A great mom and pop company. They do great work, are reliable, on-par price wise with the bigger names but with better customer service. We did a full home (2k sqft) with engineered hardwood and the installer was great at what he did and explaining what we had to do on our end to keep them up (temperature control mostly in those first few weeks). We had 2 spots come apart on us about a year later and I called Joel and he came out right away and fixed them - no cost to us. I have taken several weeks to decide how to write this review. I've gone back and forth between a four and five star review. I had my entire house redone. Kitchen, living room, hall in vinyl plank and three bedrooms redone in carpet. The process took. It was scheduled for three days but things were changed and during the process to take two days. Pros: The end product is beautiful! They do a gorgeous job, are extremely flexible with busy working schedules like mine, and the price point is extremely reasonable for the quality of product (I got 5 quotes from all the major places). I also dealt with the owner as all other reviews say you will which is nice. It truly is a small family business. Cons: I don't know if you'd call this a con but is worth mentioning. This is a VERY small company. A family business. I prefer supporting a family business but I also expected a "team" to come lay my plank flooring and only one person came alone and was here until 8pm- almost a 12 hour day! He did a perfect job. The quality is unmatched and I am very pleased. Also, there were a couple instances of running late and we had to call them to check up - it would have been nice if we would have gotten a call instead of us having to reach out. I met with Joel, the owner of the company, after several attempts with other flooring installers and he was great to work with. My scope of work included removing existing carpet in the bathroom and patching carpet outside the bathroom/master bedroom. Based on his assessment and our expectations, Joel gave several options that could work. Within a day of agreeing to perform the work, he had finished most of it. At the end, my wife and I were super happy with the results. We were very happy with the carpet installation and the quality. The pricing was also very fair. What bothered us the most is that the owner rounded the pricing and taxes. The amount did not come out to the amount we expected. It wasn't far off, but when we inquired about the discrepancy, we got a run around. The owner also promised to send us the pricing breakdown and warranty information, but never followed through. It's unfortunate because had he communicated better and been more accurate with the pricing, we might have used him again for future jobs. As is, we've lost trust in this business. read more

We wanted to replace our carpet on the first floor with either vinyl plank or finish out the hardwood that was already there in the entry and kitchen. Because his pricing was so reasonable, we opted for the hardwood, and we are thrilled. They no-showed the quote appointment, and didn't even call or message. They didn't even respond to my message or voicemail. When I finally got ahold of him -- he blamed me, saying that I never provided him the address. When I submitted for the quote via Yelp, I provided the address - and even if I hadn't, I don't believe it's the customer's fault if you didn't collect the information needed to honor the appointment you booked. read more

Joel and his crew were amazing from start to finish. Joel is incredibly knowledgeable. During the consult, I appreciated talking through the options. We never felt pushed in making any decision. Communication is one of his strengths. When the carpet arrived, he promptly scheduled us for the next day! The next day I got a text that his crew was on their way an hour earlier than expected. His crew were all 100% professional and incredibly hard working. The pair who put down the carpet had three rooms done and were on their way by 1:00 PM. Our job included base trim. Mid-morning Joel called to let us know that the carpenter would arrive by noon. We were shocked! We were prepared for it to be a two day job. The carpenter arrived and worked steadily way into the evening. I felt badly for him, but he was wonderful and gracious. We discovered that the carpet was higher than we expected and the doors wouldn't close. This was totally on us because Joel warned us about it. Nonetheless, the carpentered offered to take care of it, which saved us an incredible headache. Joel has a five star rating on Yelp and he and his crew deserve it. I'm happy to share my experience. My wife and I recently used this company to do LVP in our house. We just had new carpet installed in our living room and bedrooms and wanted the rest of the house done in LVP. Joel showed up on time for the first meeting along with his samples. We didn't want quarter round in the house, and asked if the baseboard trim could be removed and reinstalled, he stated that wouldn't be a problem. We were told the installation would take 3 days, it took 5. We did have to kick out the workers on the second day as it was going on 9pm. Each night they left the house in a shamble as it seemed they were working on all areas at once, no room was left complete until the end of the last day. The flooring looked great at the end, there was some issues with the transition pieces from the hard floor to the carpet, the baseboard trim did not turn out well, and there was caulking on the carpet. I reached out to Joel to make him aware of my concerns, he responded quickly and resolved most of the issues. I would still recommend this company, Joel addressed my concerns, his pricing is fair, and overall the floors turned out great. My recommendation is that his guys focus on one room at a time, clean up after themselves, and maybe hire more people. read more

Not only did they quickly and accurately do the demolition on an old staircase to accommodate the new laminate wood flooring (replacing carpet), but they were able to work with the previous construction that was close-but-not-exactly-90-degree-corners. They worked quickly while still doing a high-quality installation, and were able to beat the other quotes that we got! On top of that, they were able to fix some of the previous laminate flooring that I had installed in the upstairs of our house, including installing some pieces that were too complex for me. We have some other flooring changes that we want to do, and will be hiring Joel's company in the future. read more

We were very happy with the results. The workmanship is excellent, our new floors look fantastic. We had LVT laid down in all public areas of our new house because we love waterproof indestructible flooring. Joel Viesca (owner of JJL Floor Covering) was able to get his team in before our painter and pull carpets and baseboards, and then worked with the painter to coordinate laying the floors as the painting was finished up in other parts of the house. We were especially delighted with Joel's employee Rosario, who did a beautiful job of precisely laying the floor around an existing hearth. We ordered some very expensive Fabrica carpet. I scheduled JJL Floor Covering based on his many positive reviews to install it in our master bedroom and closet as well as a long, dog-leg hallway. Both Joel and his installer were very, very nice. I mis-ordered so we were short, but Joel's installer said he could make it work in the bedroom and closet. After the installer left, I noticed that the one seam he had to put in was very obvious. I don't know if there is any way to fix a seam like that once it's installed. I also found dozens of snags in the carpet from his knee-kicking tool. This carpet was over $100/sy. I felt both problems were due to sloppy, poor workmanship. We had to order more carpet for the hallway, but we are going to use a different installer. When I told Joel about my dissatisfaction, he just accepted the agreed upon settlement and said nothing about even looking at what his workman did much less offer to make it right. My husband and I are both Registered Nurses at Harborview Medical center. We just bought a 3200 ft² home in Edgewood WA and had only two weeks to get major hardwood flooring repairs completed, carpet and vinyl flooring installed. We called JJL flooring and spoke directly to Joel; who promptly came to our home and gave us a reasonable bid that was hard to pass up. My husband and I are in our sixties and not far from retirement and the only home we could afford was a fixer-upper. The hardwood floors were horribly stained and marred, the carpet downstairs smelled like wet dog urine and the rec room was concrete. To make a long story short, JJL Flooring did a PHENOMENAL job with not only repairing and refinishing our hardwood floors but also installing new carpet (sealing the floors and placing a moisture barrier pad under the carpet) and installing vinyl flooring in the rec room..... All within two weeks. We were able to move in on time and our floors are beautiful! I can't say enough about how much I appreciate what they did for our home. Hence the 5 Star rating!
