In a word - Fantastic. And I never got to meet him. Here's the story. Temps were dropping into the 30's and our trailer furnace decided not to work. The campground host recommended Jim and I called him up. I explained the issue and Jim said he was very backed up and may not get to me for a day or two. Then, he explained that the problem was most likely a thermal switch, and he very patiently explained to me that a few raps on the furnace may un-stick the switch, and waited for me to do this a few times and see if the furnace would work. I was on the phone with him for at least 10 minutes while we went thru all this. We never got the furnace going, but I knew what to look for. Jim said he was going to be in the area the next day, and to give him a call to see if he had the time. After talking to Jim, I removed a panel on the furnace and the switch was right there. As a test, I overrode the switch just to see if it really was the switch - and it was. I got the $7 part at an RV store soon after. In summary, Jim was fantastic to deal with. We were vacationing in South Dakota and staying at the KOA in Rapid City. My husband became ill and spent six days at the local hospital. Meanwhile, the black tank in our RV wasn't draining completely. The KOA gave me a business card for Jim's Mobile RV and Trailer Service. I called and he was able to fit me in the next day. Not only did he clean the gray and black tanks, he taught me how to take care of the tanks. Jim saved me a second time... The KOA let me stay longer than my reservation, but wanted me to move the trailer because our space was reserved for someone else. I called Jim to see if he (or someone he knew) could help me. He found someone, but first he wanted to call the KOA manager. My phone rang a few minutes later and it was the KOA manager telling me she was holding our space for more 10 days. If every repair person and company was as good as Jim there would never be any complaints! My repair necessitated 2 visits, he always called ahead to let me know a more accurate ETA and I never felt rushed by him. I am new to this life and used my time with him to greatly extend my RV knowledge. He spotted a problem with my RV electrical system and took the time to explain the problem in detail, and then solved it! He was very kind and well mannered as well. I had 1 problem that he could not solve, and, in my presence, called the company that could and made an appointment for me. My Dometic refrigerator died. No power. I did some trouble shooting at midnight but in the morning called Jim's and left a message. He called back within two hours and walked me through further trouble shooting. He is very Knowledgeable and took me step by step diagnosing the problem. I took the part to a nearby RV parts store and replaced it. Jim said that if the parts store didn't have it to text him back and he'll look in the back of his van. While staying at RV campground in Hermosa, SD our A/C quit. I called many RV service places and no one would give me appointment or try to diagnose problem. However when I called Jim's service, he took the time on the phone to diagnose the problem and talk me through with fixing the issue. Jim was amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. I called him on the phone, and he was not available to come by and fix my issue. However, he did stay with me on the phone for a long time and helped me troubleshoot the issue. Turns out the Manufacturer put the main 12v wire in a place where metal wore through the wire sheathing and caused a short. He told me how to identify the exact problem, and how to fix it, all over the phone. That is the type of person he is. Very happy. read more

After a wonderful stay in the Black Hills and Devil's Tower, I had an issue with my travel trailer 7 pin connector. After trying a self repair, I did not have brake or running lights and I did not want to tackle Denver traffic without them. Jim was recommended for service for a hit/cold issue on our Splendide washer in our motor home. He thought he would probably have to pull it out and would need help.
