Decent place western pub fare - good portions, taste & reasonable prices Our group order included : calamari, vegan burger meal, avocado salad, fish & chips, half rack ribs meal + (forgot the rest) Excellent customer service from host to waiter, good food presentation & overall taste was good. Our server kept forgetting to bring us things we requested, several times. She was friendly but quite robotic. We ordered 2 fish 'n chips dinners at $22.95 / ea. Several other restaurants next door offer it for $15.95. The fish was cooked perfectly. This was the only redeeming thing about the meal. The batter on the fish was greasy and soggy. I was able to press my fork into it gently, only to have grease oozing out of it. All I tasted was fish and old grease. You couldn't cut a piece without it falling apart. The fries were equally as soggy, greasy and limp. Again, tasted like old, dirty grease. The coleslaw sauce was watered-down mayonnaise. It was tasteless and not tangy. I used the lemon wedge over the coleslaw to give it some flavour, but it wasn't enough. I will never eat here again, and I recommend you stay away from the horribly soggy fish 'n fries. I wanted to try the stir fry but they ended up out of it. I settled for the butter squash ravioli with grilled chicken and it was pretty decent. I give the fish a 7.5/10z. Came here for a work Christmas party. I got their Sicilian pizza and their onion rings. The crust of the pizza is quite good. It's on the thick and doughy side for sure. With decent amount of toppings. I also really enjoyed their onion rings as well, nicely fried, crisp battered and you can really taste the beer in their batter as well. There was a lot of us so it got quite chaotic, so many of my coworkers orders were missed or got sent to the wrong table. We finally decided to go walk blind around Port Credit and came upon this gem of a place! We walked in on a Sunday 1:30pm and were seated right away with our pup! (10/10 for being dog friendly). We ordered the Lamb Burger & the Fish and Chips, with a few beers on tap. Good Lot Beer - my boyfriend says 8/10 - but frankly I'm sure it's a 10/0 since he got two of them and downed it like it was his last beer in his lifetime Lamb Burger - he says "pretty good" - he said that the party kept sliding away from his mouth so he was sad. I rank it 10/10 because it was actually pretty good. Fish & Chips - A++ (yes these rankings don't make sense) but lots of places tend to screw fish & chips - but this place did it well! However, we got seated fairly quickly, our orders were taken quite promptly as well, and the food arrived pretty fast. We were seated at the patio, which had a nice atmosphere but was a bit cramped. The main floor had seating, a bar, and multiple billiards tables but looked more spacious. I ordered the lamb burger with fresh cut yam fries. The fries were great, especially with the chipotle mayo. The burger itself was good but had a generous layer of goat cheese so it was on the heavy side, even for a burger. They also have a large variety of beer on tap and in bottles. Came here for brunch on a Sunday. The omelettes were good and the bacon was delicious. The reason for the 3-star rating is that we felt like an inconvenience to our waiter. Great hangout spot in Port Credit with a spacious patio. They have one of the the nicest patios on the block. Prices are reasonable especially when compared to the places in the GTA. They don't sell beer by the pitcher unfortunately. You have to buy it by the glass. Choices are mostly domestics microbreweries and European(Austrian, Belgium). No complaints about the food I had the burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were obviously from frozen but were fried nicely and had some crunch to them. The burger was ok the patty tasted like it was freshly ground. I was able to sample the onion rings..they were battered( my preference) I don't think they were from scratch but they were still tasty. Pool tables are clean and well maintained. I am a beginner player and felt more than comfortable there. You do have to pay separately to play pool. Service was decent no complaints. I ordered a pizza that was the same as my son's Sicilian pizza with one veggie substitution and this place charged me for a cheese pizza with all the toppings added individually so it added up to cost $6.00 more (the server said it might be a "little" more). I tried to reason with the manager but he was decidedly not customer-service oriented (apparently the customer is never right). So here I am writing this. I visited the Crooked Cue for the first time last weekend. The restaurant is newly renovated and feels very modern inside. Half of the venue is a restaurant and the other half is billiard tables. Port Credit can get quite busy during dinner hour on a weekend, and although it looked pretty full inside, we were immediately seated in a spacious booth. Service was great and our waitress was lovely. I ordered the classic Fish n Chips which came on a massive bed of fries and the plate was quite small so it was a bit hard to...navigate? Either way, the fish and coleslaw tasted great. The bf ordered a JD Smokehouse burger and he really enjoyed it. Our waitress told us that ingredients are sourced locally around Port Credit. I decided to do something different for my dad's 57th birthday. We typically