I would start with 1 star because attitude was kinda in the air and believe me I've in many places including NYC so I know attitude and I'm from it I thought I would find it in Humboldt Co but I hues it would take longer than what I expected challenge accepted lol I will keep coming until I see a change and then I will release another review I work in the area and this is the first place I found ... FYI I didn't leave a tip ... perhaps that's why the attitude? I was going to get a couple of dollars from my car but I was running late for work; I like to buy locally so I will come back ... Great coffee w/ great service, but it's on the pricier end compared to other places in town. We came here twice over the weekend and every drink we ordered was great! We asked for double shots in everything and got exactly what we paid for. I would say that the lobby is a tight space but it's fine for a quick in and out coffee grab! read more

Had coffee here many times and it's always good! Had a vanilla cold brew with a splash of cream on a warm July day and it hit the spot. Not bitter at all and not too sweet. Friendly employees and clean spot with a little bar area to sit and sip while people watching on the Plaza. Can get a little busy at peak times/during the Farmers Market but the wait is never too long. read more

Their mostly drive-thru location was near our hotel and I went here every morning while in town to get my go-to Oat Latte. They were so friendly and you never feel pressured to tip on a $6 drink. From where I live on the central coast, prices here are in line with fresh ground coffee drinks. They are slow on weekends at busy times but quality and customer service was worth it.My husband got the Oat Mocha and he liked it too. I get there near when they open so not too busy. I wish we had this cute drive-thru near me. read more

We stopped in the town of Arcata for a little coffee jolt and a walk around the square. This place seems to be new amongst the old architecture and places to go around the plaza. I ordered a Mexican Mocha with little whip. It was really good and sweet, so no additional sugar was needed.I love the little dancing bean logo, put a smile on my face when I got my drink. They give you an Andes Chocolate Mint with your coffee beverage and were very friendly. What's not to like? ;) read more

This is the best mocha I've ever had. I got the Mexican chocolate mocha and it did not disappoint. The lady taking my order was very nice. I'm from out of town visiting and I'm so glad I took a chance on this corner shop vs finding something familiar. They also provide clean stylists to use for the touch pad if you're worried about Covid and whatnot. read more

Cute little corner cafe right off the plaza in Arcata. Staff were super pleasant and they make a top notch hot cocoa. Waiting area for drinks is a little cramped, but everyone was good about social distancing and wearing masks. I would definitely return! read more

Heard a lot about this place from my students who attend Humboldt so when we came to visit it was a must go to! First it was such a cute local place and the people there were super kind and helpful as we stared at the menu. We don't get many local coffee places in LA so this was a treat. We really enjoyed the drinks. They were even able to customize my daughter drink so she didn't get it with coffee. Will definitely come back when we are in the area. just when I thought Arcata was getting their shit together... I would give a 0 star if I could ... I literally just left jitter Bean with my 2 year old right now. We ordered a chai and a kids cocoa with a scone we paid and waited patiently!! So my chai is called and i quickly remembered i love whip.. "could u add a splash of whip please i forgot to say that with my order my apologies".... then i hear ... "that's going to be 60 cents. I was completely shocked... not that I can't afford 60cents because i surely can... just appalled that JitterBean is so hard up for money they charge 60 cents for a dash of whip . I could understand if i was ordering a cup of whip. For sure I'll pay for that... but this is a joke I haven't really been a fan of jitter bean as it is... but this topped it off. I will stay a Starbucks, Dutch bro's and gold rush customer only. Should consider changing the name to #ShitterBean with the poor service read more

This is one of my favorite stops in Arcata. I absolutely love the coffee, it's always so delicious! I'm always pleased with their service and smiles and happy demeanor. The coffee quality is above others, and their barista abilities are excellent. My husband got a hot chocolate and I got a large triple latte. They were both wonderful! I later got a dark roast coffee, which was French roast today. I love dark roast, but I am not a fan of French roast, and theirs was really good. I was quite surprised that I enjoyed it a lot. I will definitely be stopping here on my way out tomorrow, because I rarely come up here and need to make sure I get it again before I leave!!! read more

