For the price, I can't complain :) There are definitely places to improve! This was my mom's first massage experience, and we got the 30 min foot + 30 min body massage for $35 each (before tip), and it was a good one hour respite from the real world, yayyy ^_^ We requested our masseuses to be ladies, and they complied graciously by calling two women in by phone~ so nice! First, the foot massage consists of a quick hot soak and then a reflexology session (more pressure points than salt scrubs and lotions), and it's done in a big room with others. It might be painful at parts, but that's a good sign that they're working their magic! Although relaxing music plays throughout, the workers not only answered their phones, they also held short conversations and stopped massaging my mom and still counted it as part of the massage time (Nyuuuuu!)... Any body massage portions are done in private rooms. It's a good, standard massage. They ask whether you need more or less pressure, and even the ladies apply lots of pressure (they use their entire body weight!). I do wish they used more oil though-- feeling like I'm getting rug burn at times isn't much fun! (￣￣) Overall, this place is solid and clean. My mom was happy with her massage-- mission success! If I really needed a fantastic massage for pure relief and fatigue, I would pick somewhere else. But if you just need to maintain your calm and feel good for a bit, this place is a great choice that won't destroy your wallet. I've been to quite a few foot massage places, and each has its pros and cons. I'm giving this place 4 stars mainly because it was only $20. You don't get a private room or partitions, nor do you get scrubs to change into or lockers to store your belongings; BUT, you get a clean, quiet place with nice professional staff (not the ones that smell like smoke or chat with each other the entire massage). There's always room for improvement, but if it means raising the price, I am perfectly content with what I'm getting for what I'm paying. read more

Terrible massage!!! My boyfriend and I got the full body massage and it was SO hard to relax. They kept talking the entire time. When I asked them (kindly) to stop, they ended up whispering. That's extremely rude. We paid for that hour, and the least they could do was be considerate of it. We both agreed that the massages were mediocre at best. They both pulled our hair during the head massage. The back massage was basically them putting lotion on us. The arm and leg massages did not have enough lotion, so they ended up pulling our skin (like an indian burn). Annoying! And they never wiped any lotion off. We left irritated already and didn't tip the full 20%. The owner/manager working the front desk questioned us why we were leaving a larger tip. Really? Because we wasted our time in your establishment. We understand that this is Bellaire and not a massage at Massage heights. However, several other places in china town give better massages. The massage was good given the price. They are not getting five stars due to the customer service of the manager. Points to note: - upon entering, the manager expected us to have an appointment - this is not the best option if u like a deep tissue type massage - upon leaving the manager pushed for cash ( even though on their door cards are accepted) - she also said 20% tip was mandatory even though there was no sign ( regardless of type of service) which was a lie. If you are looking for a reasonable and amazing massage this is the place for you!! In a sea of a million foot massage places it can be hard to pick just one, but this is consistently my go to place. You start with a foot soak while they massage your shoulders and arms. After they are finished there they take your feet out of the water and give the main part of the massage which is the feet and legs. This is by far my favorite part and it seems to last forever, which in a massage, is awesome! Once that is over you are taken into a room to lay on a table and get some back work in. You are fully clothed the whole time so make sure you dress comfortably. I have never had a bad massage here even when having different people do it which is also pretty rare. A 60 minutes foot (really a whole body) massage for $20 plus tip is beyond a great deal and one of my favorite things to do in Houston! read more

The last time I got a massage there the masseuse was extremely rough; I left far more tense than when I arrived. Given that I was not impressed with the service I tipped the lady less than 20%, which is what I deemed fair. The owner/manager at the front was extremely rude, sneered at my tip, and made an unprofessional compliment instead of thanking me for my patronage. This place wouldn't have been so bad if my masseuse didnt breath so heavily and burped as he massaged me. Foot massage is $20 an hour but it's more like 30 min body and 30 min foot. My friend told me he had a female masseuse and she didnt use enough strength for him to feel anything during massage. Also they wont ask what strength you want your massage in so that explains. Jet lagged and out of homeostasis for a whole month due to traveling overseas I certainly had some body aches and kinks but coming here relieved a lot of pain and really put me at ease! My masseuse was attentive to the tensions in my body and worked very hard to unknot those kinks. I did the 90 minute body and foot massage for $55 in which I felt comfortable throughout the duration. The foot massage was good but she could have used more pressure (should've spoken up) but the body/back massage was fantastic, loosened me up and helped me feel more aligned. My friend and I went for the first time today and loved it. We both did the 30 minute foot massage/30 minute full body combination for $35. Absolutely cannot beat that price and the quality was great. We were both very happy with our decision to go! The hours are fantastic as well, they are open late and have quick availability which is extremely convenient. The staff is also very friendly. The foot massage chairs were uncomfortable in my opinion and it's a bit awkward that you're out in the open during that part of the massage - would prefer at least some curtains between people. During the body massage you are laying on an actual massage table in a room which is fantastic. We both always tip well (around 30%) but both of our therapists stood over our shoulders watching us fill in the tip on the receipt. That would be an issue for a client that may not have enjoyed their experience. The only real complaint/issue I had is that there is a very small fish tank with a lot of very large fish that was extremely sad to see because they had no room to roam. Honestly if the fish didn't seem so squished in their tiny tank I probably would have given five stars.. if you care about animals it's hard to look at. Other than that I do highly recommend and will most likely go back soon. read more

