Purchased a so called brand new Sea Pro 262 (2025) while on vacation. Put the boat in the water for the first time and immediately alarms are going off stating water in fuel. (Jimmy's Marine supposedly filled the tank as an infinitive for buying however only 30% full and obviously old gas or something because water in fuel alarm.) Called and was told it was fine and to use the gas in it and add more and it should fix the problem. It did not. The screen spontaneously stopped working along with the tilt trim and depth finder. Took the boat back to Jimmy's and was charged $600 for supposedly the first service. This is after all the issues as well as the time they had to look into a so called brand new boat while on vacation. This place is pathetic I will NEVER do business with these people again. Stay away from this place, nicest people ever until we actually purchased this boat and now they don't know you or care anything about you. read more

I recently brought my boat to Jimmy's marine for spring tune up. My boat is in Light keepers marine and I use it at least once a week to fish. The boat was running great and it was Jimmy's marine that did the last tune up. I took the boat directly to Jimmy's marine and left it for about a week. They did the tune up and replaced a throttle and shift cable. When I put it back in the water it was running very ruff and I couldn't get started one time. I let them know and they told me to bring it back in. When I went to pick it up they handed me a bill for $300.00. Boat was fine when I brought it in and not right after they gave it back to me. He said that they didn't damage the part and refused to do anything about it. Now I need to sue the company to get my money back. read more

Websites state open to 2:00 and others even 3:00pm on Saturdays. Arrived 1:40 today (saturday) for needed boat parts. Front doors are locked and people standing around inside. Pretty sad someone is actually there, and they will not help customers spending time and gas to get there. No concern for repeat customers evidently (bought a boat from them). Either Fix your website hours or honor your stated hours. We have done business over the years, but after this trip...and terrible experience we will not be back. Owner just doesn't care. read more

Much like Brian H.'s experience, I had a nightmare of a dealing with the owner, Jimmy this afternoon. I have never dealt with a businessman who treated his paying customers like I was treated today when I questioned a bill. I have had my boat in for service 3 times in the last 6 months, fairly routine stuff. The first time the tech was asked to check my battery charger and the trolling motor batteries, as they were not charging fully. When I asked her if she found the problem, she said everything was working properly. She went to the bench, got an extension cord, plugged up the charger and showed me the indicator lights were on, then billed me 1/4 hour at $90.00 per hour for this demonstration. This was my first red flag. When I got home, the battery system was still not working correctly. It turned out one of the two trolling motor batteries was bad, which should have been detected if the batteries were tested under load, like she told me they were. Anyway, I took the boat back in a few weeks later to address several issues, a couple of which had supposedly been "fixed" the first time. I had asked her on the first occasion to re-wire my navigation lights so that they worked properly. When I got the boat back after the first go round, they were not wired correctly. The bow lights were on in one switch position, the anchor light was on in the second position, but both lights would not operate at the same time as required by law when running at night. So when I took the boat back in for the second service, I asked them to correct this problem. They did.....and billed me for an hour's labor...after I had paid to have the problem fixed the first time. That brings me to the experience I had today. I was getting my boat ready for a fishing trip, and my boat trailer needed a few repairs. I took the boat/trailer by to have the "Y" support on the bow replaced (it was badly rusted, as was the mounting brackets, and to replace one of the two guide on posts, which were also rusted. I would normally have done this type repair myself, but I was in a hurry to get it done before my trip and didn't have the time. I learned my lesson the hard way. When I picked the trailer up I was charged $144.00 for the various parts (I had no problem with this), and over $700.00 in labor. I spoke with the owner, and told him I couldn't believe that it actually took that much time to make the repairs, he exploded....accused me of trying to "Jew him down" (his words), told me he was the kind of guy his daddy had warned him about , trying to get something for nothing, the kind of guy that made his work miserable. I told him I would pay the bill, and that I would not be back in the future. That really set him off. Just another example of the "padding" of the hours that is so obviously practiced here, I had asked the tech to put some grease in my single axle hubs before I left on my fishing trip. I was billed $6.19 for the grease and 1/2 hour ($45.00) for the service. $51.19 to unscrew plastic hub covers, put a grease gun on the nipples and pull the trigger a few times. Couldn't have taken more than 5 minutes. I would advise the you run, not walk, in the opposite direction. It must be nice to have so many customers that you can afford to run others away with abysmal customer service. My grandpa used to tell me that you could shear a sheep once a year for as long as they lived, but you could only fleece them once. I was fleeced. You don't have to be. read more

