Work started as scheduled with Steven as our PM and he kept us well informed along the way, handling any issues as they arose and minimizing disruption to the rest of the house. The NKB carpenters (Michael and Jorel) were excellent and kept things moving onsite along with some great subcontractors for plumbing, electrical and tile that Steven aggressively coordinated to ensure the project progressed quickly. The end result was better than we hoped and we only had one small change order for a late change we made to the plan. We truly appreciated the professionalism and flexibility of the whole NKB team from the design process with Tong through final payment with Adelya in Finance. They kept us on schedule and on budget with no surprises. We now have a beautiful bathroom that we will enjoy for years to come!

He basically bullied me on the phone telling me to figure it out. What happened to good customer service? And prior to that I had their tile guy come out to explain to me why there is all this white stuff around my bathroom shower tiles. He basically said he didn't know and didn't offer any suggestions. Time has passed and I realized it was hard water stains. But I was offered no explanation and when I called Danny, he never returned my call. I would never do business with this company ever again. Horrible customer service.

Someone took the time to label our cabinets as broken but never ordered new cabinets for us. Then the audacity to deliver broken cabinets to a customer's home? Apparently, we were expected to accept broken cabinets even though we paid for brand new cabinets? Multiple other drawers delivered to us were broken, then the replacement drawers delivered to us were the wrong color. It has taken about 3 months to finish installation because of all these errors. Please do yourself a favor and purchase kitchen cabinets elsewhere.

He is frank in his evaluations and makes his projects structured and flow beautifully. The have this remodelling thing down. They have their own crews in almost all of the trades you would need. Their crews are well supervised and the transparency and documentation are meticulous. He works with his sisters as project managers. We worked with Lorraine and she was a font of knowledge, guided us in our choices and is fully informed. Our project flowed just as they promised and were "on it" all the time. We're in the process of designing a new house and one of the (many) options we had to choose was…read moregranite for the kitchen and bathrooms. Our builder had us go to Boston Granite Exchange and we had a pleasant experience. The granite is organized by price but they do it via colored circles, so a piece of granite with a red sticker is their cheapest granite while their gold and silver stickers are the most expensive (I don't think there was a color above these). The granite with the pricey stickers were indeed the most beautiful as they really sparkled under lighting, but we found two slabs in the red/blue categories (the cheapest) that we were happy with. Note that the salesman said that all of their granite is the same high quality - the more expensive granite is just less common (or more sparkly) so that made us feel better. The only strange thing is that they won't give you prices on the granite because I guess that's negotiated between the contractor and this shop. Odd, but I think we stayed close to our allowance and we can't wait to see these slabs turned into countertops for our kitchen and bathrooms!

Went here last weekend to check out their granite selection for my mom at the recommendation of our…read moregranite installer, Hubstone Works. We didn't expect to get much out of the trip but luckily, we were so wrong. Boston Granite Exchange has a great color coding system where the stickers they put on the slabs already estimates the price range from low, medium to high. The slabs themselves are organized in very neat rows and viewing it by price range and design is a cinch. Needless to say, we "tagged" her piece within the first half hour we arrived. Now for the next part of our kitchen nightmare....

Update: Finally got delivery scheduled for Tuesday 10-11AM. At 11:45 I called to inquire where…read morethe delivery was. I was told they'd call me back. at about 1 I checked my email and there was a message that the truck got a flat and could they reschedule. I wrote back sure any time after 4:30 that day would be great. Another email said sure we can deliver after 4:30. At 4:50 (since they close at 5) I called and had to threaten to cancel the credit card payment. Vanity Showed up at 5:15. Later that night I emailed them back that the vanity was installed and when can they come to template the top. It's two days later and two emails later (another one this morning) and a phone call and they'll get back to me. Bill Shea's just gave me a quote for the same price for the same counter top, they'll come next week to template and should have the countertop ready for install in 10 days from that. I think I'm going to dispute the credit card charges if I don't hear back by the end of today and go with Bill Shea's. AVOID VANITY WORLD unless you want a never ending project. 2nd Update: Went to VW to ask for refund for the countertop part of my bill. They refused and told me to "Get the F*&k out". Contesting with credit card company. Looks like this will end up in small claims.

George was nice enough during the order process, but when there was a problem with the product he took no responsibility and offered no apology. Acknowledgment goes a long way, but instead he just ordered another one and moved on. Nothing about the exchange was pleasant or noteworthy. Even now, months later, I still feel unsettled. Next time I'm happy to pay a little bit more and go someplace else. Trust me, there are other bath and kitchen shops that will treat you right. Keep looking.

Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

Robin helped me from start to finish with my new house build. Even during the pandemic she has been on top of things and instructing me to get things ordered prior to shipment delays. She and her team have been responsible, proactive, and truly professional. They are communicating with my contractor and his team and his cabinet installer told me it was such a pleasure working with them he would like to do more jobs with them. Any mistakes (Fedex dropped a vanity and it cracked) were handled quickly and replaced at no cost to me. Her attention to detail is incredible. Additionally, she was very focused on saving me money and making sure I was not buying things I did not need. It has been a true pleasure working with Robin and her team again. I order a granite counter top from "countertops express" from the owner "cliff Leonard" for the…read morefirst time for one of my rental property and we schedule measurements a week that was done by another company that also installed the granite and brought twice broken granite so check every little thing also didn't put and didn't have the silicone for the granite completely unprofessional I had to call "cliff Leonard" to get this done and provide the silicone after "cliff" got paid completely the full amount. After a few weeks I called because they didn't sealed the sink with silicone correctly so water was leaking I was very polite and explained the situation to "cliff Leonard" he was trying to say everything to not take any responsibility of the work he sold. And this was his reply to me " I'm done with you" and hang up the my call. I'll mention that I still have warranty that he promised And that a violation of state laws. I'm sharing this on google so people well know what to expect when working with "countertops express" and with "cliff Leonard" specifically. I'll also mention that I own more rentals and he just lost all my future business with this company. Recently ordered a Carrara marble vanity top and matching threshold. Frangioso was extremely…read morehelpful in sizing the sink to the top, which needed to fit on a fairly small vanity. This shop fabricated the top and threshold to our specifications very quickly. We were able to see the slab beforehand at the warehouse in Avon, which was very convenient to Braintree. In addition, I was able to consult directly with one of the fabricators, Hugo, and pick up the finished materials. Hugo provided outstanding customer service. I'll be going back for materials on future jobs.
