I made an appointment to have my A/C looked at. I made the appointment for 11am the next day. I arrived at 10:55 on the hottest day of the year. It is already over 100 degrees. The gate is closed. I call the number and she says "I will send Jesse right out" I wait till 11:05 in 100 degree heat. I call back and Jesse answers. "Yeah, I'm running late from picking up parts, I won't be there for 45 minutes, but you can just leave the car." The area is not the best, I am not dropping my car off with someone I've never had face to face contact, and leaving my keys in a key drop. So...my question...why didn't they call me initially to reschedule? Once I was there were they going to call me and let me know what was going on? Was he just going to have me wait 45 minutes in 100+ degree heat? Update: I wish I had dug a little deeper on Yelp before making an appointment. Upon the comment left by the owner below I am glad that I didn't leave my car. It seems you get one of two experiences, either he is absolutely amazing or he has zero respect and then writes belligerent responses to truthful reviews. I do not think I am the only person with an A/C issue, but when I make an appointment I expect courtesy. read more

If I could give him -5 stars I would. He replaced my alternator with a reman alternator which cost him less than $200.00 and a belt. He charging me $295.00 for the service call a distance of 6.4 miles, $530.89 for parts and $360.00 for labor. He wanted to charge me over $500.00 for a new battery No he had ripped me off more than enough already. I took my RV to A-1 battery because mine was less than a year old. The mechanic there told me the alternator Jesse had installed was bad proving it to me with the meter which showed 13.2volts when it should have read between 14 and 16 volts. Jesse told me he wouldn't warranty it unless I had a brand new battery. A-1 kindly warranted my battery and gave me a new one. By this point I really was unwilling to trust Jesse so the next day I took my rv to Jim Burke. The alternator was bad and they replaced it with a genuine Ford alternator for $313.18 parts and $292.50 labor. With tax Jesse charged me $1,231.02 Jim Burke including tax charged me $631.52. Jesse is a thief and I would not recommend him to anyone. Customer beware. read more

The serpentine belt on our Duramax broke while towing our trailer to Yosemite National Park (the bearings seized up in one of the idlers). We were completely stranded. I called Jesse and he picked up right away. I explained the situation and he quickly ordered the parts, gave me a full quote and then arrived at our location off the freeway in about an hour. My family went on a trip to kern river this past weekend. On the way down the hill coming into Bakersfield my ac quit. I stopped at the local gas station and noticed oil all over my engine compartment. Being a Saturday afternoon not many places were open. My son stumbled upon Jesse's automotive repair through a quick search. Luckily he was open and ready to repair my Tacoma. He cleaned it up and found that the camshaft sensors were leaking and later found the crankshaft seal leaking possibly due to the serpentine belt failing. He undertook this large repair Saturday night and was finished by bedtime. It was costly as it was a large repair (took 5 hours) but me and my family are thankful that he was there for us in our time of need. He's very friendly and professional. Had car troubles after I crossed over The Grapevine coming from LA, I was able to coast into Bakersfield and found this shop through Yelp. It was late night, so I grabbed a hotel nearby and waited for them to open. The mechanic that greeted me was very polite and professional. I had gone to Auto Zone to get the check engine light readouts beforehand, and since I had those already, I was given an estimate very quickly. I decided to choose the shop over other options, and I was very happy with the entire interaction. They were even able to accommodate picking my car up after their posted hours (since I was coming from LA, this was VERY helpful) I don't plan on breaking down in Bakersfield again, but I can tell you now if I do, then I know where to go! No other shop was able to help us with this but Jesse. We had to get it towed but the tow truck driver was only able to take the 3 of us and my husband was left on 1-5 in 100 degree weather. Jesse not only spent over 3 hours after his shop was closed to help fixed our car but offered his car for me to pick up my husband. I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse that was having massive transmission trouble up in Sequoia. Got towed to Jesse based on the Yelp reviews and a quick phone call. When we got there, we talked about the potential issues and estimates on worst-case-scenario costs, including a potential transmission rebuild. We agreed on a few options, and he followed up the next day on the diagnosis. Lo and behold, the issues turned out to be about a third of the estimate we talked about. He accurately identified the cause of the problem and fixed it without adding on any unnecessary parts and labor. When we came back to get the car, he talked us through what he did and showed us the broken parts he removed. He also pointed out where we should plan to do maintenance in the future and identified exactly the parts that we should focus on next. Jesse and Natalie are incredible. Hands down one of the most accommodating mechanics. I was on my way up to San Francisco when my brakes started shaking my car vigorously down the grapevine. Panicking at the vibrations, I stopped and call AAA who directed me to a shop