We recently purchased a JMC Home. We heard everyone talking about how the quality of the homes were much better than any other homes in the area. When looking at a model home, these are put together very well. This is how they hook you! When you buy a regular home with no upgrades, it's literally like any other home, but you're paying much more! Dave was amazing and I have nothing negative to say about him. He was always helpful and professional. We did our first initial walk through. This was a real eye opener of how things are thrown together and the quality control of making sure the house was ready for move in does not happen. You would think when purchasing a residence that their employees would have walked the residence and made sure everything was damn near perfect and ready for move in. Not the case! There were broken titles on the house, paint noticeably thin on the walls, shutters broken, spackle around windows falling apart, base boards not matching, issues with the wood trim outside, on and on. We blue tapped the house like crazy. Was so disappointed. We were told these things would be fixed by the final walk through. Final walk through, only a few things had been fixed. When I asked Miguel and Jesse about why they weren't fixed yet, they kind of shrugged it off and blamed it on the third party contractors they hire. Or they simply played it off like we have a year to have it fixed! I shouldn't have to move into my house and have someone come out and fix an issue that was already brought to their attention twice! When you point things out to repair they literally use a paint brush and spot places so it's obvious and doesn't blend. They used goof off for almost every fix, the seal on the garage was warped, Miguel just shoved some pieces in the rubber to make it expand instead having it replaced, and things like eaves were never repaired. Was told they come in and clean the house prior to move in. Nope! Absolutely filthy and dusty. The appliances are on the cheaper side. The doors and kitchen lights are already having issues and it's only been two weeks. Above the fireplace they have the hookup for tv, but there's no stud to hang it in the middle so the tv is offset. Then the real kicker on top of all this! There is not proper drain from the back yard to the front yard. So when we hired a landscaper they had to do the best they could to get it to drain to the front. Miguel being nosy walking around had the audacity to tell our landscaper to make sure it didn't drain in our neighbors yards. When my landscaper mentioned how they short cut the drain, Miguel knew this and said it cost money. So you charge approximately 100k more on your house and they can't even properly run drains to the front. Not good! Oh and let's not forget to mention Shane! He's a reach peach! I brought toilet paper to the house since the walk throughs take anywhere from 2-4 hours and there's no bathrooms near by. Plus I'm a woman who had just recently had a baby. Immediately upon walking up the garage, Shane rudely asks if I'm ready to move in. I told him I was, thinking he was being nice and sincere, not the case. Then he rudely tells me I'm not allowed to bring anything in the house until it closes. It's literally toilet paper to go pee. Just unbelievably rude! Even Jesse was apologetic for Shane's attitude! Honestly the purchasing of the home is easy, but the rest is horrible! Knowing what I know now and how this house is, I would have never purchased it and kept looking. Really disappointed! read more

The quality assurance is beyond lacking. If you buy one of their homes, get ready to fight over any single thing that needs to be repaired. We had issues with nearly everything and they only repaired less than half of the problems. Oh, they will tell you they will rectify it but then there is ZERO follow through. In fact, they had "repaired" something we didn't even ask for... Well, let's just say, it here was no repair to be done. Instead they filled in mortar between the fascia stones for no reason at all. That shouldn't ever be done; so it looked horrible and no way to rectify it other than redoing the entire pillars. Insult to injury, they left the job half finished in the end. That issue doesn't even scratch the surface. I wish I was joking, but I'm not. I've purchased from Centex and Pacific Standard before and never had such immense quality issues and such lack of care post sale. Do not buy from these jokers unless you like chasing repairs they will delay or deny within your warranty period. You will very likely regret it. read more

Jesse at JMC Homes (Inspiration) in Roseville is outstanding. I would give him five stars. Jesse was highly engaging, informative and friendly. We loved his energy. He treated us the same as any other prospective buyer whereas other "subdivisions" of JMC Homes did not. He asked meaningful questions to learn what we were looking for. I liked how highly Jesse spoke of the builder and I also thought the interior design is phenomenal. I loved the inclusive design choices. Our experience with Sentinel was not as positive. The sales person (older woman) was not engaging and I felt as though I had to work harder to engage her and get information from her although she seemed to be engaging with another prospective buyer. She did mention that she had a JMC Home and told us how large her lot was. She also spoke highly of the builder and took it a step further to talk about how much the builder's family owned within Roseville. I thought that time could have been better spent learning what we were looking for as buyers. It most definitely felt as though we were being profiled like she did not think we were serious or could afford to purchase. For those reasons, I would rate a zero but averaging out to a three rating due to Jesse. However, we were done at that point after our experience with her. read more

