This of course rendered negligible improvements. I say this with confidence, AEA Academy is by far the most effective tutoring center we have tried out. The tutors here have the ability to comprehensively cover an entire school year's worth of material in two months. In addition to their speedy yet effective curriculum plan, the staff here hold high regard for and subsequently, improve student versatility outside of academics. From personal experience, AEA changes the way a student may view challenges from the classroom to their everyday lives. Speaking as someone who does not typically go out of their way to build a relationship, the simple things like everyday conversations and occasional guidance has taught me patience. This may seem odd, but due to the methods that the teachers here use, such as the integration of casual conversation into studies, I have felt a dissipation of my long-lasting sense of education being a burden. And from the rubble of my previous perceptions of tutoring, came an increased appreciation for the process of learning and an increased will to learn. Her dad and I had a hard time trying to teach her math concepts on our own as she would get frustrated. We made the decision to get her some help after seeing Mathnasium in a shopping center by our house. It was expensive for us and our budget to send her but I will say this, It was the best decision we had ever made for her educationally. The improvement in her math skills was greater than I could ever imagine. She went from scoring in the 40% - 50% in her lessons and tests, to scoring in the 80% - 95%. She even got a few 100% on her tests. They use a reward system which clearly works very well for the kids. Every time I looked inside while she was doing her lessons, she always looked like she was having fun. Sophia is incredible as well. She does so well managing all the kids and making sure they are all doing what they should be doing and performing as they should. She is very kind and always made accommodations whenever things popped up and our daughter couldn't make it. Unfortunately our family is moving states so she can no longer attend, but if you are interested in getting extra math tutoring for your kids, I could not recommend Mathnasium enough. It truly was the best investment we ever made.

The pace of lessons are tailored towards the student; if a faster pace is preferred he can do that, and he really excels in helping those who want to understand how and why everything works together. Very patient in explanations and works to make sure the student understands the concept. Not only that, but he stays up late helping students with math and answering questions past midnight. He cares about his students and I'll definitely miss his classes as I'm off to university. There are many math tutors, but Terry is the person you go to for an in-depth understanding of coursework.
