However, the day before my emissions light came on. Online search showed it could either be the catalytic converter or the O2 sensors. I assumed O2 sensors and told the owner. He did all the fluid changes first at reasonable prices, then hit me with the cost of changing the O2 sensors... HE SAID $500. I should have said NO but didn't since it was an emissions light. He made it seem at first like it would take hours to get the part and install. It took 20 minutes. I then looked online at what the actual cost was of the sensors and the typical cost to do it... $30 for sensors on Amazon. $100 for labor (if they did a full hour) For a 15 min job and $30 parts at $500... I GOT RIPPED OFF! But after realizing I had gotten ripped off after the job was done the most annoying part of it all was that the owner kept consistently telling me at his front desk area on 4 separate occasions that he, "always gave fair prices" and "isn't trying to scam anyone". In retrospect, the fact that he kept saying these things repeatedly to me as my car was being worked on should've been an indicator that he was shady. IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THIS AUTO SHOP, PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOOK UP WHAT THE ACTUAL PRICES ARE OF THE PARTS YOU NEED REPAIRED ONLINE FIRST AND ALSO ASK HOW LONG THE REPAIR WILL TAKE. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE... Would give only 1 Star but gave 2 since he did complete the other fluid changes/flushes at fair pricing.

They also received a well-deserved recognition from YELP this year -- I can't say enough about their attentiveness and prompt service. I brought in two vehicles to get oil changed (they do not take reservations for oil changes, it is first-come first-served), and both vehicles was done within an hour, even accommodating our tight schedule that we had planned for today! There's a slight price difference of additional $5 to $10 since last we visited; however, the prices are truly reasonable compared to nearby auto garages. I was told that the prices will go up in 2026 so if you haven't changed your oil yet, I would totally go for it before that happens! As per usual, they did more than just the oil change, they checked for pressure and brakes, as well as windshield wiper fluid and gave a once look over to see if there's anything that needs to be addressed right away. They never try to upsell anything and never felt any pressure to do any kind of service with them. WARNING: YOU MAY GET RIPPED OFF LIKE I DID…read more One Auto charged me $533.13. for 4 days of storage and $191.92 for "towing" of my car (he drove it) about a mile to his shop. Picture attached.  On 9/21 (Saturday night), my BMW 328 was vandalized in Palisades Park. A friend (now, ex-friend), who knows the owner of One Auto, called him. He came by and said that he will take the car to his shop, which is about a mile away, for safe storage while I file a claim. He seemed nice and was pleasant.  I filed a claim with GEICO and an inspection was scheduled for Tuesday, 9/24. On Monday, 9/23, I called One Auto and asked if he had repaired BMWs before. Instead of answering my question, he asked me to sign an authorization form to begin repairs. I told him that GEICO rep has to come by and do a complete inspection. He didn't like that answer and said that my car was taking up space in his garage. I told him, GEICO inspector will be out the next day and I will pay the storage charge. After the call, I felt uneasy about One Auto owner's ability and honesty. So, I asked around friends who had had their cars repaired.  Tuesday, 9/24, morning, I decided to have my BMW repaired at K2 Auto Repair in Edgewater, NJ. I called Ashely, the GEICO inspector, who said she was OK with my moving the car to K2. She further said that she will cut a check to One Auto for the four days of storage and towing fees. I told her that One Auto didn't tow the car.  Thinking everything was sorted out, I coordinated with Eric of K2 to have my car towed to his shop. About an hour later, One Auto calls and tells me that he can not release the car until I pay him for storage and towing. I told him that GEICO inspector, who was there at the time of the call, will cut him a check. He didn't want GEICO to pay him. He wanted me to pay him. I don't know why; he refused to answer me and kept asking for payment. I spoke with the GEICO inspector and she was confused by One Auto's insistence of being paid by me instead of GEICO. However, she couldn't do anything more. By this time the Sano's towing truck arrived. I asked for a bill to be sent to me so I could pay him. He sent me the bill and I was shocked. $725.05!  Being at work, I asked a friend to go over and pay One Auto, so I could get my car out this unscrupulous person's shop. Sano's towing came by again and towed my car to K2, which is about 4.7 miles away, for $125. Based on my experience, I recommend people to avoid this shop.  TL;DR - This shop ripped me off and lied to me while acting nice and friendly. Avoid this shop unless you like overpaying and being lied to.

The only con experiencing from ETD Discount Tire Center was a hidden fee. When my husband got home, I was informed about a hidden fee with including a tire insurance. This was not discussed prior to us during scheduling or drop off. Once my husband realized it, they removed the tire insurance. Please check for hidden fees. Establishment was clean, parking lot is big and close by surrounding dealerships. All payments were accepted

I took my car to Valvoline to see if it needed antifreee or water because my Engine Temperature HOT…read morewarning came on. They saw me coming. They made all these assurance and told me I needed a radiator flush because the antifreeze was dark and sludgy; they informed me my oil was completely empty even though I had recently checked it about a week prior and it was full; they told me I needed an engine flush in addition to radiator flush. they said it would need an air filter and a synthetic oil change (fill-up since if it was empty there was nothing to "change." $316 later they sent me on my way and the engine temp warnings came back. At a mechanic shop a little further up Route 17, I learned the car had most likely blown the head gasket and the oil and antifreeze were mixing and the engine would need major repairs. Valvoline knew the antifreeze was dark and sludgy and there was no oil. They sold me all these services when they should have advised me to have a mechanic look at it. They sold me services on a car that ended up being junked 2 days later. I understand the car had 130,000 miles and these things happen with respect to the mechanical problem. But I asked for a refund of the useless services I was conned into because Valvoline had enough evidence and experience with fluids to know I needed to be sent to a mechanic. But instead they sold me on all these services they knew were not going to fix a serious engine problem. The manager said he would consider my request if I would meet a regional manager's rep at my house where the car had been towed. I met a rep of the Poughkeepsie Valvoline who took pics and told me he didn't know what happened in Lodi but he would not have done radiator flush, engine flush, air filter change and synthetic oil fill up. He said he could clearly see there was a significant leak. Area manager then did nothing and allowed the store manager's decision (to not refund me the $316) to stand. I am waiting to hear back and will be escalating from the area manager to the Market Manager next week if I do not get a resolution in 2 business days as per their 1-800 customer care line. Not feeling like a "cared" about customer. Feeling like a Patsy they saw coming and cheated out of $316 for services the car would not need.
