I took my vehicle in March 2022. I've taken it now twice. My car was so filthy I was embarrassed to take pictures before unless they did for me. This is the best high quality job where they take there time and can even revive my 2006 MDX to feeling new. I'm so happy with this place and highly recommend to everyone. Joanne and her crew were fantastic. I first went to a detailing shop in Marin and almost laughed in the guys face when he gave me an estimate. I contacted JJ'S by text and almost immediately received a response . I brought it down Saturday so she could look @ it and was very happy with her quote. She offered to do it right on the spot, but I wanted to remove all my junk out of the car. I have a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback, which is garaged most of the time. My friend who followed me down to drop it off, said I was wasting my $$$, the car was in great shape .When we picked it up, he couldn't believe the difference and mentioned how the pearl white paint really shined . I managed to get a slot for a cancellation they had today and in my heart I genuinely, genuinely wanted to love this place because it is so close to home. I turned my car in at 12pm and they call me around 645pm to pick up. I told them I wasn't in a rush to get the car back and I requested the car interior shampoo'd and exterior waxed. I paid prior to seeing what the car looked like inside and that was my mistake. Always look at the product before you agree to pay. I had some sticky residue on the car dashboard over from the bottom of a those phone holders I had placed and they didn't touch the sticky residue at all. I pointed it out before I left and Joanne cleaned it up but you still see the some residue on the dashboard. Seeing that the major item I wanted clean DIDN'T get cleaned, I stuck my hand down in the driver seat crevice where little things fall and I picked up trash there too. My car has a large touchscreen in the front seat and the screen wasn't wiped down at all. I paid $250 for this and honestly, my car is a 2017 Honda Civic and is not in bad shape. There are still dirt stains on the seats so I'm not going to hit them for that because maybe they're just tough dirt stains. If you want to go here, they are nice people and they waxed the exterior very well! Super shiny and the car looks great. I personally would go to someone else to get the interior done. Their quality control should have happened prior to calling me back to the shop but definitely only saw what the inside looked like when I came to pick up read more

I had someone key my car (looked like a child's doodle scribbled on one of the side panels). It wasn't deep so decided to try to get it auto detailed instead of going to a paint shop. Johanna and her dad were super friendly, inexpensive and did great work! First, they were up front about what they could do: they said they should be able to get rid of it but were not certain. And since I lived 15 min away, they were able to drive me home while I waited for them to work on it. At the end of the day, when they picked me up and brought me to my car, they had done a great job, couldn't see any sign of it! (again, the scratches from the keying were not deep). And they only charged me $80 (gave them $20 extra for dropping me off at home and the great work). On top of that, Johanna and her Dad are super nice! I trusted them with my 14 year old Porsche 911 for a full exterior and interior cleaning prior to its sale. They did a wonderful job, meticulously cleaning the car, even getting out all the dog hair from the small rear seats. I had a very nice conversation with the owner Joanna over the phone and in person. She even gave me a ride home after dropping the car off. She was responsive to my calls/texts and emails and easy to work with. My car floor flooded in the rains and then I was late to dry it out so it got moldy. I also poured baking soda on it to dry it up but that really just made a bigger mess. They were incredibly helpful and quick to respond. Then got my car back to looking amazingly clean without any sign of mold or mildew. They also saw the foam needed to replaced under the floor fabric and did that quickly. Overall just a really great, trustworthy, and affordable business. Honestly, I questioned why he purchased the car based on how filthy the interior was. We contacted JJ's for a quote and brought the car in the following day. The service the team provided was nothing short of amazing! The car was completely brought back from the dead (inside and out). As other reviews have mentioned, this is not a designated "shop". It's located behind an auto body shop on a lot. It's in close proximity to the Albany Target, but that's about it. Ultimately, if you're getting a deep clean service like we did, you'll need to arrange for a ride as there isn't a waiting area. We found the prices to be reasonable based on all of the other quotes we received. We're extremely satisfied with the service and would definitely use JJ's in the future. read more