go out to a sit down restaurant. The venue is two floors, well three counting the washroom in the basement (very well kept in the ladies room, might I add.) The main floor, is restaurant/billiards style. Open concept, clean and spacious, the top floor apparently has ping pong and more pool tables(we didn't make our way up there). The ladies greeted us at the door and promptly confirmed my requests made at the time of reservation (few days earlier). We were then seated and menus provided. They were ind enough to place a little reserved sign on the pool table closest to us :) We ordered a few drinks, our server, Daren, was amazing. He was knowledgeable on the beers and provided a great recommendation for my dad based on a few questions asked. There was a fruity mojito ordered, not the best but by far not the worst. I order a cocktail, Dark and Stormy, this is a must try and it comes in a really cool copper looking mugs. Aptz were ordered, calamari, I've had better. Maybe opt for something else. Their jerk wings (fried) were super tasty! Do not order the steak, for the price and quality, my brother was disappointed. The ribs, quesadilla, salmon burger and fish and chips were good choices. OK. I am going to be the one to break the 3 star review trend here and go out on a limb here and suggest that this is the best spot in Port Credit for European and Ontario Craft Beer! There I said it! Argue with me if you like but you cannot deny the fact that they with 20 Craft beers on tap as well as European faves such as Stiegel on tap that the Cue does Brew right! I was looking for a place to do some work after walking the streets of PC, and the Cue was quiet, had free WiFi and offered me craft beer AND a healthy salad option for lunch (I know if I'm trying to be "healthy" that beer and salad are in direct contradiction of one another... but hell, I'm only human). The Chicken Quinoa Salad was my late lunch of choice and it was excellent, made with a full Grilled Chicken Breast, organic quinoa, baby spinach, dried cranberries, red onion, pine nuts, feta cheese, and topped with a Greek vinaigrette, this was a pub lunch I could be proud to eat! I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, John, and he told me about his passion for locally sourced, organic, anti-biotic free (beef, steak and chicken) that they use in all their food AND that all their breads, produce and desserts come from local vendors (some right in Port Credit). I guess it's safe to say that the beer isn't the only thing that's craft here. And speaking of John, if you have the chance to meet him ask him to talk about Craft Beer - this man knows his stuff!!! I also give them huge points on their patio, and the general cleanliness of the place. the bathrooms were immaculate and unlike many Pool halls the tables looked fresh and well kept. John, the owner, came out and personally introduced our group to craft beer, the fact that they only use locally sourced, hormone/antibiotic-free beef, local vendors for desserts, buns/whatnot. It was obvious that he's passionate about these things. And as a patron, that's important for me to know. If I hadn't gone to this event, I wouldn't know all these things, so again, I'm glad that I went! Approx. 20 craft beers on tap, plus a bunch more in the bottle. Great place to taste an array of beers! If you're not sure and need suggestions, ask the bartender or the wait-staff. Locally sourced, organic beef burger was good. Fries were handcut. So, why come here: Beer, burgers, pool, chill Why you shouldn't come here: you want a quiet romantic evening Service: 3/5 - Waitress was very friendly and while I knew she was busy, I figure that a refill of water shouldn't take 10 minutes. Still, very personable and I can't really fault that much as I wasn't desperate for water. Atmosphere: 4/5 - for a pool hall, pretty decent. Think there were at least 7-8 pool tables, and a ping pong table and some big screen tv's so you can check out all your sports. Food: 3.5/5 I ordered a JD smokehouse burger, which had onion ring, cheese, bacon and Jack Daniels sauce. The burger was HUGE! I looked at my table and said to them, ummm...how do I eat this? So naturally, I took the toothpick out and squished it. :-) All the ingredients were very fresh and they take pride in using locally sourced food, so I gotta give props for that. Super disappointed. Especially since I LOVE the Etobicoke one. This one's much smaller than the Etobicoke location and the service and food here lacks in comparison to the other location. Why the hate, you ask? - Inconvenienced; we were asked to pay separately for the pool and brought another bill for the food. This did not make any sense whatsoever. - Worst margarita ever; next to no salt on the rim, and way too sour. Who goes wrong with a pre-made frozen margarita? These guys! - Worst Caesar Salad ever; no crisp, soggy leaves, no croutons (WTF), 3 little crumbs of bacon (thanks), tasteless chicken. The Etobicoke location serves my favorite Caesar Salad so this one was a mega disappointment. - I tried my boyfriend's Chicken Quesadilla. I have mixed feelings about the Cue. I love it and I hate it too, for different reasons. I love it because I love playing pool. This pool hall isn't tacky, like all of the other ones in Mississauga. It's a wonderful place to go to have a few drinks with