After trying one of the most unpleasant Starbucks I have ever patroned (McKinleyville), I decided to try this little drive through shop. I'm not a big fan of sweet coffees, and this coffee has that artificial syrup flavor, but the enthusiasm of the barrister and selection of drinks was just fun! As of this morning at 6:40 I go to get my morning coffee and the cost of one coffee is at 2.95$ a cup a 0.20 cent mark up wats up are you all getting Greedy this is a small town and most of us are on a small income and here giving a tip to our workers is a thing know that won't get the. On a recent trip up to the Redwoods we stayed a few nights in Arcata, Ca. This little coffee stand was located near to our hotel and was in walking distance. I can say that I really miss these drive-thru's from living in the Pacific Northwest. We used to frequent one everyday right by our house and what we miss most is the customer service and extra attention to quality they put into their drinks. This location Jitter Bean lived up to all that we remember. We ordered a couple lattes and what made it nice is the very friendly barista that chatted us up while our drinks where being made. After handing us our drinks came the extra little touch which includes an Andy's mint...you just don't get this extra attention to details from the Mega giants as they herd us cattle through...if I am back here in area I will for sure be making my intention to stop here again. read more

It can't get better than this. Easy going coffee shop that makes great coffee and are really nice people. They asked me questions where other coffee places don't like ( what type of roast would I like). They also give you a mint with your coffee which is awesome. You can't beat that. read more

Great tasting coffee. Great locating in the Arcata Plaza. Friendly employee that are knowledgeable of their menu and offer helpful recommendations. Cream and sugar staion is clean and organized. Regular hot coffee is kind of expensive and there is only a few stools to sit. read more

The location is convenient, yes. And since the location is small there is little seating, which is okay. My drink was not too sweet and made quickly (Tea au Lait). But while sitting at the only chair there I got to hear the manager brag about his three-day weekend coming up, and then argue about the merits of Lady Gaga with his staff as the radio blasted. I don't know about you, but this is extra annoying. Some people can block out distractions better than others, true. But personally I will always plan to take my drink to go. read more

No the coffee is nasty! Seriously, I tried this place 3 times and that was enough. The coffee taste like it's burnt. I even got a cold iced coffee with whip cream and caramel I forget the name of it and it still had that nasty burnt coffee flavor. read more

Went in today on my 15min break thinking that would be plenty of time since there was only two people In front of me I ordered a 20oz mocha and a 16oz white chocolate mocha... waited over 20min to get my drinks and I was late back to work from my break .. But to top it all off 3-4 people who were behind me got their drinks before I did... Seriously? It takes 20min to make my drinks but 3minutes for your regular customers? To me that is incredibly rude! It's first come first serve! Just because the baristas know the people who come in often doesn't mean they should get their drinks first and make other customers wait longer for their drinks when they got there first!!!!!!!!! definitely never going back again and the coffee is mediocre at best, nothing to rave about. read more

Good coffee as others said. However there is something maniacal about a coffee place without a restroom. It's like a gym without a water fountain or an airplane without windows--something integral, inherent, even, to the product--is lacking. There should be a law that if you're selling diuretics you should give the masses somewhere to micturate. read more

The ladies working the register were extremely kind and helpful. You order at the front and they deliver your food. They have a nice indoor space and an even nicer outdoor area. Very clean and overall pleasant.

already had coffee in hand...last place was out of food so we came here…read more they were also pretty much out of everything here =( they said they have plain or raisin...i asked for plain bagel sandwich...well we both got raisin... it was oddly ok vs awful. i'm sure if we came earlier in the day we would have had more options.. the place is pretty cool but i found better breakfast spots so who knows if i'll return... if you like bagels...the bagels are great here but i'm not a bagel fan ..i would have been happy with just the eggs...but i didn't see that option on the menu.
