My husband and I got into town to start our vacation and needed a spot for a late dinner. This was walking distance and seemed busy so we figured it was good. We walked in and got seated at the bar immediately, which was awesome. Service was fantastic all night too. The food - it was our first meal in Canada and we were SO impressed. It was such a great start to our trip. We got the ramen and a meal with it so it came with chicken and rice and a salad. Everything was fantastic and so full of flavor. We also split a bottle of sake which was awesome. The whole experience was great, we were so happy we stumbled in here. Highly recommend!

Jinya is our favourite go to ramen in Calgary. The place is always packed, but you can join a wait list when you start heading there. The vibe is very chill in this place. The staff are super awesome, mostly crystal, absolutely love her, she always makes our experience 1000x better.

I love Ramen. Decided to try the take-out / delivery version from Jinya since I was craving some! I got the Sprouting Up Ramen which is my normal dine-in go to dish. When you get it delivered, they put the broth in a separate (reheat-able) container and the noodles and other components in another container. This means the noodles and pork were NOT soggy upon delivery which is much appreciated. I do think the dine-in version is better, but I was surprised that the delivery version was fairly good too. The Jinya Bun was delicious though!!! Highly recommend adding one to your to-go order! Yum!

Great ramen place in Calgary! So it's one of these ramen places that are trendy but good. Their menu offers good ramen choices plus other small plates such as mini tacos and dumplings. Also vegetarian options. Prices are the standard ones. The place is well-decorated and clean. Kinda of a small place but cozy. Staff were really nice and polite. Service was fast and our ramens were well-prepared and warm. I got the Original Tonkotsu ramen with a Japanese peach flavoured soda. The ramen was great! Great taste, good quality of ingredients and enough to fill up your belly when you're starving. I would totally recommend this ramen place when you're looking for something warm, quick to get and tasty. Especially during the Calgarian winter. But, it can get really busy. You might wait for a long time to get a table. If you get there and there's no table available, they will ask you to put yourself on the waiting list using their QR code that you will find on a paper at the front door. We waited for 40 minutes to get a table.

This definitely is not my favourite place to eat. It is supposedly japanese fusion but seemed to me to be exactly like vietnamese food.. however.. I like vietnamese food better because the portion sizes are way bigger! This was just too bland and flavourless for me.

One of the best Ramen I have tried in a while. Their menu includes Vegan and Vegetarian options. I really enjoyed Flying Vegan Ramen and it is a must try. Quinoa Salad was another good item on the menu.

The sashimi tacos were great and a unique addition! The ramen soups were delicious. Would highly recommend, even for fellow Torontonians

Ramen place is pretty good. Luckily walked in and it wasn't that busy. So got a seat pretty much right away. I came here to see if there is a different from the Houston and Vancouver BC location. Overall, pretty similar. I got a seat at the long table. Definitely can get cozy and meet some new friends. So, I ordered the Chicken karaage ramen (Chef special). It was pretty pricy for a bowl of ramen if I were to compare it to Vancouver BC price. But overall not bad. It came with three big pieces of chicken karaage. Broth very thick and flavorful. Will definitely fill you up if you drink all the soup. But I think I prefer the Sprouting up ramen over the chicken karaage ramen. Décor is quite nice and I do like it. Located in a trendy location in Mission.

    Seaweed salad

Ok stop for lunch. Seaweed salad was only 40% seaweed the rest lettuce. Gyoza was just ok. Fried chicken was not large, just salty fried chicken. Also my friend had Tonkotsu Ramen. Very spicy (and that was level 1) couldn't drink the broth. Was more deep fried pork strips, not real Tonkotsu style.

Wakado Ramen was within walking distance from us, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a commercial complex with very little foot traffic, and to be honest, I was a little skeptical at first. Surprisingly, the ramen here was actually pretty good! We ordered the recommended two-person set and chose the Chili Goma Ramen, Tonkotsu Shio Ramen, and a plate of gyoza. I had the Chili Goma Ramen, and I was very satisfied with it. The strong, rich aroma of Sichuan peppercorn immediately reminded me of Sichuan Tan Tan Men, but it was blended with goma-style sesame sauce, which softened and balanced the flavor nicely. I thought that was a clever and enjoyable way to present the ramen. The broth was thick and rich, with a slightly bubbly texture on top and plenty of chopped scallions -- visually, always a good sign for the style of ramen I personally enjoy. The flavor was very good as well. The bamboo shoots were nicely marinated: soft, but still with a bit of crunch, turning into little bites of flavorful vegetables after a few chews. The soft-boiled egg was also well executed; I devoured it in one bite and was rewarded with a rich, flavorful mouthful. My only food-related complaint would probably be the noodle texture. The noodles were on the softer, looser side, closer to the texture of instant noodles that require boiling, rather than the firmer, chewier texture I usually prefer at ramen shops. I know some people may actually enjoy that softer noodle style, so I wouldn't say it was objectively bad, but for me, it was the one imperfection in an otherwise enjoyable bowl. The gyoza looked similar to frozen Ajinomoto-style gyoza, so I honestly didn't feel too excited to try it. Since gyoza isn't too difficult to make fresh, that left a bit of a question mark for me. My main complaint was the service. The restaurant only had two occupied tables at the time, but after we were given the menu, we still waited around 18 minutes without anyone checking back or explaining the meal sets. I eventually walked toward the server and finally caught their attention while the server was chatting with coworkers. The service also felt minimal throughout the meal, with items placed on the table without much communication. I understand most items were obvious, but even a simple "Here is your ****" would have felt much more welcoming than placing items on the table without saying anything. A little more attentiveness would have made the overall experience much better. Overall, the ramen itself was better than I expected, especially the Chili Goma Ramen, which I genuinely enjoyed. But the service experience and the gyoza made the visit feel less polished than it could have been.

I looked for Ramen places on google and came across this restaurant. They have been around for a few years but I had never noticed them before. When we went in we were greeted and told that we could sit anywhere. My son wanted to sit at the sushi bar side but we elected to sit at a table. The restaurant is not very big with seating for maybe 20. Menus were already on the table. Not an extensive menu. A selection of ramen, Rice dishes, sides, and beverages. We ordered 2 Tonkotsu Ramen with extra noodles and a Tonkatsu (Pork cutlets with rice). We also had a side order of salmon sashimi. Everyone had waters and I ordered a tea. The ramen was really good. Broth not too salty. Not as layered flavour that we have tasted from other places but still very good. Noodles are the curly ones and picked up the flavour of the broth nicely. The Tonkatsu was good. A little dry - had to use the sauce extensively. The salmon sashimi appy was good. It came with a home made wasabi dressing/sauce. To end the meal they gave us complimentary ice cream. Nice touch. Staff were really friendly and appreciative that we came by. My son needed to use the washroom a couple of times and it was clean. Will definitely come back again for the ramen. Also, we ordered the spicy chicken ramen (TIP: if you are sharing with a non-spicy eater, you can order it with the spice paste on the side, which is what we ended up doing).