My favorite Chinatown Massage! I searched everywhere for the best "foot" massage I can get for $20 and hands down this is the best one! It was so good that for the first few months, I would literally come here at least 3 times a week and then I realized I was getting addicted so I slowed down. I've brought my boyfriend, family, and friends here and everyone has nothing but good things to say about this place (it was so good, my boyfriend even wrote a 5 star review for them -- haha). The first 40 minutes is a massage from your head all the way down to a focus on your feet. When you've danced yourself silly the night prior, your feet DESERVE to be treated at JL Luxurious Foot Spa. There are something like 10 different foot massage parlors in this popular strip mall in China Town, but I'm very glad we decided to try out JL (which we were wary of w/o any other reviews on Yelp). Honestly, JL had 2 things going for it before we even walked in - it was dark out and JL was brightly lit, and it was open till 11 while it's competitors closed around 9. JL for the win! As we approached the store, I got nervous because there was a club next door that was blasting techno - that didn't read "peaceful" in my mind, but I'm glad we still decided to go in and spend a whopping $20 each for 60 minutes of foot and body rubs!!! I think most of the other places cost $25 or $30 for a 60 minute foot reflexology session, so again JL was impressing us! We were relieved to find that the massage room was quiet, and we couldn't hear the techno from next door. We just got married the day before, so it was awesome to have the salon all to ourselves. It was cold inside, and our masseuses immediately brought out heated pillows for our necks and hot water for our feet, and within seconds I was toasty and feeling good. Even my skeptical husband was totally enjoying the experience!!! Our masseuses started off with head and neck rubs, and then spent a good time on our feet and calves. It was so peaceful, I was drifting in an out of sleep while also having a great time. After about 55 minutes, our masseuses asked us to move to individual massage rooms, where we received an extra 10 minutes of back massages (a treat we didn't get at one of the other massage places in the strip mall a few weeks ago, and which cost more too!). Seriously, $20 for this service is SUCH a steal. Having a job that involves weekly travel certainly comes with its perks. But with it comes unavoidable anti-perks, like hightailing it through the airport every week in business heels to narrowly avoid having the gates close on the back of my feet. So naturally, it was a no brainer for me to visit JL after reading so many raving reviews for their foot massage. God knows my poor travel-weary toes are in need of a little TLC. On the second floor of the plaza, JL is located above a plethora of little Asian eateries and cafes, whose primary purpose is to delay any and all progress you were making to meet your massage appointment as you come to a full stop, distracted by the colorful baiting posters of shaved ice, bubble teas, and smoothies. You win, you win. Here, you can have my $$$. One boba drink later, I finally make it into JL's homey little establishment to find myself being ushered into a comfortable plush lean-back seat with pillows for head and back support as well as a light blanket and eye cloth. The room is dimly lit and as I start to relax, my masseuse suddenly plunges my feet into a scalding bucket of water. This is a traditional step in Asian foot massages, but I'm pretty sure I bit back a yelp. You have been warned. As I am still trying to determine whether or not the skin on my feet have melted off, the masseuse begins the session with a head, neck, upper back, shoulder, and arm massage. This comes included in the foot massage? I'm game! Legs are included in the follow up foot massage and after she stops, I start to thank her thinking the session is over, only to be led to a massage table in a private room where I get a full back massage. At this point, I bewilderedly asked her if this was still part of the foot massage and she shook her head at me with an affectionate expression of "Oh, you noob." and then proceeded to ignore me and use her elbow grease into the tension of my back muscles. An hour later, I stumble out to the reception, fulling expecting them to have pulled a fast one on me: "Oh ho, we actually gave you the DELUXE spa treatment you did not sign up for. Pay up the big bucks." But all I got was a: "60 minute foot massage. $20 please." You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, find a better deal. $20 for an hour massage? Ok....1 star rating for several reasons. One main thing that bothered me is that they DON'T switch towels between clients. Per confirmation from the lady at the front (I'm guessing the manager) they only switch the towels once a day and wash it once a day. Which is EXTREMELY gross because I didn't know who's sweat and dandruff was on the towel before I got my massage. Second, the masseur would be switched off during the session. I started out with a guy massaging me then at the end it was a lady massaging me. Third, I didn't get massage time I paid for. It ended up being a 50 minutes massage rather than a 60 minutes. 