Beware of this place! I went in for a simple tire change (seeing all the positive reviews), but afterwards the owner told me to follow him into the shop because they found other problems. He and his mechanic then proceeded to shake two of my wheels which shook pretty bad, telling me that it is dangerous to drive around like that and that I had to get additional things fixed. He then showed me his estimate for the job which was pretty high. Frankly, when the wheels shook like that, I panicked a little and thought about getting it repaired then and there despite the cost, but then remembered a time when another mechanic did something similar at another shop (showing me shaky wheels) which turned out to be nothing but a scam to scare naive customers into spending more money. I took the car to three other mechanics, one of them a friend of mine and just as I suspected, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the wheels. Upon closer inspection, it seemed they either loosened a bolt or two somewhere behind the wheels to shake them like that to scare the customer (me), then tightened it back again when they realized I wasn't taking the bait. The owner seemed nice enough and competent at first, but I think they take advantage of alot of customers this way, especially women and some of the Korean population here, so I would really beware of this place. I could only imagine how many other of their customers have already fallen for sneaky, underhanded stunts like this to scare them into dishing out extra money for repairs they never really needed, including some of the positive reviewers on here, unbeknownst to them. I've even heard of some shops that actually break parts that were perfectly fine going in to drum up business, so always get SECOND or THIRD opinion whenever a shop 'shows' you sudden costly repairs that you apparently need. You will end up saving hundreds and hundreds of dollars of unnecessary repairs. Also, it goes without saying, but never trust how nice or accomodating they first appear to be. DO NOT GO TO ALL TECH AUTO REPAIR!!!! My car engine was on fire in the highway ( FDR Drive)  3 days after getting my car serviced here!!!! I never had any issues with my car but was due for a state inspection. On June 1st,  I went to All Tech for the inspection. They told us the engine belt should be replaced so we came back on June 2nd to get it done. We were told that we had to come back for another state inspection once replaced to ensure everything was fine. We were not sure why they couldn't do that at the same time but we ended up coming back on June 3rd. Two weeks later, the air conditioning stopped working. We went back on June 22nd to get it fixed.  Three days later on June 25th, I was driving on the highway and started to smell something burning. Shortly after the smell, I noticed that the engine started smoking and then I saw flames. I managed pull over between the ramp on an exit lane and jumped out of the car into oncoming traffic to try to get to safety. I managed to cross the highway to a safe spot and called 911. While waiting for the police and fire department to come, I just watched my entire car go up in flames. The day my car burnt down, my daughter called all tech and spoke to Juan to review the work done on the car. He went though all the work and towards the end of the call became very defensive and aggressive. He denied all responsibility, wrongdoings, or lack of checks during the inspection. My daughter was very calm throughout the call and was just trying to understand why this happened. He ended up yelling at her and even threatening to sue us if we engaged any action against him and finally hang-up on her. My daugher called back to try to speak with someone else and managed to speak with the girl in the front. She said her name was Erika. She gave a scripted response of we did nothing wrong,  I understand you came here 4 times in one month but we did nothing wrong and don't give refunds. After explaining that my car was on fire and that I almost died, she too hung up on my daughter after saying it wasn't her problem and to not get her involved! They have ZERO MORALS AND ETHICS!!! If you value your life and the safety of your family DO NOT GO TO ALL TECH AUTO REPAIR! I am taking the time to write this review to hopefully help someone avoid the trauma that I went through.  Also to note: Another yelp reviewer who was an all tech auto repair customer wrote that his car also started smoking while driving after getting service done there. He was stranded and needed to get his car towed. This is a pattern and multiple people have come forward with similar stories. STAY AWAY! read more

I would not recommend this service. These guys are SLOW. Last time I spent more than 1.5 hours waiting for 4 winter tires to be installed. Today it took them 2 hours to install 4 summer tires and make alignment. They also don't care much. Last time I had to come again to rebalance because the car was vibrating on higher speed. This time they didn''t have bags for my tires and they didn''t ask me what to do with my winter tires -- just put three of them in the trunk and the forth in the car. Again pretty dirty tire. My cautionary tale about choosing All Tech as your auto mechanic for your beloved car: I have been a customer of All Tech twice; once in April 2015 for a routine oil and filter change for my (then) sedan and once in July 2015 for installation of aftermarket front and rear sway bars in my current sports car. Each time I had issues, at first moderate to much more serious. THE APRIL ENCOUNTER: Upon calling for a walk-in oil change appointment late one afternoon, I was told they'd take care of me, but only if I were local to them and left immediately because they had to get their guys home. A bit of a strange remark, but I drove there anyways for the oil change. Overall, the oil change went smoothly, but I was very unhappy to be told afterwards that my car was waiting for me on the other side of the street with the keys in the ignition. Fortunately, Palisades Park is a pretty good area, but I was not thrilled that they just left my car out there like that. THE JULY ENCOUNTER: This time, I called ahead regarding installation of aftermarket front and rear sway bars for my car. I was told to come in any time during the day, but lo and behold, when I went in during the middle of the afternoon, I was told that they usually don't do this type of work that late in the day and that I should have stopped by earlier in the morning. Every time, I spoke to the same person, so not sure how they had such different expectations and guidelines each time. Nevertheless, they told me they could work on my car, but spoke in a manner that made it sound like a favor granted and not service rendered for payment. And to make things better, it started off with me standing in the waiting room, sway bars in hand, while the employee behind the front desk had a long friendly chat with the only other person in the room, completely ignoring the fact that I was there. In terms of the installation itself, I provided All Tech with the manufacturer's installation instructions as well as my own additional requests which I had clearly laid out in writing on paper. All Tech ended up ignoring most of these instructions. !!!!!~~~~~ Please note that from the waiting room I could see into the service bay through large glass windows. ~~~~~!!!!! 