This is where our teenaged grandchildren like to come. Good food, generous portions. Family friendly. Also, the restaurant is VERY accessible for anyone using a wheelchair or walker. A recent visit with friends who need this accessibility was great. They have put JJ Twig's in their top restaurants for future visits. read more

I always thought I could count on JJ's for a good Chicago style pie but not Tonight. I was Disappointed with both my pizza and salad tonight. As I ate my pizza, a JJ Twiggs special, I repeated chewed on something that was inedible- I keep thinking it was paper. The pizza tasted good but keep chewing on something in my bite that would not breakdown. I kept setting it aside. After the 3rd inedible piece in my 3rd piece of pizza I started deconstructing until I figured the chef did not completely peel the onion and it was hard onion skin that I kept chewing on. Fortunately it was not throughout the entire pizza. When I tossed the salad I found old pieces of yellow salad core and brown pieces of salad and Red onions that should have been tossed and never served. The worst part was the rancid sunflower seeds. They were everywhere and made the salad inedible. The reason i dropped from 3 to 2 stars is because when I called to tell them, the person who answered said, thanks for telling me, I'll go back and check on it. Did not offer to make me a new salad or if there was anything he could do. As I tried to tell him the onions we're not peeled he wanted no part of it and said good night. This review is long overdue, as it is the culmination of many, many bad experiences. My husband and son like the pizza here, which I really don't understand. They also like that it is so close to our house. Every time they suggest getting carryout from JJ Twigs, I groan. This place is so bad. Each time we order from them, I try something new in the vain hope that not everything on their menu is disgusting. I keep praying that if I try something different each time, I will eventually find something edible. Alas, after trying many of the items on the menu, I've given up. There literally is nothing fit to eat in this place. Today, I decided to try the cod sandwich. I love fried fish, and you'd think it would be hard to screw up a sandwich. The menu specifies that it comes with shredded lettuce, and that tartar sauce is served on the side. I'm not a big fan of vegetables on sandwiches - just a personal preference, but if I wanted a salad, I would have ordered a salad. For this reason, I always request that restaurants leave the vegetables off of my sandwich, which I did on this occasion. Since the menu only states that it comes with lettuce, I asked them to hold the lettuce. What the menu doesn't mention is that they also add onions and tomatoes, so when I got my sandwich I was disappointed. If they were going to specify that the sandwich comes with lettuce, why wouldn't they list the other items they put on the sandwich as well. Also, even if I liked tomatoes on my fish sandwich (honestly, who serves a fried fish sandwich with tomatoes?), I still would have been grossed out by this particular tomato. It was not a slice of tomato, which would have been easy to remove. This tomato was chopped so fine that it looked like they had stomped on it with a work boot after they chopped it. It was slimy and practically pureed - impossible to get it all off. When they asked what side I wanted, I decided to try the sweet potato fries, even though they came with an upcharge. I love sweet potato fries, but these were inedible. They were limp and soggy and saturated with grease. I ate one and threw the rest in the trash. Glad I paid extra for that. This place just needs to disappear. I have given them a ridiculous number of chances and tried at least half of the things on the menu. It seems they are incapable of cooking anything worth eating. read more

Had dinner here last night with family. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The chicken was amazingly moist and juicy, unlike most dried out chicken sandwiches. I really enjoyed it. Of the appetizers we sampled, the seasoned fries were meh! The mushrooms, while tasty, were dripping in grease, however, the Italian sausage balls with a manara dipping sauce were tasty and perfectly prepared. We had a new waitress, Olivia. She was ok, needs to be more attentive as we waited quite a while before we could flag her down and ask for refills on drinks. I still tipped her nicely, but she didn't quite "earn" it, as she would disappear for great lengths of time on a very slow night at the restaurant. Olivia please check back with your patrons frequently as its part of providing good service! Overall, a pleasant venue and experience but not a five. read more

We had a good time. It was overpriced, a bit, but it was delicious! Mustard sauce wings were great, and the pizza we had with mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes was superb. Got it with no cheese, because I'm very lactose intolerant. It was excellent crust and great sauce. A god amount of toppings. The service was decent. The restroom could be cleaner, but it wasn't too bad. I'd definitely return. read more

