Oh Jitney how I've grown fond of our brief time together. In this complicated life, its wise to appreciate the simpler things and the Jitney is one of those things. For reasons that I do not wish to include in this review, we had to take the Jitney a few times during our stay in Atlantic City. Now I have to say that I live in New York and you will NEVER catch me taking the bus to anywhere from anything. So when at the time the only option we had was to utilize Atlantic City's version of public transportation I was pissed off. My perception of the Jitney changed when the bus got full and our lovely driver was blowing past stops with pissed off people standing there. As harsh as it sounds, I appreciated this the most. I learned that the Jitney does not let on passengers when all the seats are taken and there are a total of about 14 seats on these things! I LOVE IT!! I don't have to worry about anyone's crotch in my face when the bus rocks back and forth on streets that need paving. I don't have to worry about three people trying to squeeze into a bench that sits only two. Its fast, efficient, reliable and only $2.25. (don't I sound like a commercial) NO exact change needed, the bus driver gives you change! Amazing! Anyway, don't knock it people! This isn't a limousine ride. Don't expect smiles and great conversation. It serves its purpose which is to get you from where your at to where your going, and for such a cheap price, who can ask for more? Well, it's not exactly the Hampton Jitney, but these pleasant little shuttle buses get the job done. For only $2.25 a ride, you can take the shuttle to almost any hotel on the boardwalk, marina, and over to the Borgata and Harrah's. Yes they are a little bumpy, but for such a quick trip, just hang on and enjoy the ride. The buses have a route number clearly displayed and different numbers go to different stops - which is great because then you are not stopping at EVERY hotel to get to your destination. Bus #2 for the Borgata. The drivers announce the stops and make sure you get to the right place. The shuttles are small and don't hold that many people - no standing is allowed. It's not uncommon for a bus to stop and only have room for one or two people to board. If you have a large group, you should probably consider taking cabs instead. But if it is just a few of you, just be patient - service is very frequent and more buses are on the way. Save your cab fare for the slots and if you hit it big with the money you saved, next time just bring along your personal driver. read more

In the last two months, I've visited Atlantic City and after seveal attempts to ride the Jitney, I finally managed to get a ride to where I wanted. No or slow service is the biggest hinderance here. Scrap this system and start over AC read more

We hired Terry at AC Jitney to shuttle guests to and from our wedding at the Smithville Inn and Seaview Hotel in Absecon (15 minutes from AC) and now two weeks later we can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions we made throughout the whole wedding planning process! Terry is amazing! So friendly, so accommodating, and so FUN! She made many trips as needed back and forth, played great music, was congenial to everyone and really made the event something to remember. At the end of the night after making several pickups at the reception after-party (2:30am) she then took us to pick up more "supplies" at what we thought was a closed liquor store, but she worked her magic and found the maganger to let us in so we could continue the night. Then, being the mind-reader that she is suggested "does anyone need anything from Wawa?" to raucous applause and chants of "TER-RY! TER-RY!" If you have an event in the area or are just going out for the night and you want to spend it with a fun, professional, and helpful person, request Terry and use AC Jitney.