2nd review for JMC however this is for the 1 year "fit and finish warranty" and our experience with Robert Trevizo. Robert showed up on time, walked me through all my concerns and even gave me advice on how to maintain the quality of our home. We only have very minor/cosmetic repairs needed and he scheduled and followed through within a few weeks. My family just purchased a JMC home in Rocklin area. We used to think that JMC's standard and quality are higher than other builders in the area. However, after we moved in and several improper installation and issues were found within 30 days. When JMC representatives came in and they intentionally unwilling to repair any of these issues. They basically just insisted that every issue isn't an issue and tried to minimize the repairs. So the 30-day warranty basically is useless and pointless. When we purchased a new home with Lennar and found some quality issues inside our house, they admitted that it was their fault and attempted to repair and fix the issues. We understand that no builders can build a perfect new home. Very negative experience with their post-sale service. Will no longer consider JMC moving forward. If you're looking for a JMC home, just cross fingers after the closing. read more

Love our new home! Thoughtful layout, dream kitchen, spacious master bath with dual shower heads and all one story neighborhood is why we picked JMC over the others being built near by. Love the high ceilings, extra tall doors, finished garage and California room! Ours had the 'everythings included' package which has its plus and minuses. It has a lot included in the price like nice consistent flooring from front door to back slider, nice finishes, cabinet pulls, pendent lights, ceiling fans, fireplace mantel, cabinets and shelving in the laundry. Almost everything in the models really is included unlike other builders. We are still discovering little surprises like every outlet is child proof! The down side to this is that you can only pick from a few predetermined combinations of color/tile/carpet packages so if you like the cabinets from one and the tile from another, too bad. Also the exterior elevation is determined by the builder per lot, so if you want the 'farmhouse' elevation, too bad. They take good care of you after purchase though with follow up visits, checking that each little scrape or crack you find is fixed. As far as getting into the home, Debbie Powers made it a breeze! She patiently guided us through every step, sent us updates and reminders and always responded to our every question instantly (5 stars for Debbie!). The only reason we give 4 stars was a small crack in the driveway they refused to fix, the plumber that came out was not at all polite and the grading of the yard. All the downspouts just run a couple feet out into the yard to gurgle up and make huge puddles of standing water everywhere! When asked they said it's some California rule about not wasting water down sewers or something like that. That sounds sketch and either way the yard wasn't graded to let that run off down the gravel they have on the sides of the house, there were puddles of clay and water, just a huge mess and mosquito breeding ground so we had to pay a landscaper to trench a drainage line and connect all the spouts to run to the street. Still, after 3 months here, we love the home overall and I would recommend JMC to anyone, just caution them to set aside a little money to fix the drainage issue. read more

We've lived in our JMC home for 16 yrs. It's in a good location, good insulation and keeps cool during the summers, but does have quirky things like taller than normal kitchen cabinets (not great for 5' 3" people either), lots of debris left in gutters & in dirt beds that align home (we planted a garden and found a ton of things), trees planted in a foot of dirt and not planted properly, they chose a smaller A/C unit for the size of our house and cheap windows difficult to open (upstairs playroom) and where they placed the sprinkler water lines outside was sloppy. When we had a BBQ fire, the fire dept knocked 2 of the water spickets causing a flood in our backyard. We had no idea that happened until we receive a $350 water bill. I've checked our neighbors homes with same house design and the water lines are placed behind a house wall where it couldn't be hit or damaged. Maybe because our house was the last to be built so they cut corners? The kicker was when we called 911, an ambulance was sent and they couldn't get their gurney through the garage house door as JMC design causes the garage door & laundry door to overlap each other and thus can't open as wide. They would have to go through the front door. 2nd problem is their home is not conducive to people in wheel chairs. My daughter needed a wheel chair, and the chair wouldn't fit through the sliding glass door to get to the backyard, the hallway from laundry room to kitchen is too narrow and the wheel chair wouldn't even fit to go into the downstairs bathroom doorway. What the heck! Are these not building code standards? For these reasons, I wouldn't recommend a JMC home. read more

