This place had a wide selection of candies, chocolates, and other fun sweet tooth items. Cost does rack up fast, items are per pound. If you're come in for a few treats, you won't be disappointed. The staff were very helpful, and the store was quite clean. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely be stopping back in.

It was morning and the store was in "opening" stage with one employee there. The employee was a female and she was doing what I guessed were opening duties. The candies- too numerous to mention- were so cute, loaded with way too many Carbs, colorful and clever. I was singularly impressed with the stock. Just as I started to worry I was going to be ignored, the employee came up to me, offered assistance, and was a hospitable and enthusiastic soul. I saw two adult candy products in the aforementioned corner- rear east wall- including edible candy g-string. Store seems mostly for children. It was located within a plain, grey plaza. Because we were on vacation on June 7, 2024, we had to pop in... oh, who am I kidding? We would have anyway. For such a small shop, they sure offer quite an assortment of chocolates. My youngest chose a starfish and a sea turtle. They were $2.50 apiece. I chose a key lime cream in milk chocolate. A Dutchie (caramel/peanuts). And a sea salt caramel in dark chocolate. They were all so smooth and decadent. Not cheap, but very much worth it. Service was a bit slow that day. After we had made our choices and I paid, the young woman working that drizzly afternoon offered a piece each on the house. Lol. That was a bit backwards if she was trying to get more sales! I tried a blueberry cream in white chocolate. Its richness and creaminess took me by surprise. I would definitely recommend it. Afterwards, I did some research on this little place. I love the story that the owners posted on the Yelp page. It's not hard to believe that they once held the title of "Best Homemade Chocolate in America!"

They always encouraged me to come back, and I did. Quality is OK day-of. Most of it needs to be eaten quickly. For instance their watermelon or mangoes wont be good after a week. That's fine but $5.99/small melon or $1/mango are almost as bad as publix. Not quite but almost. Where's the deals? If its expensive, Where's the high quality? I respect their game and wish them luck but sadly its a closed chapter for me. Its not that im not going to return out of spite, but I wont be returning simply because there's no point to. They used to have beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, a nice freezer section. I even bought a tomato tree here once. I don't come often since it's not close, but every once in a while when I'm going to Costco, I'll just drive down a little bit further and stop in and pick up some things. I was so disappointed today. They've gotten rid of 99% of freezer section and they have the old cases for sale, so that's the end of that. Today they had long tables of garbage thrown on top and I'm not quite sure what it was, but people were digging through like it was some flea market garage sale. The entire store has changed and in my opinion not for the better. I was able to pick up a couple of avocados at 3 for a $1, a bag of potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, some tomatoes, and that's about it. I did notice that they had a table full of hot pickle tomatoes that expired 9/20/2025 so that did it for me. I don't understand why you would put out food no matter what price it is, after the expiration date. The other thing that bothered me was the 4% fee for credit card. I know as a fact, if you have the right credit card processing you pay 1.9%. They also had a tip jar at the check out...for what... so the salaried employee can slide your purchases across a scanner and you can put the items in the bags you bring. No one packs your bags here and they don't even have plastic or paper bags. With all the fees, the prices aren't any less than TJs or Aldi. I know now, I don't ever have to drive down here again.

That said, I have a sweet tooth, so I still loved it--and even though it definitely wasn't the lowest-calorie choice, it was absolutely worth it! The staff was friendly and patient, making the whole experience even better. If you're in the Pompano Beach area and craving quality homemade ice cream, Kelly's is definitely worth a visit.