So glad JJ Twig's is open right now!!! We recently moved back to O'Fallon and ordered JJ Twig's through door dash for dinner this evening. I have to give a shout out to the buffalo chicken dip!! The bomb. Also the cheese stuffed pretzels are fire. But I was most surprised and impressed about the fries!! They were still hot and crispy! Total win. First time here & will definitely be going back! The food was incredible, but before I go into that I'd like to say that the customer service was even better. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and sat down. The bartender immediately came to our table, handed us our menus & took our drink order. Btw amazing lemon drops & whiskey sours! He also took our food order, buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer, grilled chicken sandwich & the nacho burger. ALL were delicious! I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the rest of the food & drinks because they were too delicious! The bartender (wish I remembered his name) kept checking in on us periodically, as well as greeting other diners, making drinks & taking their orders. Very nice experiences both times we ate at JJ Twigs (in the span of one week ). Nice also that this restaurant is open and we haven't had any wait to sit. The first time we ordered Sweet Potato fries and hot wings as appetizers. My son and husband tho it the wings were great (I didn't try them). We all loved the sweet potato fries! To me, they almost tasted like a delicious donut (weird as it sounds). The boys ordered the taco pizza and it was fantastic! They even crumble cheesy tortilla chips on top for a great crunch and flavor kicker! I have Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza and wasn't disappointed. This last visit we tried the buffalo chicken dip (great flavor, nice portion size and low on the spice). Chips that came with it were both g special. We also had the jalapeño cheese stuffed pretzels and honey mustard dipping sauce- really nice. I like that the pretzels were slightly crisp outside and soft on the inside with a light jalapeño cheese. I would order again. We also had the spinach salad with fresh apples, candied pecans, feta and onions with vinaigrette dressing/ a solid salad with plenty of good stuff in it. read more

OK, this place was never even on my radar, but I'm glad I got roped into it, it was a win! You know I love breakdowns and lists, here it goes: Drinks - I had two dirty martinis. They were wonderful, and strong!!! I definitely felt them. Dinner - I had the Chicago style dogs and fries. OMG! This was wonderful! For a very affordable price I got TWO fully loaded Chicago dogs and a plate FULL of fries. It was actually very filling and hit the spot perfectly. Between the good drinks and the great food, I was happy as can be. My only complaint...parking my Ford dually was a pain in the strip mall parking. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place on Yelp. It's hard for me to find pizza that I enjoy that much but their double decker speciality pizza is delicious! Next time we would skip the appetizers though because that was the only disappointing part: fried mushrooms had an odd batter and the sausage bites didn't have the breadcrumbs as described. Otherwise everything including the service was great, the place was clean, it was booming on a Friday night but we were able to grab one of the last open tables. read more

So I work on an ambulance in the area. My partner and I were craving something simple and mostly quick and easy. The chili and house salad sounded easy enough. We call in our order to Brad, at least I hope that's his name, and he is super friendly. We told him we will call back if we get caught on a call. Heading there, excited to finally eat, we get dispatched for a call. Bummer, super bummer when you're so close to food, BUT it's part of the job. Anyway, we call Brad to let him know we will be much later, he thanks ya for calling and says, "No problem at all just call us when you can make it and we will remake it for you!" AWESOME. we finish the call, and thought about food the whole time, called Brad and let him know. They gave us an extra chili, nice and warm and our delicious salad. Really it sounds like a super simple meal but it was AMAZING. we already talked about coming back for the exact thing. Maybe even dine next time because Brad is so friendly. This is the second time we have been to JJ Twig's, and they did not disappoint! What amazing pizza! I highly recommend getting the Double Decker pizza which is two thin crust pizzas stacked on top of each other. For an appetizer, my husband ordered sausage bites, and they were delicious also. This place is great!! I have been here twice since I moved to St Louis. I would recommend this place to anyone. Since I am not a native St. Louisan, I'm not big on Imos and the Provolone cheeses(maybe Provel) most pizza places have here. So when I found JJ Twigs and they use mozzarella cheese. I was amazed. An absolutely wonderful place to go for lunch. I usually order the chili. It is very reasonably priced and is served in a flash! The wait staff is very attentive, and are very good at putting extra onions on my chili. It's a really nice bar and grill that's near my work that I frequent for lunch. I'm always into trying new places so I was excited when my teaching team wanted to eat here before an event we had. I was advised that the pizza was the best but you needed to really have two people to eat it with you. So I opted for a buffalo wrap with fries instead. The wrap was good, they barely put any fries on the plate. I was quite disappointed in that. Our waitress was only on her second day so she wasn't very knowledgeable about everything just yet so we didn't get straws and she didn't split our check like requested. The double decker pizza and burgers taste really good. The menu says that the sausage for the pizza is ordered special from Chicago so it tastes similar to pizzas I've had there. It isn't deep dish, but a really good, filling pizza. The service is fine and I've had no issues there. Ordering take out from there is also convenient over the phone. The front area is a bar with a bunch of TVs and the dining area also has quite a few TVs so if you want to have a few drinks, eat, and watch sports it would be a good place for that. read more

LOVE their pizza here. My husband and I were taking out a friend from out of town and wanted her to experience StL style pizza. Great choice to go here! Only reason I can't give it 5 stars .... 1.) Our waitress forgot our guests glass of wine, and when we reminded her she brought a completely different wine instead of Pino Grigio (which was later corrected at the bar). 2.) When I called the location before hand to ask if they had honey, the guy acted like I was an idiot and guessed at them having it. Really said "I'm guessing we do". I only ask because their Valley Park location turned me onto honey and parmesan cheese. Overall though, we will be back even with the little issues. read more
