Surprisingly the low ball option were t so low. We chose DK&M after looking at reviews and remodels they've done. What was essentially a new cabinet project turned into a much bigger job with a wall separating the kitchen and dining area knocked down and a large opening cut in the wall separating the kitchen and living area. We went with a cabinet design from Waypoint that while a standard cabinet are proving to be solid and well manufactured. DK&M (Bill Reed) explained the process and timeline very well and then met the timeline exactly. We replaced the range and microwave as part of the project. Given this was done between January and March 2020 eg COVID time we were surpassingly unaffected by material issues and in fact most vendors were ahead of schedule. They partner with Envy Remodeling and the team Rob sent in was top notch. Very professional, on time , and excellent at their jobs. I did some rough analysis of material and labor costs and based on the hours spent onsite and similar big box store cabinet prices we feel it was a fair project cost. Looking back it was a very smooth process with no drama. We would highly recommend this team for any remodeling job.

To make matters worse when I told the owner, he indicated that he had to move his van 3 times in one day. Apparently, it's my fault to want to use our drop off spot which interfered with their laziness to walk to the parking lot. I got quotes from about 10 contractors. It would have cost nearly $100K to "perfectly" finish the basement. It would have involved some kind of heroic measures, like raising the house, excavating and pouring an entirely new foundation, and/or completely redoing all the plumbing. This was beyond our budget. However, with some compromises and creative problem solving, Jeff and his crew were able to build out the space I wanted on time, and on budget... for around $20K. (I can even stand upright in it.
