I've been bringing my car here ever since I first bought it back in 2015 and it's still running strong with 109,000 miles. It's always no hassle when I bring it here. They even fill up your washer fluid and put air in your tires! All that for just under $30! One time when they were putting air in my tires, they realized that there was a screw that punctured one of my tires. They informed me about the issue and fixed it for such a great price that I did not have to shop around. These guys are the real deal!

He and his mechanic then proceeded to shake two of my wheels which shook pretty bad, telling me that it is dangerous to drive around like that and that I had to get additional things fixed. He then showed me his estimate for the job which was pretty high. Frankly, when the wheels shook like that, I panicked a little and thought about getting it repaired then and there despite the cost, but then remembered a time when another mechanic did something similar at another shop (showing me shaky wheels) which turned out to be nothing but a scam to scare naive customers into spending more money. I took the car to three other mechanics, one of them a friend of mine and just as I suspected, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the wheels. Upon closer inspection, it seemed they either loosened a bolt or two somewhere behind the wheels to shake them like that to scare the customer (me), then tightened it back again when they realized I wasn't taking the bait. The owner seemed nice enough and competent at first, but I think they take advantage of alot of customers this way, especially women and some of the Korean population here, so I would really beware of this place. I could only imagine how many other of their customers have already fallen for sneaky, underhanded stunts like this to scare them into dishing out extra money for repairs they never really needed, including some of the positive reviewers on here, unbeknownst to them. I've even heard of some shops that actually break parts that were perfectly fine going in to drum up business, so always get SECOND or THIRD opinion whenever a shop 'shows' you sudden costly repairs that you apparently need. You will end up saving hundreds and hundreds of dollars of unnecessary repairs. Also, it goes without saying, but never trust how nice or accomodating they first appear to be. All that means nothing.

They also received a well-deserved recognition from YELP this year -- I can't say enough about their attentiveness and prompt service. I brought in two vehicles to get oil changed (they do not take reservations for oil changes, it is first-come first-served), and both vehicles was done within an hour, even accommodating our tight schedule that we had planned for today! There's a slight price difference of additional $5 to $10 since last we visited; however, the prices are truly reasonable compared to nearby auto garages. I was told that the prices will go up in 2026 so if you haven't changed your oil yet, I would totally go for it before that happens! As per usual, they did more than just the oil change, they checked for pressure and brakes, as well as windshield wiper fluid and gave a once look over to see if there's anything that needs to be addressed right away. They never try to upsell anything and never felt any pressure to do any kind of service with them. What a luxury also to go into a heated lounge upstairs, prepped with Keurig style coffee, and snack and water while you wait. Definitely our family's TO-GO mechanic for sure!!

I've been their customer every since... let's see... early 2000s. Was sad to see their original location close, and I thought the world was over and I sojourned in the wilderness looking for half as trustworthy mechanics in the Fort Lee area... until on my recent first trip to CostCo Teterboro I saw a mirage to my right... The Korean Flag. On an Automechanic shop. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief for a second and stared again - and there it was - the proud Korean flag + automechanic combo, which could only harken back to my memories of seeing the same in the original location closer to Palisades Park side of the same Rt. 46. I literally stopped by right away and there they were, like Professor X and the Beast in the X-Men movies quietly deliberating on plans to kick Magneto's ass, Mr. Kang and Mr. Choi(?) the owner - fine gents jus' doing their thang. Owner recognized me despite 10+ years having passed. As did Mr. Kang who immediately gave me the lowdown on my problem with battery and installed a new one, and my oft-dead car issue that plagued me for several months... solved. Other mechanics told me it could be alternator issue so they didn't want to sell me battery just to have the car dead the next day or so, and Mr. Kang just explained the $h%# out of those dudes to the stratosphere. BAMN. PEW-PEW! KAZAAM!!! Hasta la vista baby. All my clouds of confusion and worry - GONE with the wrench. *cue the scene of gunslinger holstering his smoking wrench back* "But Mr. Kang, what about what they told me about my timing belts that are so old? Any dangers?" Another lightning-fast Bruce Lee-esq explanation why I need not worry. BAMN! POW! 1-inch punched outta hell to the Andromedas. And this was all done within a few efficient minutes close to their closing time. I didn't have anymore fearful issues to inquire about. A nice handshake and a knowing smile, and a promise to return, and return the hell I shall. I don't have to second guess myself anymore on any more mechanical issues which I have plenty with my 2004 Acura TSX until I can get a new one after this ridiculous car inflation subsides. And then some with my new car, I can be sure counted to come ONLY to Tech Power. Screw dealers - I ain't going anywhere else and I don't need your watered-down coffee. The first time, my Jeep was bucking very badly. I took it to some other places, and nearly all of them told me that they were going to have to replace my entire transmission. I brought my car to Ara, and I got a call less than 3 hours later. I needed a new engine coil and spark plugs, and not a new transmission. The first time I met this guy, he saved me about $1,000 by diagnosing my problem correctly. He also returned my car to me unbelievably fast. The second time I had my car towed there because I knew the solenoid was shot. Being in sales I constantly start my car 10 - 15 times per day. I know that most places typically charge around $500 to replace your starter. After putting $500 into my checking account to pay the bill, Ara handed me a bill for $368.68. He also only had my car for a period of about 4 hours, meaning that it was rather convenient because I didn't lose use of my car for a very long time. Lastly, this guy is trustworthy, and a very nice man. That's a big deal to me. His work is dependable, and you're not going to have your car in for service every other week. Plus he's usually is down there seven days a week, so you're guaranteed to always be leaving your car with an experienced mechanic rather than a gas station attendant. I highly recommend you give this guy a shot the next time you're having car problems!
