On March 12,2014 my wife and a girl friend were traveling from OIB north on Hwy 17 when some dashboard lights came on and the SUV started to run rough. They stopped at Jims about 3:00 PM. Jim advised her not to drive the car any more. However he said that he couldn't work on it for several days because of the volume of work he already had. Jim personally took my wife and her friend back to our house and arranged for a rental car for the next morning. Jim stayed late at his shop and determined the problem and went to a local parts place and bought the needed part and fixed the car that night. Jim called me at home about 7:00 pm that night and told me this. He said he would pick up my wife and her friend the next morning and bring them back to his business where they could get their car. Jim picked them up early the next morning and then they were on their way. He charged only for the repair work and nothing for his extra effort and going beyond normal expectations. My wife found Jim to be a fine gentleman and was extremely impressed with his conduct. This should have been written weeks ago, I do apologize for not doing it right away. Jim's Car Care was amazing. My daughter was about 5 hours away from home, vacationing in Ocean Isle, and her car broke down. This is a hard thing to hear on a Sunday, especially knowing that there are no auto shops open on Sunday's. Luckily her friend had a car as well, so they weren't stranded. As a new resident to the area I was at a loss as to where to go to have my car serviced. It may sound simple, but it's not. I wanted someone who was honest, capable and reliable to be my 'go to' guy for service. I checked a lot of online resources about customer experiences in the area. I was amazed when I walked in to find a professional front office team fully equipped to handle my needs. I was welcomed to coffee or soft drinks and shown to the comfortable waiting room. I had an issue with the hub/wheel sensor on our vehicle recently and wanted it looked at. Of course, I went to see Jim and his staff to see what the issue was. First time customer. I brought my Tucson in (on the same morning I called) with a nail in a tire. I know it was a minor issue compared to some problems, but from the minute I walked in I could tell just how professional everyone was. When the work was completed they explained the type of repair that had to be done to the tire and the testing that was involved. I was literally in and out in under 30 minutes. I have never bothered to write a review for a business before, but this service was outstanding. I was traveling to Ocean Isle from Pittsburgh when something on the highway flew into my car. I called Jim's Care Care because they seemed to have excellent ratings and I was not disappointed. They check the car over and repaired enough for me to SAFELY return home and didn't charge me. The facility was clean and the waiting room was full of HAPPY people. They kept me informed of their progress and explained what their plan was. I have to say that Jim has a great ability to diagnose a problem that you are having with your car. He is usually spot on. Recently I had Nissan replace a transfer case on my SUV. After the repair they did a test drive and told me they heard some noise but it was probably road noise from my tires. I asked Jim to drive my car as the noise was really load. After driving the car for 15 seconds he immediately told me the ball Joint on my right front tire was causing the noise and needed to be replaced. Nissan's tech had no clue. Jim is honest and fair and I would not take my car to anyone else. PS: The car drives like new....NO NOISE!!! read more

A few day after a quick diagnostic examination, required parts were installed, and I can now drive with confidence in knowing I again have a working horn in my vehicle. This is definitely the cleanest and most friendly car care center I have been in. Everyone is super nice and welcoming which immediately lets you know you've come to very good place. I had asked them to check my brakes thinking it might be time for new ones. They could have easily told me that I did need new ones. Instead they were honest and showed me pictures of my brakes taken by the technician and explained in detail why my brakes were still good. As, expected, Jim's staff was ready for my car at the appointed time. The scheduled was completed timely and I was given a thorough health report on my 2012 Ford Edge. With nearly 100,000 miles on the odometer, there were maintenance items coming up and I was made fully aware of them.