The cheapest cabinets amd drawers are installed in Sagebrook homes. And the are no options to upgrade. Drawer slides breaking, slides sticking. A 700K house, shouldn't you expect at least better than IKEA? I would wish for IKEA at this point . We purchased a home in the Whitney Ranch community just 6 months ago. So far, most of the personnels I've dealt with are very competent at their job. But from my experience it appears that they are hiring cheap labor to build their home. It's a shame as they have some very beautiful homes in amazing locations. Within 6 months of ownership, we have experienced two separate water intrusions. As a results, we have not been able to enjoy our master suit and was forced to live in my study. During the repairs, I've been taking time off work to be home for the repairs. The first leak took 3 months to fully repair due to items being unavailable. The second leak is still being repaired and we are still in my study room. If you are looking for a home in the Whitney Ranch community, please save yourself from headaches and find another builder. PS we also had a JMC home in roseville which had a pipe burst and had a massive water damage. read more

We've purchased 4 new home constructions in the past 20 yrs ranging from a private construction company to KB Homes and Lennar. This is our first JMC home and boy we wish we didn't. First off...they don't allow you to have a pre-inspection completed. Why? They just don't 2nd..expect to have tons of problems from crappy appliances to poor quality hidden behind clear site 3rd...they don't give a crap about you or anything. They don't honor their warranty and like to mask problems by forcing vendors to lie about a problem. 4th...service is worse than Walmart. They don't respond to your requests for weeks and don't show up for scheduled appointments. I wish we went with anyone else besides JMC. KB was pretty bad but at least they have good customer service. read more

I will say that I thought the purchase process was pretty easy. I was a little disappointed that you could not make any changes to the set finishes. My issue is with the construction and finish work in my home. The main issue that I have is the shower pan in the master bedroom. It was not set properly at the time it was installed. There was movement in the pan because of this. I reported the issue to customer service and someone came out to look at it. The customer service representative walked on the shower pan without shoe covers. He was wearing black shoes with black rubber soles which has now stained the service. After having several visits with customer service and plumbers JMC had a plumber come out to drill holes in the pan and fill the space underneath to stop the movement. After this was done the stains from the shoes and toolboxes etc. are still visible. I submitted another customer service request and the representative came out and tried to clean the surface. I asked him what he was using and he said Acetone. Now the surface of the shower pan is destroyed. My husband and I submitted a third request and the report came back that it is homeowner damage. I looked into filing for mediation but the cost is prohibitive. In addition the HVAC unit was leaking and it turned out they didn't connect the hoses properly and they need to be reversed. The drywall has issues with visible seams which I was told they can not correct. The paint is of very low quality. When we first moved in I set a picture frame on the window and it damaged the paint. I reported this but got no response. This company talks about their high quality construction but doesn't follow through. I was so happy to find a local company but I am so disappointed by the results. read more

Continuing to live in JMC now less than 3 years old- discovered missing roof gable vent, they did add additional vent that didn't get installed during build. Over the summer this home started having electrical issues with GFI tripping three separate breakers, lights flashed in kitchen for no apparent reason. All GFIs are located in garage or outside the house in the boxes. Trying to find the GFIs was a challenge as the boxes are not clearly labeled. During last 6 months been in the electrical boxes more that prior homes which was never. Shameful construction!!!! read more

I spoke to Keen at "The Walk" in Rocklin a few weeks ago. He said he would take a contingency offer and mentioned that if I used his "recommended " lender, that I would receive a $2500 credit on closing costs. I contacted his lender and was not impressed. He seemed inexperienced and called way too often, just to "check in". I decided to use a lender that I have used in the past, as he advised he would match the $2500 incentive. I went back to The Walk and told Keen I was using a different lender. His demeanor completely changed. And the contingency he said he would accept? That was still ok as long as he did not receive another offer that had no contingency. In that case, I would get BUMPED. Beware of Keen at The Walk in Rocklin. If you do not use his lender, then he clearly doesn't want to sell you a JMC home. read more