who didn't answer my calls. We thought it was the coolant reservoir. No. After the owner looked at it, it was the radiator. This guy wanted to charge us $750 to replace it!!! We said no thanks. We'll just pay the $85 diagnostic. He then added $5 because he uses a Square to process credit cards. Bull. I love when merchants have the square, but never have I been charged $5. Man was this guy a life saver! I was driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco when stopping to get gas outside of Bakersfield. I stopped to get gas, when my BMW 328i decided not to start up after filling it up with gas. Having terrible reception, not knowing any mechanics in the area, and 300 miles from home, I was fortunate enough to find Bakersfield Mobile Mechanic! I got my car towed to his shop, while he diagnosed the issue. My starter went out at the worst possible area (6 PM on a Sunday). Luckily, Jesse was able to get the part needed within an hour and install the new starter within 3 hours! Man, was I lucky to find this guy! I was a bit skeptical at first as I had not seen any reviews for BMW/German cars on his yelp page, but man was I lucky enough to find Jesse. Jesse is a stand up dude, and he does incredible work. He saved my ass in multiple ways this summer... A little backstory: I was on a 2 month road trip around the country in a 2000 Dodge Caravan that originated in Florida. I had a water pump go out on me in Utah, and I had just had it fixed and assumed that everything was tip-top. I made it to Arizona fine, then drove from Phoenix to Bakersfield with the plan of camping at Carrizo Plain. When I got to Bakersfield, the car started overheating like crazy. It was Memorial Day, and pretty much everywhere was closed. Jesse answered the call, and was able to meet me at his shop a couple of hours later. We thought it was the thermostat. Jesse replaced it as I waited and topped off some other fluids and checked the van out. As the van was idling and we were about to take care of payment, we noticed the idle sounded rough. Jesse checked the tailpipe and there was moisture dripping out. He checked the sparkplugs and there was coolant mixed with the oil. He assured me that these were both tell tale signs that the head gasket was blown. This was a tough spot to be in... It would take 3 days to dismantle the engine and get to the block and have it checked out a machine shop to ensure I hadn't cracked it. If the block was fine, we could replace the head gasket (pricey). If the block wasn't fine, we'd need to replace the engine (more pricey). Replacing the head gasket was going to be expensive. It was a 50-50 bet whether or not the block was cracked. I made the choice to save time and potentially save money by putting a refurbished engine into the van. Jesse shopped around and found me a used engine that would work. Unfortunately, the company sent an engine that had been mislabelled and it ended up not fitting my van. So it had to go back. Jesse stayed on top of it and found me ANOTHER engine that would work for a similar price. This entire process took over a week. I was lucky enough to have a friend in Oakland that I stayed with during this time. Jesse stayed in contact every step of the way via text and phone calls. I got back to Bakersfield to pick up my van on the day that my girlfriend was due to arrive at LAX. Jesse was on schedule and had the van almost completed. Once it was all put together with the fluids all topped off, Jesse took it for a test drive.... and it OVERHEATED. Turns out: it needed a new radiator. What a nightmare! Now I was definitely going to be late picking up my girl from LA. I didn't know what to do... I was about to scramble to get a rental car when Jesse did something incredible: HE OFFERED TO LET ME TAKE HIS PERSONAL CAR TO PICK MY GIRL UP. Let that sink in. Jesse - a mechanic who barely knew me - realized I was in a tough spot and let me borrow his PERSONAL VEHICLE to drive TWO HOURS during rush hour to pick my girl up from the airport. I was so grateful - I told him I would be super careful and would pick her up and come right back, and he responded: "Take your time... take your girl out to a nice dinner and then get back to me, no worries." That's exactly what I did. And When I got back to Bakersfield that night (around 9pm no less!), Jesse had the new radiator put in and the van was ready to go. I gave him a hug before I left. I have never hugged a mechanic in my life, haha. Jesse is one of the most stand-up guys I've ever met. He helped me out in so many ways, he went above and beyond, and he explained everything to me every step of the way. Jesse is honest and he does great work. He's thorough and he's dependable. My wife broke down while in business in Bakersfield. I envisioned some slimy mechanic trying to soak her for thousands of dollars being a woman alone and stranded. I checked Yelp and gave Jesse at Bakersfield Mobile Mechanic a call. Her car wouldn't start or even turn over. Jesse responded and was able to jump start the car. Because this is a pushbutton start, it does not act like an older car does when the battery is dead or dying. It sounded like the problem was far worse. Jesse even went so far as to check the alternator and a couple other things and said everything else appeared fine. The battery was just old. He offered to get a new battery and install it, but I preferred her buying one at the Costco around the corner. Jesse followed her and installed the new battery for her. The cost for his service was well below what I expected to pay. My wife said he was super nice. She tried to tip him but he refused. Seriously?
