It was plenty for my husband and me to share. The soup is what drew me in. I love broccoli cheese soup. This soup is...unique. It's either going to be my favorite soup in the world or I'll never have it again. I haven't decided yet. The spice tastes like pickled jalapeños you'd get with stadium nachos. I'll revisit it since there was a ton of it. The sandwich was amazing. Great crispy bread that wasn't tough. It's hard to find one that does both. Meat was great and well seasoned. We got the tip dip (au jus) to dip it in and that was great. We will definitely be eating here again.

I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and unfortunately it tasted awful. The chicken salad itself wasn't good, with very large chunks of onion that completely overpowered the flavor. The shop also only offers one type of bread--white--which made the sandwich feel even more plain. Overall, the presentation looked sloppy and the taste was very disappointing. I always like to support local sandwich shops and spread a little love when I can, but this experience just didn't work for me. Sadly, I don't see myself coming back.

I'm a longtime local resident and I've heard wonderful things about the new ownership of the Meat…read moreMarket but haven't been in in a long while. Every Saturday we see them grilling out on the sidewalk on Wyoming avenue and wanted to stop by. It's such a fun tradition that's worth the stop off 75- you can take a walk around Wyoming Avenue to the Village Green or Crescent Park if it's a nice day! The shop is neat and cozy inside. They've got a great selection of wines and cold drinks. The only reason I took off a star is that the ordering process can be a little confusing. There was a handwritten sign for sandwiches, and some premade sandwiches in the case. But they looked a little bare- it wasn't clear that they came with toppings, could be warmed up, customized, etc. I took the leap and ordered one- the turkey and Colby on sourdough- and I found out that I could add toppings and that my bread was toasted. But I couldn't see them while making it to know whether it was made fresh or one of the ones in the display case. The sandwich was good- don't get me wrong! But it was a little basic for $13- mayo, lettuce, tomato (light on the toppings), red onion, and pickle. I think one thing that could've helped was some more specialty condiments- Dijon or dark mustard, a speciality aioli, etc. and the pickles were room temp dark green pickles (not fresh). Some fresh, crunchy homemade pickles would have taken this to the next level and really amplified that high quality meat that you're paying for. To the same point, none of the yummy looking salads or sides were labeled in the case. How much were they? Did they contain allergens? Could I get them as a side for my sandwich? Overall a great spot and we'll be back! But I'm left wondering if I'm getting the full experience or not because of the lack of ordering instructions inside. Oh- the staff were friendly and I'm sure could make up the difference! They happened to be busy because of the busy festival outside though, so I'm sure on a normal day they'd be able to provide more information.

I enjoy going in and browsing their selection. I wish they made some dishes more regularly like chicken fajitas! So far I've only found them there once! I like the decor from the coffee bean bags being used as blinds and the added touch of fresh flowers! The only thing I'm not to fond of is their cotton decor that they have if a few areas in the cafe'. My boyfriend and I were greeted right away and were told to sit wherever we like. The server was really kind she gave us some food recommendations on sides in which I tried their hash brown casserole. Not quite what I expected as it was a hashbrown mixed with cheese but it was pretty good. She allowed us to taste one of the beers before we committed on one. I haven't been to many cafés that have beer on tap but they have two kinds and I think that's pretty cool! I got a gingerbread latte which was tasty, not much of a gingerbread flavor. For food I ordered French toast with turkey bacon and it was perfection ! My boyfriend ordered a shrimp and grits and decided to get one to go because he had ordered it before and it's his favorite! We had informed the server about our to go Oder while ordering but when we received our check we didn't see it on there and ended up waiting a bit until it came out. They always have great food and great service. If you haven't been go try it!

I wanted to go to a non-Skyline chili parlor somewhere near I-275 as I was just driving through and wanted to try, well, the local delicacy. This place seemed well-regarded, and it was certainly very convenient to the interstate. The place was packed on Black Friday, which was a good sign. In any case--my "four-way beans" arrived quickly and was pretty tasty. Cheese and oyster crackers are what they are, spaghetti wasn't overcooked, and chili was nicely savory. Compared to inauthentic homemade renditions, I'd say the flavors weren't as strong--you can tell there's probably some chocolate, but the spices are muted, taking it perhaps down a notch in my book. But without expertise I can't say how that relates to how it usually is!
