If you're a chocolate lover those should be your picks. We also got the lemon blueberry cookie which was very good, almost like a refreshing cookie. Still sweet, but not too sweet. I finally had a day off from work, the stars aligned, and I was in the area when they were open. The bakery's friendly owner, Jason, does double duty running the register and baking all the treats. He sells croissants both sweet and savory, cinnamon rolls, cakes, coffee cakes, tarts, pies, cookies, and cupcakes. Everything is made in house with quality ingredients. He also sells espresso and specialty coffee drinks. There is a counter with some stools if you want to eat in and there is a small table outside. Based on Holly S.'s visit and recommendations I asked for a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of coffee cake. While Jason was packaging my treats I couldn't help but admire an individual carrot cake and a chocolate cupcake topped with candy bar pieces. I took my baked goods with me to be enjoyed later. When I got around to trying the cookie it was loaded with chocolate and was the perfect amount of chewiness. The large slice of coffee cake had a tender crumb and was swirled with cinnamon sugar goodness. The cake slice and cookie was only $7 which seems like a bargain compared to what some bakeries I have been to have charged. It is hard to run a small business, especially these days, so come out and support Jason. if you want to order a custom cake he needs 48 hours and you can place your order on his website.

The cookie was good, not great... and not worth $7.92 (the price with tax included). The cookie had a lot of butter, and it was just placed in a standard brown paper bag. As you see in my photo, the butter from the cookie bled thru the bag. A place selling high-end cookies like this needs better packaging, y'think? In any case, I won't return out of principle.

The chocolate we bought was great. This time? Completely different story. We walked in--me and my 88-year-old father--and not a word. No "hello," no acknowledgment, nothing. Just silence. There was one other mother and daughter in the store, so it's not like they were slammed. We start looking around, trying to figure things out on our own. I noticed the sample tray under the glass dome and walked over. All that was left were crumbs. I joked, "Wow, those are really small samples," before realizing there weren't any samples left at all. The employee hears me, walks over, takes the entire tray away... and still says nothing. No "sorry about that," no offer to bring out more, no attempt to engage. Just removes it and goes back to ignoring us. At that point, we walked out. I'm not going to spend premium prices in a place that can't even manage basic customer service. If you want to charge premium prices, you need to provide premium service. That starts with something as simple as acknowledging customers when they walk in the door. I likely won't be back.
