We hired Precision Tree Care to deal with several massive trees that were constantly raining leaves onto both our roof and our neighbors'--which meant nonstop gutter clogging and growing concerns about insects. Precision has been taking care of our trees/hedges for many years. They do excellent work, keep things clean and know what they are doing. For example, I had a maple that I tried to keep under control. I would trim it up (knowing a bit about what I was doing) and shortly there after would be back at it again. Then one day I asked Ryan if he had a guy that works on maples. He did - the guy trimmed it up and I never had to do much to it after that. it was like magic. When he stopped by to give us a quote, he noticed that a cable that had been installed by a different tree service was much too weak for the tree it was supposed to be supporting. It had actually snapped a few years back, so I knew he was right. I can't believe the other arborist made us pay for that. Precision replaced it with a much stronger cable, trimmed the oaks away from the power line, cleaned out the dead branches from our Monterey pine, and even trimmed a neighbor's tree that was blocking our solar panels. Precision installed a steel cable in my tree. Expected lifespan 10-20 years. Mine broke after 2 years. Reasons why a cable breaks are, improper installation or a faulty product. Ryan's (owner) idea "To make it right" was to charge me "At least $700 for labor only" to install a new one. (Original cost for the cable was $900 which included tree trimming). The cable breaking was not my fault, I did not get 20 years of service, yet I was expected to pay for a new cable without any guarantee that the new one wouldn't also break. We have had Precision Tree Care trim our trees, and cut down Eucalyptus trees many times over the years. They do a great cleanup after the trimming and cutting, but most importantly, the tees always look fantastic when they are done. I abhor a tree trimming job in which the tree looks like it had a bad haircut. Precision Tree Care never lets that happen. The trees always look more magnificent after they are done. I believe they killed my tree and they take no accountability. I had a beautiful 25' tall Spineless Yucca Palm tree. The focal point of my front yard. They were suppose to remove the dead fronds and fruit. Their guys nearly stripped it bare leaving just a few leaves. Those leaves have since died and fallen off. Now , a year latter there's no new growth and my tree is completely bare. I'm afraid it's dead since there were not enough leaves left for the tree to produce photosynthesis. Now I will have to pay for an expert to come and evaluate it's condition and possibly have to pay to have it removed. It's a heritage tree so I will also have to get a permit from the city. No clue what this will all cost. Patty and Ryan really let me down. I used them because they were local and had decent reviews. We have two large Monterey cypress trees in the back yard of our rental home. Ryan and his team have helped us manage them and keep them healthy and well shaped since 2019, despite their proximity to power lines. I've been meaning to write a review for Precision Tree Care for their amazing service. It was a pleasure working with Ryan, Patty and their team of tree cutters who came to trim back our trees. When Ryan came over to look at the job, my husband said he was naming all the trees. We loved that he knew his stuff. I worked with Patty to set up our appointment and she has excellent communication via email and phone. The people who came to trim the trees also did a great job and were very friendly. They had me check and even my neighbor who had some concerns about the trim was happy to say she didn't see any changes on her side as they trimmed only to the fence line as requested. Overall, we had a really great experience with this company. It did take a while for our job to get done but it was a small job so totally understandable. We live in an area with lots of trees so we would definitely work with Precision Tree Care again if and when needed. read more

I had seen Precision Tree Care doing business all over my city, so thought I would give them a call. I called them in December to make an appointment for January to trim three of my large trees. I got signatures from my neighbors and signed all the necessary paperwork. The first red flag is that I had to call and email several times just to get on the books. Then, the day before the appointment, I called to confirm and Patty said they wouldn't be coming out as they had a bunch of emergencies, and could we move it out a week. I thought, hmmmm, when was she going to let me know this - the day of? She said she would call back to confirm the time. I never heard back, so I emailed to confirm (again). Crickets. This was typical of the experience trying to book them the first time, so I decided to go with another tree service and called and emailed to cancel. No reply, no apologies or asking how they might do better. My takeaway is that they don't really care about new clients or new business, especially if they are already busy. I did all the due diligence and was effectively dropped as soon as I cancelled. And I bet you they will not reply to this review. read more