1) From extensive research into the product and installation process, I conservatively expected both sway bars to be installed within an hour. After I specified they were aftermarket in an initial phone call, All Tech told me they would probably take one to two hours, but when I arrived at the shop, they showed surprise and said that they didn't know it would be aftermarket, and it would definitely take two hours. Very questionable considering installation of aftermarket sway bars shouldn't take much (if at all) longer than for stock ones. I watched my car sit on the lift for over an hour with no one working on it, and sudden rapid completion in about a half hour or so after I sternly told them that I didn't want it running over into three hours of labor cost. 2) Installing the front sway bar requires removing the front wheels, so I specified that they NOT use any impact tools and instead hand torque with a torque wrench, which they verbally affirmed they would do. Then they proceeded to use an impact tool on my front wheel lug nuts. 3) Sway bars require ample lubrication in the bushings. Once I got home, the bars started squeaking uncontrollably, I took off the bushings for the rear sway bar to discover that it was bone dry and had never been lubricated with what was included in the sway bar packaging. I ended up having to essentially re-install the rear sway bar myself to get everything properly seated and lubricated, with extra cost incurred of buying new lube and bushings. 4) I discovered multiple large globs of an unidentified mixture on various parts of my car. It was on my hood, roof, and various fenders. It was an off-white creamy substance with flecks of orange, brown, and red. It looked like a hybrid of large avian fecal matter, caulk, and rust. Luckily it did not damage my paint, as far as I can tell, but was very angry that they treated one of their customers' car like this. 5) I drive a manual transmission. When I looked at my stick shift knob, it was somehow manhandled to the point of being loose. The mechanic had managed to spin the knob a few times. Not sure why a mechanic cannot drive a stick shift. Additionally, when the mechanic started backing my car out of the service bay, he at the last moment remembered that he should probably close the driver side door so that he doesn't hit random things on the way out. Just careless~ Overall, it has been a horrible experience with them. If you are like me and know a little something about cars and love yours, AVOID this place with a vengeance! Went in this time for a 4 wheel alignment. Once again good equipment (Hunter). Most of the techs including the one who worked on my car... speak only spanish, no english. I never got a print out of my alignment after i specifically asked for one. But the work on the car is the most important aspect and in that they did a decent to good job. read more

I have been coming here for the past 6 months or so with several different cars that my family owns. Juan, the owner, seems to be very honest and they have very fair pricing. I have done tire balancing, oil changes, brake replacements, and even when something went wrong with my heater earlier this past winter (see below): Unfortunately, the first guy originally misdiagnosed the problem (Juan was out on vacation... I believe around Thanksgiving time)... he told me he would attempt to flush the system and that if it did not fix the problem, that the truck would need to replace something (and would cost like $400 with labor including the flush if I remember correctly)... I agreed and he performed the flush by the next day, but it did not resolve the problem. Juan was in this day, and he gave it a second opinion, and was able to correctly diagnose the problem, and it was fixed the same day. It wound up costing about $120, and he did not charge for the other work -- so it cost $120 out of my pocket! Aside from that experience, everything else has been positive... and that even turned into a positive experience. The place is clean and professional looking; though the office is a bit tight and usually a little tighter because people get their cars serviced here! That should say something. I will definitely keep going back. Oh yeah, they also report things to CarFax as my gf was shopping for a car, we saw records of them servicing a car that we were interested in -- good maintenance records can slightly increase the value of a car when selling it. I would not use these mechanics again unless I lived in the area so they could do followup work. They put a new transmission in after mine failed on the NJ turnpike. I then drove back home which is over 500 miles away. My worst fears of having this extensive work done on the road came true. The transmission seemed fine at first, but has gradually deteriorated. I had to pay another mechanic for his labor to troubleshot transmission related issues, and even after that the gear shifts are very hard and abrupt. I am so happy to have found this place. I have a 2006 subaru and they take great care of me and my car. If I come in for an oil change and I'm going to wait, they get me in and out in about 15 mins. The story is below this, but basically very pricey, irresponsible, they don't fix the problem, and I suspect they might've stolen a part of my engine. I really went in wanting to like this place since a relative swore by Juan and his repair shop and I read these great reviews. I hope those reviews are genuine because my experience with this place was horrible. They are organized, neat, Juan is very polite and all, but they are very pricey, and on two occasions they have made my problems worse. The last time I gave them a visit took the cake. i took my van to him since it was turning off at random on highways. He installed two expensive pieces and told me the problem was solved. I drove it home and it was feeling weird but I parked it and swallowed my paranoia. When I drove it to New York to take a friend, I noticed it had very little power going uphill and it turned off again once. I returned it to him and explained. He then called me claiming he fixed it and oiled some filters or something. I took it back home happy expecting he was right. Nope. Turned off three times during the weekend and was taking longer to turn on. Returned it, he did something. Turned off. So we decided we wanted to stop this cycle and asked for refund. He said he can take off the two installed sensors and reimburse that back to us. So I drove to his shop and noticed the van wasn't really showing signs of struggle on the way to his shop so I decided to take it to college that night and see how it goes because I wanted to make sure the van wasn't fixed at all. Big mistake. When I got back home it was smoking like crazy. The next morning I added all the fluids needed like coolant, brakes oil, steering wheel oil... Oh and I also noticed the engine cover was missing hmm... The next day, I took it to work. There was so much smoke coming out of my hood that I had to stop. When I open the hood, a big mess. Had to tow my van to my house. I'm just so disappointed. Wasted time, money, and now I have a worthless van. This was a few months ago but a friend of mine called me yesterday angry saying he wont go back to that place because they always charge a lot and never fix the problem.
