We pulled around to the check in office around 630 and discovered the office was closed. We called the number with no answer and then went to the office to see if there were late check in directions. Unfortunately there were not. There were multiple sites open so we decided to pull through a spot right next to the office so we could pay in the morning. After pulling through a man on a gator pulled up to us yelling and raising his hands aggressively "we are closed!" Alarmed by his reaction we left. I've never encountered a more rude campground interaction. We won't be back ever which is too bad bc the grounds are very nicely kept. Please add a sign "absolutely no late checks ins without a reservation " so u don't have to yell at anyone else.

This morning just a smidge after 6am, the maintenance folks, working on a construction project, started their day. Cursing, and yucking it up. Loudly. Hotrodding their little gator carts around the campsites. Then started up all their construction equipment before 7am. I understand getting started on the day, especially in hot weather. But there are paying customers here. This thoughtless incident ruined my experience for this place. This won't be ongoing, and hopefully management will have a talk with these thoughtless workers. So, maybe it will be better in the future, but such is Yelp. A bad experience just ruins everything.

As soon as we pulled into the park our pressure valve on our propane tank gave way and we needed help. We had our tank filled before leaving home and the person evidently did not do it properly. Thanks to 3 men at the RV Park they came to our rescue. Can't thank them enough to spend most of their evening relieving the pressure in the tank and getting us back to being safe until we could get a new pressure regulator for our propane tank. Great staff and very knowledgeable, thank you again!

They're definitely the cheapest and their rooms are far better and cleaner than budget inn, America budget inn, or Lakewood. Those motels will charge you twice as much give you half as much and allow nowhere near as much. Lakeside offer's long term stay's instead of nightly, you can have your dog and even smoke and without an extra deposit. They have full size refrigerators microwave your AC and heat and their hot water stays hot and great pressure. Things you don't think of until you stay in one of the other motels that don't. My son and I had been displaced by a house fire and had spent two or three months in probably every motel in the surrounding area and it wasn't until we got to the lakeside that we actually felt like we had a minute to breathe felt like we could relax some and see what our next step was and for that I'll be forever grateful. So all in all I give this motel a five star rating out of five stars and I give the owners 10 Stars.

One of Missouri's few state historic sites is just outside Jeff City to the east. Unfortunately…read morethere are no signs that point you to the park so its best to rely on your GPS. It is actually outside the small town of Osage City. There is not many recreational things to do there (like no fields, playground, places to play ball or eat, etc) as this is mostly focused on the historical aspect of it. Lewis and Clark once visited this site and met with the Osage Indians. There are Indian mounds present at the site but they are in the woods. Several historical markers talk and detail about the historical place. There is a 1/2-mile trail but it only leads you to a deck in the woods with no view. The Missouri River is visible in a few spots. Trail goes upward and downward both ways so be sure to bring good shoes. A few benches, though not in the best of shape are at the park and trail. The trail in the woods is also not paved so you feel like you have to look down everytime you take a step. Be sure to bring your bug spray as there are lots of them in the woods.

It had all the shabby/no chic, no historic charm with cheap particle board , furniture and vinyl wall paper, lol. They clearly have not put a dime into maintaining the property. RUN FOREST RUN!!!!! For the prices they charge they must be laughing at everyone on the way to the bank thinking what chumps that they sucker into staying there. No wonder they suggested calling for reservations and have a no refund policy.
