waited patiently to make my order. While the second bartender is making my order, the bartender I had just left came down to that end and finally acknowledged me with a shi**y remark, to which I responded and called her out for jumping around me without any regard to me standing up for myself while I had waited on her to serve me. As a result I paid for my shot and beer but before I could drink the drink I had paid for I was kicked out. Literally ordered and began to walk away and was tapped on the shoulder and asked to leave before even drinking any of my beer. If you were going to throw me out, just don't serve me. But no a choice was made to take my money then kick me out. I even tipped 20% because the bartender who did eventually take care of me was wonderful and deserved it. Not once did I say anything untrue. And not once did say anything that didn't match the verbiage, energy, or malice that she had towards me. Moral of the story; if you're a man and a girl shouts at you at the bar in front of a female bartender here, don't stand up for yourself. If you do, that female bartender will you treat you like a POS and then have you kicked out after you fork over some more money. What an absolute scumbag. read more

In downtown Yuma, Arizona. Don't know why I was here, but probably just got curious. Big sign outside that says "The Coolest Bar". A smallish old red brick building, but with a great Wild West dive bar feel inside. Lots of fun. Give it a shot after you loose at the casino or visit the Yuma Prison. read more

"The coolest bar downtown" is Jimmie Dee's tag line. It's kind of sad that it is the best bar Yuma has to offer. The only redeeming part of Jimmie Dee's was its 90's cover band, which rocked out pretty nicely to Everclear, Third Eye Blind, and Smash Mouth. 90's music is the new 80's music. One thing that's odd about parking in the area is that there's a "double curb" outside. When our hero got out of the passenger side, took one step... and then another, he almost tripped over the half foot high second curb. In hindsight, it's probably nice for people who drive lifted trucks, which is about half the bar. PROS: - Free popcorn made behind the bar, with less grubby hands in it than an open popcorn machine. CONS: - $9 for 2 drinks in a shabby bar that's not even half full. - Curbside parking only. read more

Traveling thru Yuma stopped at this bar that was recommended by our Uber driver. We went on a Thursday, which happened to be Ladies Night. We got there around 10:15 and the pace was slow, but everyone was cool, we didn't feel out of place. Around 11p, the place really picked up with a mix of young and older people, but again, everyone was super cool. The drinks are inexpensive and are pretty good. The bartenders do a great job of keeping up with the smiles and drinks. I'd wish I'd gotten their names, but both ladies managing the bar did great. I would definitely come back when in Yuma. Wow. I haven't been to a place THIS dive-y in years. I stopped at this place on a Thursday night on my way to White Sox Spring Training in Glendale, Arizona (Phoenix). First off, I was one of only 5 white people in the entire bar. The crowd is almost exclusively black or Latino. The music was a mix of Latin and hip-hop tunes. The beer was cheap. The parking was free on the street nearby. The girls here were REALLY trashy and ghetto-fied. Tattoos, tight dresses, and damn. I felt so dirty just being there. Ickkkkhhhhh! I'm still laughing at this place a month after I went. An extra star for the entertaining aspect of my experience. Anyway, it might be nice to bring a friend here as a cruel joke. I just discovered this is a stealthy place to watch football. The place has a handful of people so there is no one yelling. They don't sell food but they bring in tri tip and have $2 Bud Lights during the games. They also have fresh popped popcorn. read more

If you're going out in Yuma, you will soon learn that everyone eventually ends up at Jimmie Dee's before the night's end (or morning, lol). They usually have live music which sets them apart from other bars on Main Street. Jimmie Dee's is cash only. Once you walk in you won't want to leave so bring a fat stack of bills. They have outdoor seating and a patio if you're a smoker. And they have plenty of TVs with the game on. Make sure to be extra friendly to bartenders Brent and Sam. They're beautiful people and will take good care of you. Brent is the bartender with the beautiful beard. And Sam is so beautiful you'll be sneaking glances at her all night. read more

I've been here on thursday a couple of times. It is sooo packed and you can hardly move anywhere. If you like to feel like a sardine in a small can then this is your spot. The bartenders have attitude problems & they look like they wish they were somewhere else. Decor is retro pastiche---railroad ties and metal signs and weird crap hanging off the ceiling and walls, all of it real. It looked funky and retro from day one--anyone who calls it a dive bar just doesn't get it. Bar service front and back and when it gets packed, they set up a giant tub with ice and longnecks in the middle of the room. Nice. Local bands and groups traveling through the area. DJ plays on band breaks---constant action. Annual beach party to kick off summer includes the BongoButt Contest. The place is clean and has respectable clientele--lawyers, professionals and business owners hang out with the younger types. It doesn't attract gang members and it doesn't have more than its share of trouble. Any reviewers that bitched about dirty bathrooms or rude bartenders are fussy-ass pussies and are hereby welcomed to stay away. read more

Jimmie Dee's is cool because it's an orginal antique'ish bar off of Main Street. Most of the buildings on Main street are quite old but very quaint. The bar has a different band on Fridays and Saturdays and they always rock, drinks are not as much as if you were in Phoenix or San Diego so that's another good thing. Plenty of parking in the North parking lot and on Maiden street. Thursdays Ladies night is the best night and for a dollar a drink ladies can enjoy beer or cocktails and dance to DJ tunes, anyway it is a cool bar and only one option in Yuma read more

Jimmy Dees is getting a pretty bad rap with the comments. This bar is awesome! Great bands, great music during band breaks, great atmosphere, and good prices on drinks. Some of the bad reviews are from San Diego people, hard to believe since SD has its share of pretty bad bars. Jimmy Dees rocks. It is a very cool place, it is very safe, and its staff is awesome!
