I have been fishing with Capt Jason for many years. I have never met a more pleasant, experienced, and skilled guide. When I first started kayak fishing I really didn't know what I was doing. Captain Jason Stock sure knows his fishing. I offshore fished with Jason last weekend and it was non stop action. We crushed the Amber Jacks, Grouper, Hog Snapper, and even landed a beautiful Triple tail on the way in. Seas were 2-4' and Jason knew how to drive his 23' Hanson perfectly. Jason had pinfish traps already set for when we got out on the water, therefore we didn't spend any time chasing bait. Weather conditions were favorable, but no one cared because we were catching fish ALL day long. Jason wasn't rushing us to head in and was on top of the bite. I take my 92 year old grandpa, my Mom, and my buddies out with Jason a few times a year. As locals we have high expectations. His spacious open boat lets us go in very skinny back bays to target big snook, redfish, trout and flounder, but also lets us get out to the reefs for giant grouper, sharks, snapper, mackerel, hog fish, amber jacks and Tarpon on the beaches. While he is a professional and serious about catching fish, his energy creates a fun experience! He is great about supporting beginners and being patient, but also great for serious fishermen. I've been out with Jason a few 4 or 5 times now with several different friends. Each time, everyone aboard had a blast. Jason is very personable and always willing to explain and teach what he knows. My son and I had a great time visiting the Longboat area and fishing with Captain Jason. We caught more fish than we could eat. Kayak fishing is a great way to see the Mangrove forests and beautiful clear waters. We could see the fish as we paddled through the narrow openings of the Mangroves. Jason's kayaks were easy to operate and if you have ever been kayaking, you will appreciate the rudders that keep the boat straight. His equipment was top notch. I went down to visit a friend in Clearwater and he booked us a trip with Jason. I had limited saltwater experience but Jason made me feel right at home. The trip itself was an adventure but on top of that he put us on fish with out any problem. He shared the whole experience from bait, all the way up to the catch. I have been fishing with Jason twice. The first time we were fishing the flats on kayaks. We tossed spoons, jerk baits and top water lures for reds and trout. We finished the day with several nice fish all caught and released. The second time I went with a group of friends and we went to some nearshore reefs. We targeted hogfish, grouper and snapper.
