Sure enough, he came back down and said, "Well, the damper blew when I adjusted the wires." He stumbled through an explanation and then said that he and his manager now believed the issue was actually the zone board, and that he would need to get a quote for that. Then he added, "By the way, can I take this damper with me?"--the same damper I paid for--because they "haven't really dealt with these types of systems before" and needed to do some research. Later that day, I received an invoice for $240: * $125 service fee * $90 labor fee This was for a visit where the technician damaged the part I purchased, fixed nothing, and took my damper with him. The next day, I received a quote for the supposed new issue--$680: * $45 return service fee * $383 for a zone board * $210 for another damper So not only were they planning to charge me to come back out to fix something they clearly didn't understand, they were also charging me for a new damper to replace the one they destroyed. I called and spoke with the manager to express my dissatisfaction and requested a refund for the $90 labor charge, considering the technician accomplished nothing and actually made the problem worse. The manager refused. Here's the kicker: I had Odyssey come out afterward. They tested everything thoroughly and confirmed the zone board is completely fine. They replaced the damper, and the system is now working perfectly. They charged me $300 total for the part, service fee, and labor. Fulford Heating and Air was an absolutely terrible experience. They clearly only care about the dollar rather than quality service and their customers. I would never recommend them to anyone.

He was able to diagnose that the fan motor in the air handler was bad. He had the part on the truck, and was able to get me up and going very quickly. He was very knowledgeable, wasn't in a big hurry, answered all my questions thoroughly, and took time to explain things. He also tested everything thoroughly before he left. Mason was such a blessing, and is a vital asset to your company. My unit is operating so much more efficiently now, and is able to maintain the set temperature on my thermostat. This was my first experience with Fulford Heating and cooling and overall I was very pleased.

I called Marvin and I advised him that I had renters in the unit and that they would be there when he arrived, he advised it would be an $85 dollar service charge, but that would go towards the cost of repairs if I decided to use him. Two hours after he was supposed to arrive on the job, I get a call telling me it would be $200+, I was shocked, I thought it was $85, then he told me that he had done the repairs, that the renters had told him to do the work??????? I was the only one that could authorize the work. He then told me that he did a service on the unit, put in freon in the system and he thought it could have a small leak (but did not check for the leak?), but said that he thought it would last at least two years, and that he would come back out at the start of the season to make sure it still looked good and follow-up service. The first time turning on the ac this year, nothing came on, I called him back and he said he would come over and check it. He advised that it needed a new compressor, that he could get the job done Wed or Thurs, I advised it would be more convenient for me to have the work done on Wed, he said he would check and get back to me..... never heard from him, so Tues night I send him a msg asking why, he said he text me, nope, then he said he might have sent me a msg from another number, nope, then said he could do it Friday, ok. Friday comes and my tenants advised they had been watching for him all morning, had not seen him, he sends me a text stating he had been out there all morning and that he was now waiting on another part that was leaking (stating that he was out there working on it Friday morning), but the ac unit sits in front of the window, and they were looking for him, but advise he never showed up. He text me and said that again, he was waiting on parts and they would be there at 5pm, so he would be at the house at 730am sat....... no call....no show..... send a text sat night....no response..... sunday morning he wants to start texting me telling me how much he has done and how he didn't charge me for this or that..... and arguing with me about stuff that has nothing to do with why my ac is not repaired...... then had the nerve to tell me "what I am not doing is begging for your business. Not meaning to be rude but that is not our business model." Never once did I ask anyone to beg, so I advised after waiting a week for the work to be done, I would find someone else to do it. I would not recommend using someone who does not call, does not follow-up and who is rude to the customer who pays his salary.

He just said if we would send a picture of the tank a couple of guys would be over to start removing it that afternoon. They arrived around 3:00 and Mark brought the new heater about an hour later. By 5:30 we had hot water again! All three of the men were very nice and well mannered and did a wonderful job. My brother had called two other companies and the prices were all very close, but he just really liked who he spoke with at Eastern. Sometimes you just need to go with your gut! Six years ago they replaced the air handler in my attic, so I knew they would be reliable and the guys back then were very nice and professional. So - they have two offices, 1 here in ILM and the 2nd in Jacksonville (hqtrs). The Jacksonville location sold me a maintenance agreement with two seasonal checks on my unit. They were impossible to deal with for an appointment, the woman at that office was just a grouchy bitch AND the second appt never happened because they do not return calls to schedule prepaid service - they apparently prefer to let your contract run out and ask for more money. It was all BS. The technician said she was the wife of an owner ‍. Who knows, who cares, right? So - my lesson learned was to not deal with that Jacksonville location. The Wilmington location was spot on with their work and that's all I care about. Oh. So the techs that showed up for this latest installation were awesome. I was WFH (thank you covid 19) and they went around the house and shut all of my windows when they were done. I finished work at 5 and the house felt good and I was so impressed with how they quietly got the job done and that they took the time to close up my house. What good guys. They showed up smiling and left like quiet mice.
