Fortunately, I had…read morefull coverage, but was dreading the chore of finding a good reliable contractor who would do the necessary planning and execution of a complete facelift, for the interior of my home. John Loera and his crew from J L Construction, all did a superior job on our re-do. He stayed on track and on budget, which I greatly appreciated. John was very sensitive of the unplanned disruption the fire caused and he did everything humanly possible to restore my home and my life back to normal. Thank you John, job well done and you have a new customer for life ! Buzz Steussy,,,,,,,Palm Springs, CA.

The absolute best contractor in the valley! I've been remiss in not writing this sooner. John and…read morehis team completely gutted and remodeled two bathrooms for me last year and did a beautiful job. He gave me solutions when other contractors told me to figure out an alternative (e.g. two previous contractors told me to buy a certain type of vanity based on the location of a pipe and John opened the wall and said, "Nope, I can move or reroute the pipe, there isn't any electrical or anything in the way that prevents it"). I have a handful of examples like that, and it made me realize that the others just wanted to do everything the easy way. He also found a potentially catastrophic problem under one of the showers that had previously been missed. On top of that, I really appreciated that he has an eye for little details - paint touch-ups, visual alignment, etc. Highly recommend.

Greg is the best. After hearing nightmare stories about friends in our development and other contractors who take the moneyand run he's exception to the norm!

Greg was very punctual, organized, and very detailed orientated the moment I first shook his hand. He came to my house with his portfolio binder containing an area to take notes, special area for pens/pencils, business cards, etc. This showed professionalism and how organized he is, which is something that's hard to find. I ended up choosing Greg because his quote came in around $500-1000 less than the other guys I contacted. We set a time and date for him to show up and left him our garage door opener so he can come and go while we were at work. We had him repair our living room floor (had bad water damage from moisture underneath), put in a new side access gate, repair and install a new side door and frame, and install a bathroom fan and light. What I liked about his work is his attention to detail. Everything was precise and done right, and not to mention, if something was bothering him, he went back and fixed it until he was pleased with the outcome of it. Another bonus was that he gave us options in parts and materials...letting us know the price differences and his own personal recommendations. In the end, he finished everything with in a week and only went $100 over the proposed price (we wanted to upgrade a few things). We couldn't be happier with the work, professionalism and price. He is now our GO TO guy if we need any home repairs, maintenance, remodeling or home improvements!

Fast forward to May 4, I get an email saying that it is actually going to cost me $16,350. The job is supposed to start less than two weeks from now and they are trying to charge me an extra $5,280 at the last possible moment, which is an additional 50% of what the entire job was originally supposed to cost. To make matters worse, I am a rental property owner and I had specifically blocked out this week for the work to be done. Now my next window for having the work done is August as there is no way I can find another contractor to start on May 17 with such little notice. Plus I have taken a big hit to my rental revenue as the house will probably be sitting vacant for the week they were supposed to be there. I can't help but feel this was a big bait and switch to try to get more money out of me, knowing I was stuck with this short window of time to have the job done, and I had no other alternatives. Nonetheless, on principle I told them to cancel the job as I think this is a terribly unethical way to conduct business.