some friends, and play some pool. As an eating establishment, I wouldn't really recommend it. Where to begin. The burgers are at least acceptable, a little dry, a little bland, but I can handle it. I tried some pasta they had, it was a rose sauce. It tasted like canned tomato sauce mixed with cream. I've also eaten the chicken fingers, the chicken is fine but the breading really isn't good. Oh, the fries are actually pretty good. Worth a visit for a few games of pool and some drinks, but if you were considering it for dinner, do think twice first. Ain't nuttin crooked about this cue! I came here a while ago with my girl for a Yelp event, unfortunately we had to take our food to go since I needed to catch the next bus out. Let me tell you though, I still dream about that burger. I ordered the JD Smokehouse burger and it was absolutely delicious! You can literally taste the organic-ness. You'll never confuse this burger for a fastfood chain burger, that's for sure. The other thing I loved about this place is their dedication to beer. Being a somewhat more-than-casual beer drinker I have a deep appreciation for beer and this place had a great selection! Not only do they have a variety of beer but the owner is a die-hard beer enthusiast, so he hand picks only certain beers. Tbh I loved this place. I wish I could have stayed and chilled longer with the yelp crew (shoutouts) but alas I will just have to come back here someday soon. A few friends and I visited the Crooked Cue on Tuesday evening who had been before, but it was my first time. I cannot say enough about it. While waiting for my friends to arrive I browsed through the beer menu and was incredibly happy with the large selection. My friends arrived and our waiter came over quickly to take our orders, he was helpful in a selection for us all. Since I hadn't seen these people in awhile we were doing a lot of catching up instead of paying attention to the menu, so I hate to say it but we were those slow, chatty, annoying group. As a former waitress I can tell you this is very frustrating and usually the server will just say they'll come back in a bit and you don't see them for quite awhile, which is entirely understandable. We finally made up our minds and ordered. The food came, two had burgers with fries, and I had the chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. The burgers had juice dripping out and my friends could not stop raving about them. The chicken tenders we're crispy outside and so moist and tender in, and the sweet potato fries were amazing, even better was the chipolate mayo to go with them, and so many places screw it up but this with perfect. As an added bonus, I did not once see anyone just standing around, every single employee was doing something at all times. The restaurant was incredibly clean, as were the rest rooms. I have worked in 3 restaurants of different kinds, and I wish I had co-workers that were more like the employees at The Crooked Cue. We stayed at our table for awhile while on two of us had a few more drinks, but or waiter still kept an eye on us. When we were finally ready to leave, I offered to pay the whole bill, and I left him a generous tip. He looked, his eyes went wide and asked if I was sure. I said I was, and he thanked me countless times. I wish I got his name so that I could request him for my next return. I made sure to email the owner and let him know what a wonderful experience was provided, and he replied quickly, thanking me and letting me know that he would tell his staff. There is nothing "crooked" about this place, not the tables, nor the cues, nor the staff who work here. The atmosphere was relaxed and and the place is in great condition. I had eaten before coming here so I can't comment on the food besides what I saw coming out of the kitchen... it smelled and looked amazing! Oh and they have a patio! I LOVE patios!! The main reason we came in here was to kill some time on the tables. Now, I'm no pool shark, let me tell ya, BUT this is a perfect place to start learning and honing your new skills. There is no competition here all just people looking to play some good 'ol pool. I was in good company with an avid pool player who helped give me some tips and improve on my technique. I have I been doing it all wrong for years! Looks like a traditional "beer and pool" place when you walk in but wait until you see this beer menu! Page after page of options - both local craft and the best from abroad! Currently about 30 options but the owner let me know he will be increasing 80!! Also a solid rotating tap menu including many local favorites (Great Lakes, Spearhead, Muskoka, Camerons). The board rotates frequently so plenty of incentive to keep coming back to see whats new on tap! If you are not sure what to try the wait staff are very knowledgable and can help make recommendations. They also have taster size options so you can try them all! For those not into beer they have a full bar and pretty decent wine options. Also local Cider on tap. I had been here before and the food is pretty good. What I didnt know is that all of it is sourced from right here - in and around Port Credit. All of the meats and veg are organic, and everything is home made either in the kitchen here or from La Villa Bakery, the Sweet Shop etc... The burgers are HUGE - two handers even for the guys.