They were fantastic. I had someone show interest in my truck I was a selling and wanted to see it the next day. I contacted JJ's and luckily someone had rescheduled and they helped me get an appointment. They did INCREDIBLE work. I couldn't believe how clean the truck was, especially because I'd used it to transport dogs and there was a lot of dog hair to clean up. I actually made sure the prospective buyer knew there'd be hair in it. Unbelievably, there wasn't any hair in the truck when I got it back from JJ's and the buyer was over the moon. OK, about 3 weeks ago I transported a PIG in my family's vacation SUV. Oh I wish I didn't but too late now. This is going to be an expensive lesson learned. I messaged and called a couple places on Yelp, Facebook, and Nextdoor. The ones who got back to me ghosted me after I explained that I transported a pig and already shampooed my car twice and still had a horrible smell in my car. Imagine a compost bin in the backseat of you car that had been sitting for months. I couldn't even drive it! Well, Joanna got back to me and was so honest from the get go. She told me that they could shampoo and detail the inside but that wouldn't guarantee the smell would be gone. I would also run in to the problem of possible mold growing under the carpet because it was so wet from me trying to shampoo the smell away. I knowingly took the risk and agreed that I would have the car detailed for $300 and still might have to replace the carpets in the car down the road. I dropped my car off in the morning when they opened and picked it up later that evening. When I opened the door it was like a miracle. It smelled like a new car again! I couldn't believe it. They worked their magic and removed any sign of there ever being a pig in the car. Joanna told me that even though the smell is gone, I wasn't out of the woods yet. She told me what to look for in the next coming weeks in regards to the mold, what to expect and what I might need to do in about 4-5 weeks. I am on day 4, car smells amazing even when running the heater. I am praying that I won't have to replace the carpet but she took care me on that part as well. I already have an idea of what that will cost me. I will definitely be back to JJ's for the detailing of my other vehicles. This place is A-MA-ZING. Difficult to find unless you know it's there (no sign out front; it's next to Mr Pizza Man), wandering around like a goon looking for it was worth every bemused stare. They took my 1989/90 Mazda Miata and brought her back to life. Not only did they clean, wash, wax, and practically buy her dinner, they advised me that a completely refreshed car deserves a fresh start; they removed every piece of crap in my car - the beat-up soft plushie that's sun damaged; car receipts from 5 years ago; so many pens! - and put them in a bag for me to go through. This gave me the opportunity to select what I put into my car with my wise mind, and not just blindly toss any old thing in it. They are awesome people doing an awesome job in every way. I wish I could give it more stars. After reading all reviews I was expecting an excellent service. I called in advance and brought my car for an inside detailing in the morning. They advised me to come and pick it up in 4 hours. It wasn't ready until after they were already closed - I was waiting for 20 mins on-site while they were hurriedly finishing the job. At the end, most things weren't done at all - doors, parts of the dashboard, cupholder, etc. They did a great job on the seats and carpet though. I would say the price should have been 40% less for what I got in the end and for the wait. read more

I called in and was told that a full detail starts at $80, depending on your car. I drive a Cadillac Deville and so I figured with the leather seats and larger interior I'd probably end up paying $100. I get down to the job site, and ask one of the guys how much my car is going to cost; he tells me only JJ can quote me but that he'll probably charge me around $120. A 50% markup over their base price sounds steep to me, but I can deal. I wait and JJ finally arrives, swaggers over, sees the Cadillac emblem on my hood, and apparently decides to take me for a ride. One hundred eighty dollars, he tells me. "What happened to the $80 I heard over the phone?" I ask. He proceeds to provide an in-depth description of all the great work he's going to do for my car. "What price will make you happy?" he finally asks. "$80 would make me happy, but I'll settle for $100." He laughs like I just made a good joke. I try and work him down, but $140 is the lowest he'll go. That's 75% more than his base price he gave out over the phone; I get the distinct feeling I'm dealing with a man who doesn't advertise fairly and has little use for honesty, the sort of man I don't want crawling all over my car, and so I drive away with my money safely in my pocket. read more

On second thought, maybe going with the detailer who does business out of a Lincoln town car in the back alley of a lot on the Eastshore Highway wasn't the best move... I went to JJ's on a rainy day after having spilled an entire bottle of tangerine juice on the floor of my carpet about a week prior. Don't ask. I had tried cleaning it myself a couple of times, but the smell lingered, so I figured I would take it somewhere to clear my head of it. JJ's "associate" told me that they use a really great product, very concentrated, and she thought I'd be happy with the work. "Is there anywhere I can go while you do it?" I asked sort of facetiously because their office is literally a Lincoln town car in the back alley of a lot on the Eastshore Highway. She suggested I go to Target, or offered to let me sit in the back seat of the office and get to know her and JJ (I assume) better. I opted for a long walk in the rain. Bottom line, my car still smells like tangerine juice and I'm not entirely convinced they did anything but wet the carpet and make sure to have the heat blasting to dry it when I returned an hour later. So much for that concentrated product. I'm only giving this place two stars in lieu of one because the woman who worked with me was pretty nice; she even suggested (as if she knew the cleaning had been unsuccessful) that I just buy a box of arm and hammer for the back seat. What I am about to tell you sounds like something out of a fictional horror story... but it was not fictional it happened to me. Picture it 30 day old car (I have not even made a payment on it). I am driving down 80 and I see a can of spray paint fall out of the back of a work truck - I can't swerve I can't do anything except drive through a huge cloud of bright sky blue paint. I can't think I can't breathe all I can do is pull over and cry... not just any cry, but the ugliest yowliest cry ever. I managed to pull myself together for a moment of clarity - I must get my car to a detail shop NOW!!!!! I pulled my phone out - went to Yelp and found said detail shop. J & J's is literally a backyard operation, but don't let that fool you - they are professional and reliable. I had my 2003 Saab 9-3 detailed at J & J's half a year ago. I had just bought the car and boy, it was dirty. I also hadn't gotten a lot of love from its previous owner. Since I live nearby and J & J's shop got great reviews, I dropped in and immediately got a quote and an appointment for the next morning. Everything ran perfectly on schedule, and when they had worked their magic, I could barely recognise the Saab, it looked so new. When I got back home, I noticed that the motor wash we had agreed upon hadn't been done. However, all it took to fix that was a call. They were very gracious about their mistake and washed the motor at no additional charge the next morning. One thing I would like to mention is that their service was on the more expensive side, and this is why I am giving J & J four stars instead of five. I was happy with the results though.