The parts department hates their customers. I don't know if another retail business that treats their customers with such disdain. It's a shame. There's a couple of guys here at the counter that are great resources and very helpful. The back of the store is the polar opposite. I want to like this business and do more with them but the parts staff makes it really hard. read more

I live in the Florida Keys and own two boats here. I have a place on waterway at Ocean Isle and wanted a boat for that area. Decided on Bulls Bay and Jimmy's is a dealer. Called, left word, received a timely response from Nicholas "Nick", Jimmy's son. Negotiated a trade, Nick went to marina, checked out trade, water tested and gave me a very fair number. Nick advised me of several options on the platinum hull models they had in stock and helped out getting exactly what I wanted. No tricks or gimmicks at closing. Straight forward and as agreed. They delivered my boat to marina and handled everything perfectly. The lady I dealt with in office was Virginia. She was absolutely wonderful. Took my boat (which was working great except for an intermittent alarm) there 3 months ago because they told me they had the diagnostics connection to troubleshoot why the alarm was going off. Apparently, they didn't actually have the connection or just chose not to use it. Instead, they dropped it at the ramp to test it and said they heard a knocking. So they pulled the head and said that a cylinder was shot and not only could they not fix it, but they couldn't even put it back together. So I dropped off a working engine 3 months ago only for them to tell me they can't fix it and can't even get it back to where it was before they started messing with it. They wouldn't even entertain boring and sleeving the cylinder to fix it which would typically run a couple hundred dollars. Instead, their only answer was a new engine for over $20k. Pathetic. I guess it's my bad for not having read the reviews before I tried using them. The kicker is that I had to pay them to break my engine. read more

5.0 star rating 7/5/2018 My Mercruiser engine indicated a fault "service engine soon". I called Mercury Marine" for advice since my mechanic was not able to resolve the issue after four tries trying everything from changing oxygen sensor, spark plugs, injectors, etc. They felt that my mechanic was spending my money and shooting in the dark. They suggested asking Jimmys Marine, a certified and trained Mercury Marine shop to address my issues. It was clear to me the difference presented by a trained and certified Mercury Marine mechanic could do to resolve an elusive issue like vacuum leaks. Presently I ask specifically for Jimmy to do any maintenance or repair work on my boat. read more

I traveled 30 mins one way last week and purchased $200 in parts to repair my boat trailer. I returned to Jimmy's today to return $28 in parts still in their package and with my receipt and there was no one in the store that knew how to process a return. The store owner told me I could get a store credit or come back tomorrow when someone knew how to return parts. When I explained that neither option was good for me because I don't live nearby, the conversation got heated and they no longer would accept the parts return. Instead of opening the cash drawer for a $28 cash refund they drove a 10+ year repeat customer away. Not very smart business people, and arrogant, my advice is to steer clear of this business. read more

Simple boat repair project. It was a Tuesday and they said they'd be out by Friday. That turned into the next Friday and that turned into the next. I had to initiate all of the follow up calls. One time they said they'd check and call me back in 10 mins. The call never came. Missed a lot of good weekends without my boat. I had someone else fix it which only took them a few days as a part had to be ordered. I have never heard back from Jimmy's. So, Jimmy (or whoever), if you are too busy, just tell your customers you are too busy and don't string them along. Inexcusable!!! Took my new Honda outboard to this authorized dealer because it was stalling. They cleaned the carburetor, charged me several hundred dollars and said it now worked fine. I asked them to run it before I left to check and sure enough it still stalled. The technician said that all Hondas do that when you give them gas too quickly. I told him that is not what I heard nor was the case when I first got the motor. The manager told me the same thing "this is the way Honda motors operate." He told me if I disagreed I could take my complaint to Honda. I made a video and called up the Honda district representative. He said it was a definitely a need to replace the carburetor and he would send it free and have it replaced. I was not impressed with Jimmy's customer service, knowledge nor their tactic of blaming the engine manufacturer. I bought a Honda motor because of its reliability. But I will be taking it to someone with more knowledge and more willing to take responsibility rather than send someone away with a defective motor. read more
