I was heading home the following morning and wanted to get the fuel top-off task out of the way before I returned my vehicle. I did a search for a gas station close to the hotel where I was staying at. I found this Speedway that was open 24 hours. It was a few blocks away. Perfect! Although this gas station is open 24 hour every day, it was lacking lighting when I got there after 10 pm. My guess for the dimness is that the convenience store wasnot be open -- just the gas pumps were available. It wasn't dark enough for me to whip out the flashlight feature on my phone to see the gas pump. However, I had to when I was using the keypad. If you are a cat with night vision, you'll be fine. Otherwise, bring a light of some sort. I found the Alt ID option and entered my phone number to earn points. I then inserted my credit card and fuelled my rental vehicle. I got a receipt when I was done. This gas station was clean. Well, I'd like to think so. I probably didn't see any dirt because it was so dark. It's a decent gas station in Richfield. I feel that there needs to be at least one light somewhere to make it more inviting and safe when you're fuelling after 10 pm on an October evening. (413)

The person at the counter (a visibly older male) was trying to buy cigarettes and the staff refused to sell them to him without an ID. The back & forth went on for 3-4 minutes. The girl behind him in line tried to step in and that ended up being another issue. Needless to say it was A LOT going on for just trying to grab a few things. When I got up to the register the cashier said "let me make sure these aren't expired" about the pop I grabbed out the cooler which was concerning because why would y'all be selling expired products when you barely have any? Also very musty... which I don't understand for a gas station. A gym I can understand but why is the gas station so smelly?!

I arrived at the restaurant a little early, so thanks to Google Maps, this Speedway served as my fill-up. It's on the corner of 60th and Portland, and located right next to a very architecturally interesting Dairy Queen. I entered on the 60th side as there's significant road work on Portland when I was there. So for what I needed (a rental car fill up - self serve), with easy access and minimal wait, this place does what it's supposed to. The neighborhood bonus was the before mentioned Dairy Queen and a most interesting Know Name Records across the street. And it was easy to get back to the 5-8 club on time.