4th, so much talking! In the front, massage area, and the back. Can't really get rest here If the workers there actually smiled I would give this place 2 stars....maybe. My sisters and I have never gotten a foot massage in Houston before and randomly came here on our weekend trip. First thing that caught our attention were the prices! We only had time for a 30 minute foot massage and for $15 each it was well worth it! We didn't expect much from the prices and from the entrance decor but when we went behind the curtains there were nice leather seats ready for us to really relax. I was hesitant about coming here based on the reviews about cleanliness and chattering but it was perfectly quiet even with other clients on opposite chairs. The massage itself was great! Both my sisters and I were able to get our feet massage at the same time and we definitely enjoyed it. All three masseurs were kind and knew what they were doing. We're definitely going to come back the next time we visit! If you're looking for a quick massage that won't cost you an arm and a leg this is definitely the spot! If you know David and I, you know we are pretty much foot massage experts!! We've tried so many places in Chinatown and this place really is one of the best. We recently got hooked on their $35 30 minute foot, 30 minute body massages. Completely worth it! In case you're one of those poor souls who's never had the opportunity to experience a foot massage, it basically goes like this. Sit in a chair, they start with your head/neck/shoulders, maybe a bit of arms/hands for about 10 minutes then focus on your feet/legs for about 30 minutes. After that, you flip over and the rest of the time is back/shoulder stuff. Every masseuse is a bit different, but once you find someone you like, call in advance and request him/her! Personally, we love Hans and Leo. But we've had about 6 different people massage us and they've all been good. Yes, you start in a communal room. If it's not busy, the part on your belly is in a more private room. If you do the $35 massage, then it will definitely be in a private room for the last half. Make sure to let them know if you'd like more/less pressure, they're always happy to accommodate. And don't forget to tip!!! read more

The service here is amazing and the prices are beyond reasonable. $20 for a foot massage that basically covers your whole body is a not a bad deal at all. I've been twice and both times were amazing. The first time I had a woman work on me and it was pretty good. The second time I went I had a man and he was over the top amazing..might have been because my body was aching really bad. I've tried a few of the $20 foot massage places in the chinatown area and this one was by far the WORSE. As I entered, I was hoping for a calm, relaxing massage but what I got was an obnoxious "has it been an hour yet?" experience. Another customer was snoring so loud next to me that one of the workers offered me ear plugs (thoughtful, I guess?). I respectfully declined because I doubt the ear plugs are brand new (gross). The woman working on me was far from professional. She would get up and leave for minutes at a time, minutes that weren't added to my hour. How she massaged one side of my body wasnt uniform with the other side. When she was chit chatting in Chinese to another one of the workers, she was doing a half-a$$ job on me and sometimes even paused. Little did she know, I understand Chinese and knew what she was chatting about. - - Apparently about other customers leaving only $5 dollar tip and how cheap they were. Great foot massage place, very similar to others around town. The chairs are much better than others, more like recliners, less like tables. I'm 6ft and some are very uncomfortable to try and fit my feet into buckets, these were awesome, almost fell asleep. After the face, head, arms, she did the feet then on to another room for more back and leg work. I was very impressed that she jumped up and walked on my back and legs. I love that element of Thai massage and will definitely be back for more. $20 for the massage and a well deserved $10 tip makes it a very quiet, relaxing hour that makes me wonder why I would ever pay $60 at the massage places in the suburbs. I had a pretty stressful day at work today, and I haven't had the time to go to my usual massage therapist. When I'm between my usual sessions I go to local foot massage places like this one. First time here. It hit the spot. I just wanted to relax. Nothing too crazy or out of body experience. I had a 90 minute foot massage for $35. It included a quick neck, head, and arm massage before they focused on my feet. Towards the end they took me to a room and did a quick back massage. Aside from the incoming clients talking right outside, I have no complaints. Affordable, this is going to be my new spot. Average reflexology massage place. You get what you pay for. I like to try different places around town, so I went here one night with my boyfriend. It was a Sunday night around 8PM. There was noone else here but us. We got the $35 massage that had a 30 minute foot massage and 30 minute body massage. I watched the time, and they did give us a full hour which was good. 35 minutes for our feet and 25 minutes for our body. The first room pass the curtains has 8 lounge chairs where they do the feet portion. The towels on the chair looked like they don't get changed out between customers because you can see the indentation and creases where the person has laid. For the body massage, you are moved to a private room. I'm not sure if they have a room for a single person, but we did get moved to a room with two beds. My biggest complaint was that the two people giving the massages would not stop talking to each other! There was soft music playing that was supposed to help us relax, but I honestly couldn't tune out the constant chatter. You can also hear all the cell phones in the back room go off, and the laundry machine running. It is not a very relaxing place. My boyfriend said that his massage was too rough, and I felt that mine was very repetitive. The guy would do the same motion on the same toe for a good couple minutes, and then move to the next toe doing the same motion. It was like it was to get time to pass by. Another thing that bothered me was when we went to go check out, and the two people followed us. Its like they watch us to make sure we leave a tip. My guy went outside for a smoke, but there's a huge glass window there, so I can see him looking over my shoulder counting the cash that I was leaving. I felt really uncomfortable. I understand how difficult the service industry is, so although I may not enjoy something or the experience, I will always leave a decent tip. Everyone has their bad days, so maybe I just caught them at a bad time. That doesn't mean they don't deserve a tip... Just don't watch me. If you want a basic, cheap massage, but not necessarily relaxing, then this is the place to go to. I would not come back though. read more
