I contacted JJI Tree Service to take care of three trees on my dad's property. Joaquin was very attentive in his response and answered all of my questions via text, phone and email. I was concerned about the Cedar and thought that it may need to come down. Joaquin said that the tree just needed some trimming. Job was done in one day. Ivy was removed and all of the trimmings were chipped an d cleared completely. JJI also removed two birch trees. Before they grinded down the stumps, they decided to contact PG&E to insure that no gas lines would be severed. I hired JJI Tree Service in January of 2024 to prune a large black walnut tree in my backyard including a number of other trees on my property. When Joaquin dropped by to take a look at my trees, he was very detailed and showed me exactly how he would cut back the trees in a safe manner. In fact, out of the four local businesses I contacted, he was the only one who spent the time to explain to me how the pruning would work. He offered me a fair price that included complete removal of all debris from my property and my neighbor's properties. On the day of the pruning, they were very careful with my walnut tree. Most of the cuts were done by hand with someone in the tree to ensure precise removal of specific branches. After all the cutting was completed, they did an excellent job removing all the debris from my property and neighbor's properties. Very professional. A complete mistake from start to finish. Hard to get a hold of, poor communications. Promised a same day estimate, had to call 2 days later to get it. Promised a work date, then failed to show and no message. When I contacted them, was told their chipper was broken. OK, but why no call? Rescheduled, they again failed to show and no message. Finally received an email stating that they couldn't fit the job in. Wasted almost a month on them. They have a website, voicemail, phone #, but all communication by email, with frequent late or missed messages. AVOID - you can do much better! read more

Joaquin and JJI tree service were great to work with from the estimate stage to completing the job. We needed to cut two acacia trees which were dangerously leaning and trim some trees including a big Oak tree. They understood our requirement very quickly and their quote was nominal. They came out and cut the dangerous trees the very next day and planned the work methodically cutting the dangerous branches out first. I was very lucky to have found JJI and Joaquin earlier this year during the atmospheric river rain and wind storms. We had them trim 2 trees and cut one down. The one that was to be taken down was a very large tree and very tricky as it was on top of a septic tank and about 6 feet away from the house. After coming to see the scope of the work to be done we got a quote the same day and scheduled them to come a week after. Communication was excellent and we felt like we were notified of everything well ahead of time. We were told that they work in tight spots (SF) and this tree should not be an issue. The day of they came early to set up and were actually working almost to the dot at the scheduled time. They left the place cleaner than before them! Very polite and pleasant people to deal with. After the cleanup we noticed one of the lids of the septic tank was cracked. Joaquin was quick to reassure me that whatever cost comes up from the repair will be covered by JJI. When we couldn't even get any septic repair to come at such short notice, Joaquin had the tank repaired and a new lid installed before I even got the callback from the local septic services. My experience with many constriction/maintenance work has been dealing with people that want to upsell and essentially get paid and move on. With zero regards that they are dealing with actual people with schedules, lives and families. These guys are not like that. Give them your business. read more
