This was one of my favorite places but after this last experience, I won't be back. The bartender that was there when we arrived was either high or drunk. She couldn't remember our order and she brought me the wrong drink twice. Then she had a meltdown and walked out. The owner came over and apologized and she took our order which was finally correct. But the gentleman that brought us our food was sitting at the bar before bring us our order. When he began to hand me my plate several of my tater tots feel on the table because his hands were shaking. He went to pick them up with his hands and was about to place them back on my plate until I stopped him. My sister enjoyed her meal but I lost my appetite and only took a bite of my burger and a few of my tots. The bartender that arrived to fill in was really nice and friendly and things might have been better if we had her at the beginning. This was a good little spot to eat, drink, mingle and listen to music but I personally can't overlook what happened today. This is my opinion and mine only. read more

Atmosphere - Great. The restaurant has a bunch of TVs, billiards, Golden Tee, and a couple of video games. Servers - Very Good! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Food - Good. I had the Cheese Steak Sandwich and Tater Tots. The sandwich was big and the bread fresh. The steak was a bit overcooked, but the onions and peppers were flavorful. The tots were very good. Overall - although my sandwich was disappointing, my friend really enjoyed his cheeseburger. The menu has many items that appeal to me and so I will definitely revisit the restaurant. The 4 stars are based on the service and atmosphere, which saved my rating from being 3 stars. read more

I hadn't been to JJ's for some time as it hasn't been great. They put online that they had smoked wings and I thought I love smoked wings. So I thought I'd give them another try. I showed up at 5:00 p.m. With nine people in the bar. No one eating wings and they said they were out of smoked wings. I ordered some farmer platter. It came with soup which was lukewarm from a can. After that the meal arrived with freezer burnt broccoli, Cold instant potatoes with canned gravy and gravy over hamburger. I was in the Army for a long time and it kind of reminded me of some of the days at the Chow Hall in Bosnia. I will say this. The beer was ice cold. Which was the only highlight of the experience. One of the things that grosses me out is servers or bartenders with really long creepy nails. And yep the bartender had creepy long nails. Service was poor at best. No apologies the smoked wings. Didn't ask if the food was good. Didn't really care. And serving me food with those long fingernails hanging over my food. Too many good places really close that serve really good food and have a much better happy hour. read more

I feel guilty that I didn't figure this place out sooner. I've lived nearby and didn't know it existed for the first couple years. It's tucked away subtly behind the Publix at the intersection of Us41 and Apollo Beach Blvd Each time I've come here, the staff has been friendly and welcoming. Food has been solid, drinks have been great. It's a nice non-smoking locals bar. This Friday for happy hour Jessica was absolutely wonderful. The bar was busy but she handled it with grace and class. This place is creeping up my favorites list for local spots I'm not going to lie! read more

As I arrived late in Tampa on Christmas Day, we found this place still open. We knew we'd found the right place as if we were destined to come in here. This is a place where "they know your name" where you're not a stranger, but family. Everyone was in their holiday pJ's so cheerful.The servers were very friendly. There was a free open buffet bar offered for everybody and every food item from the lasange, green beans to the pumpkin pie was delicious so I knew the items on the exceptional menu would be also and I was correct. We have gone to this bar for a long time, even before it was JJ's. The food was very good in the past, but it's slipping. We miss some of the people who are no longer there. Some go-tos are the chicken quesadillas and potato skins. Many times we sit at the bar and enjoy rousing conversation with the patrons. Service is amazing, with really friendly girls. Long ago they had guy bartenders and they were lots of fun as well! People in this area like to know the people behind the bar, so it helps to maintain the staff, and keep them happy! read more

Great salad. Wanted an iced tea and the server told me they had t made it yet for today. I appreciate that so much that they didn't try to use the tea from the day before (lots of places will reuse the tea from the day before! Ugh!). And the salad I ordered was huge fresh and tasty. I ordered lunch to go on 5/9/25 and should have left the restaurant when my mom and I spotted a roach crawling at the bar area. They forgot to put my broccoli in the bag and when I returned had the nerve to give me very small servings of the broccoli that they forgot. The wings are really small for the price as well. The waiter could definitely stand to work on her customer satisfaction skills. read more

Newer place. Stopped by here for dinner and it was pretty empty. The staff is very nice and they seem to be still training some servers so please be patient. Ordered wings and loaded tots which were both tasty. The loaded tots were generously dressed and there was plenty to share. They have a good amount of bar seating and that appears to be the money maker here. The rest of the restaurant is kind of set up oddly: there are room dividers in the corner, randomly placed TVs and a counter in the back that doesn't seem to be used for anything. I think they are still trying to figure out their layout. Not sure what was in this spot before, but it could definitely have a lot more potential to be a cozier spot. I'd go back and I hope they do well. read more

It's been a year since JJ's opened. We went for lunch around 3:30p. When we walked in we were greeted by the bartender Sean. He came right over and took care of us after we sat down at a table. My sister was ecstatic they added potato skins to the menu. I was however disappointed because the Southwest Eggrolls were no longer on the menu. I inquired and Sean explained they're hard to get from their distributor so when they have them they'll put it on the board that they're available for that day. We tried the specials for the day. 3 Fish Tacos for $15.99. You can get them blackened, grilled, or fried. I got them fried. They were very hearty and tasty. I also had their 10 for $10 Wings to go. They let you split the flavors so I got the Garlic Parm and the Sweet Thai Chili. The wings are so good here! My sister had the Potato Skins and the Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. It was tender, flavorful, and juicy. Very well portioned. She took some home. After 4p it started to get really busy. The bar was full and the dining area started filling up. I felt really bad for Sean. He was all by himself to handle both areas. They should have someone else on staff to help. But he did a great job and we were happy with our service. First time here since transition. Work in progress but a giant improvement. Service was amazing, bar staff was super friendly, and atmosphere was very pleasant. Had wings for snack and DANG, they were good. Get them extra crispy, they're not battered but cooked a bit longer to add crisp. Spring rolls were da bomb. Drinks we'll poured. Definitely needs local support as they evolve. read more

We went on a Friday night at 6:30 and frankly was surprised that they were mostly empty. Found a table and we were immediately helped. Ordered our drinks and some appetizers. The bacon wrapped shrimp is excellent. Mozzarella sticks were well done and the sauce with them tasty. I had the garlic shrimp pasta - it was very good. My husband got the bacon burger and enjoyed it. My friend had the fish fry - the pieces were huge and tasty. Her husband had wings - extra crispy but they came out dry. It all worked out though.
