I found this place randomly on Yelp and was drawn in by the great reviews. My partner and I decided to give it a try since we wanted to get one more massage before our trip to Oahu ended. We called to make an appointment, and they told us about a Valentine's Day deal: 120 minutes, including a foot bath, body massage, and facial for $250 for both of us. We decided to go for it, and I'm so glad we did! The session was amazing. Both therapists were highly skilled and really took their time. The facials were especially great--they were gentle on our skin, and my face felt so much healthier afterward. I appreciated how J&J kept checking to see how we are doing and if the strength is good. Another thing I like is how private their spa is; they only take one couple at a time since there's just one treatment room for a couple. Parking was free and just a 5-minute drive from our hotel! After we ran the marathon, my boyfriend and I searched for a place to get a massage. We found JJ Spa on Groupon and then called JJ Spa and Joomi informed us of the current special couples massage deal online, which was actually a better deal than Groupon. Just a note that when you book directly with JJ Spa, tax is not included, so you pay tax in person after your massage. We went ahead and booked with them that evening! There was free street parking in the front (after a certain time, which I'm not sure what time that starts), but there was also a parking lot behind the spa that was free from 9-5pm, after 5 pm the parking fee was $1/hour. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot. It's a small spa, but beautiful and clean inside. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Joomi, the owner. We filled out some forms, then were promptly led to one of the rooms with two beds. Both of us enjoyed our massages, but I will speak personally for my experience with Joomi. I emphasized certain areas where I would like her to focus on and she did an AMAZING job at massaging and stretching those areas. The stretching felt so good, especially after all that running. They took their time and treat us with respect. We were super satisfied with the service. At the end of the massage, I was floating on cloud nine. As we put on our clothes, Joomi set up some dandelion tea and chocolates for us outside in the lobby. It was such a wonderful experience. We came here because of Groupon, not bad like $50 for 60 mins?! Heck yes! The owner was there right when we entered and greeted us. She also had another masseuse there because my friend and I got the couples massage together. She was so friendly and professional! Before we started we filled out a form of consent and what we needed work on just so they get an idea of where to massage. As for the massage, I got Jenni and she was soooooo good! For my first time getting a professional massage it was amazing! I didn't want to leave :( her techniques were amazing and it felt so good. My back feels way better and the pressure she used was just right so I really enjoyed it. She also asked if it was okay along the way and I really appreciated that because you can adjust it. As I called to make an appointment for our anniversary, Joomi was able to take us in earlier than her normal business hours. It was perfect because I wanted a day spa with the hubby on our wedding anniversary. We got the hour full body massage, hour JJ special facial, 30 minute foot massage and a foot bath. The full body massage was very worth it. It was a mixture of Swedish, lomi lomi, and Thai. They will give you a questionair to see where you want them to focus on for the body massage. Since I have sensitive skin and had hives the night before, I asked to keep the massage body oils to it's minimum by keeping it plain. So no aromatherapy for me. I loved that she could accommodate my skin condition. My husband had the full service, while I was being accommodated with a hot stone massage as well. It was heavenly. It feels really nice to be pampered. They worked on arms, legs, thighs, upper & lower back. If you want them to focus more on other body parts, you must let them know. Love how Joomi stretched out my arms. I got a little hot stone massage on my thighs and legs too. Facial was done with blue led light for sensitive and acne prone skin. We had steaming going on and a face and neck massage as well. Love, love , love it! Foot massage, ohh I tell you that was heavenly. My husband said I dosed off because I snored. My husband got us a couple's massage for our anniversary. He found them on Groupon and the deal was pretty good for a 60 minute massage. They are located beside Sushi Sasabune on South King Street, and parking is behind the structure which is free for 2 hours before 5pm. Scheduling was very easy. I received a response the same day I reached out to them. The front of the store may not seem as attractive, but don't let it fool you because inside, this place is "zen". The receiving area is intimate, furnished with cozy couches to relax while waiting to be called in for your appointment. Sun Hee and Sumiko were our masseuse. They used a combination of their Signature Massage and Lomilomi. I had Sun Hee and asked her to work on my shoulders and back. They also used some sort of peppermint oil which added to the relaxation. I like that they ask if we are okay, and if the pressure is good. 60 minutes fell short for my husband and I since we ended up wanting more! It was indeed hard for us to get up and out of the room, we just wanted to sleep afterwards. We were each served with hot tea and Andes mints back at the reception area where we tried to get ourselves perked up again. They have other services available such as facial, other types of massages and they even have a membership too which can get you some discounts for their services. Joomi was trained in Korea so I was excited to get a coveted facial experience without having to go