The owner claimed there were issues in the Raleigh area in early December 2024, and said his workers could not come to work, which caused repeated delays. During installation, the crew--who did not speak English--placed the fence too close to my neighbor's house. When I raised the issue, they refused to move it. They claimed I had instructed them to place it there, which is incorrect, and the owner also refused to correct the placement. About six months after the fence was installed, it started falling apart. There are now large gaps between the doors, and although they said the wood was pressure-treated, it's already buckling. I called him and explained the issue, and he was completely dismissive, saying that he only works for the customer and it's too bad if the rest of us (over 100 cars per day) can't see around the corner. I had to follow up with the city, who determined that the fence was not built according to the permit. American Heritage still hasn't addressed the issue, but when they do, I'm curious whether they will do so at their own expense or whether they'll charge the neighbors extra to move the fence. Either way, I would never hire this company to build a fence for me.

They agreed to my request for a partial discount (I had originally paid everything in full to be done with the account, but they offered to refund me the amount I was asking for, which I felt was fair), and they told me they would send one of their most experienced crews to my home to completely replace the gate and ensure it was up to standard. I agreed and within 3 weeks, I received a call from one of the owners who wanted to personally apologize for everything. He mentioned that they've made internal changes and assured me that future clients shouldn't run into the same troubles I did. The replacement gate was properly installed in a few hours, and the panels now align and the gates hang square, which is the exactly quality standards I expected from the start. I'm now finally satisfied with my fence.