to Korea although I wouldn't mind to after it's safe to do so . I was also excited my face will be bright and flawless like all those beautiful Korean models ... and BTS guys. She explained that korean facials involve an acupressure myo-facial massage technique that helps release toxins and tensions and it tends to hurt but afterwards you feel so good. When she said that I pictured those painful excruciating Chinese foot massages - the kind that has you holding your breath and wiping tears of pain from your face while you are thinking I paid $$$ to get tortured?!?. Well the Korean facial massage was a bit more intense than a typical facial massage but not too bad - I didn't have tears of pain coming out of my eyes - and it did feel good afterwards too. My friend and I booked a double 90-minute massage and facial for a very reasonable price and very last minute on a holiday (Labor Day). Joomi (Jun Tsuchiya) and Suki were very accommodating, professional, polite, and considerate. I cannot say enough about what a great experience we had. After spending almost a week in the sun and slathering sunblock on my face every couple of hours, I had experienced a pretty bad break out. Joomi fixed me right up and my skin had substantially improved by the next day. Between all the traveling, hiking, and swimming I had also developed a very stiff neck and knots in my upper back. Suki fixed me right up and was even able to adjust my neck! A feat even a chiropractor has not been able to accomplish! After our massage and facial was done Joomi and Suki had tea waiting for us with and even provided me with suggestions where we could find some good food. I felt like when I was getting the massage, she did not get my knots out. She would go over it a couple times and then move on like. This place reminds me of my regular monthly place back in New Orleans and I like that. It's pretty quick in and out. Parking was excellent for the area, it's clean and the aesthetician was kind. Pricing was fine. I also purchased some masks for home use that I really like. My only disappointment was I purchased a Groupon "Custom Facial" and when I got there learned it would be "Signature moisturizing facial" instead, no offers for an upsell either. The form is helpful because you can tell them what area you want them to focus on. For me, I have a lot of tension in my upper back so I mentioned that was the area I would like covered the most. We found this place on Groupon while looking for something different while we were on vacation. After a rough couple of days leading up to the vacation, a couple's massage was exactly what we needed to unwind. I was surprised that they were able to accommodate us for a same-day appointment, but I guess they aren't too busy on Wednesdays. The building that they're located in is quite old and run down, but once inside the actual suite, it's not too bad. The staff is really friendly and you can park for free for evening appointments, which is what we did. The massage experience is solid. Despite it being late in the day, the therapists didn't seem worn out and the pressure was good. They could probably use a door between the tiny front lobby and the back area, as a simple screen sheet separates the two, which doesn't make for a very private area while you are dressing or undressing. Went here for full body massage. I was rushing to be on time for my appointment only to wait for 30min for the room to be free. I saw other rooms and didn't know why they couldn't use the other rooms since I was the only one waiting. The clerk kept on saying that the client was changing and that old people takes forever to change. So after the room was free I guess they cleaned it for a bit to have it ready for me. When I put my head in the hole for massage, I smelled drool. They either didn't wipe it good enough or they just changed the covers without wiping the table. Other than that, they were very friendly and the massage was very good. And I like the fact that they have a membership for people who wants to come here often. I think all spas should have that. I will come back again and hopefully I can change my review to 5 stars and maybe take advantage of the membership. I probably may need to bring my own sanitizing wipes though. Judy and her colleague were amazing. They are small Korean women, but I was SO amazed by their strength! I am 5"11' and I weigh 200lb, but the masseuse got all of my knots out. I got the 60 minute full body massage with essential aromatherapy for couples (my wife and me) and we are from L.A., and she said that the masseuse was better than any masseuse that she had in LA. I had some vouchers from Living Social for a 60 minute massage, 60 minute facial and foot detox. I never heard of this spa so I really didn't know what to expect. The foot detox was a bit lame-- you seriously just sit in the corner for 25-30 minutes and watch water turn a dark brown. I know she said it was taking all the toxin out from my liver, but I just didn't believe her-- when I looked in the water, it looked like the brown color was coming from the pump in the water... but who knows? On the other hand, the massage and facial was very nice! I felt so relaxed and the massage therapist and esthetician did a great job-- I think I even fell asleep in the facial since I felt so relaxed! The only downside to these services was their location. It's on the 5th floor of the building at the corner of Piikoi & Kapiolani. However, when you get to the 5th floor, it felt like a sketchy office building. Once you get inside the room, it's so small and there won't be anyone to greet you at the front if they are both doing services. It's hard to fully relax in the environment... Overall, I loved the massage/facial, but had to take away stars for the lack of a "spa" feeling environment. I think I would come here again on a 1/2 off deal-- but not for full price. read more