JMC homes has horrible customer service people answering the phone. Rude and nasty. Customer service hangs up on you so I called "John Mourier" and he says he has "F*ing nothing to do with JMC construction" and tells me to "F*ing loose his number". I really appreciate his screaming over the phone as my 5 year old was listening. Funny he says that because his name is John Mourier and his number was saved after I called customer service for JMC. I'm not that dumb. Prior to this phone call, customer service hangs up on me when attempting to collect all kinds of personal information and I decide to refuse. Don't waste your time with them. When they get your $200K of profit, it's hard for them to nicely service your needs. read more

Debbie Powers is simply the best agent/sales associate I have worked with in buying a new home. She explained everything up front, no surprises. There was never something she offered that was not so, or was not honored, and we never felt pressure to sign papers. I cannot say the same for other builders in my experience in either a purchase, or in the process of a purchase. She actually wrote an offer on our behalf to the builder, which resulted in some really nice upgrades being included in the price of the home. I must have visited her twice a week during the build, and she was always patient and happy to see us. She is simply one of a kind in her industry, a genuine good soul. We went with Paramount, their preferred lender, and I am really glad we did. Chena Blair walked with us each step of the way and worked really hard to ensure we closed on time. Having experienced selling a home where the buyer's lender cannot get their act together, I know the frustration (and cost) of not closing on time, I really appreciate her professionalism to get things done. I100% recommend her. Regarding the purchase, I am really happy with the quality and price of the home. The house is market price, and having looked at about 100 houses while shopping I cannot agree that JMC homes are overpriced. The market sets the price, and as I said, JMC threw in some really great upgrades for the base price of the home. Aside from that, JMC includes quality blinds in the price of the home. I have bought new construction before, and builders do not usually install blinds unless you pay for them. I nearly bought a new construction in Curtis Park from a builder whom I will not name ( I am sure you can find out rather easily) and it was a night and day difference. Every upgrade, and I mean EVERY upgrade, came with a high cost. That was simply not the case with JMC. Perhaps having shopped at nearly every builder made me really appreciate the house and buying experience. I would 100% do it again. read more

Purchasing has been a very horrendous experience. We picked the Excelsior community. From day one, there was little to no communication regarding what was going on with construction. If it wasn't for our lender, we would have never known about any of the progression that was taken place. Secondly, there has been so many issues with construction, that we no longer trust the quality of the home. For example, our cabinets were damaged, window damaged, a great amount of debris found in the gutter, and dishwasher installed incorrectly. Only the dishwasher was fixed. Thirdly, we have not been able to receive mail because USPS has stated that they did not follow the correct process to prevent them from holding our mail. read more

I have cracking/peeling paint under the eaves of my Roseville Sentinel home. I have contacted the JMC "Care Team" three times over the past two months with no response...so much for the promised 24 hour return call, and high quality product/service! When i "verbally" chatted with the paint crew...they claimed it was poor quality wood. When i chattef with a JMC employee (that didnt want to be named), he said that JMC management just doesnt want to take care of it. The strange thing is that other homes built recently around the time mine was built, and had "white" paint used under their eaves, were repainted/repaired. But JMC doesnt want to fix the same issue i have as other Sentinel homeowners, because my eaves were painted a different color other than white. How petty can they be? Whether it is poor quality white (or other color) paint, or poor quality wood...back your product and fix the problem!!! Why take advantage of your buyers, especially a diasabled vet?? read more

Overall, we like the home, and the layout. However, we had and currently have items that needed correction/repair. This is not that unusual, as we have had some issues with the other three brand new homes we have purchased in the past. Our JMC customer care representative (Jared Smith), to this point, has been fantastic in staying on top of getting all the repairs completed, keeping us informed, and exhibiting a high level of professionalism. I want to share with you my experience yesterday June 7th 2022 with the Customer Care team. At 6:45 am I discovered a section of wall that was discolored and wet in my garage directly underneath the tankless water heater, the concrete was wet as well. I called JMC corporate line and spoke to Leslie at 8:00 am when they opened and explained what was going on and she transferred me to customer care. I got to someone's voicemail so I called back and said this is important and I need to speak to someone now as the leak was on going. She connected me to Damon and I explained the situation and he said he would call me back in a few minutes. He called me within 10 minutes and said a plumber would be here shortly. The plumber ( Alfonzo ) showed up within 25 minutes and began the search for the leak. He removed a number of sections of the sheet rock until he found the problem which was a staple that had punctured the water line in the wall which according to him was from the stucco installation approx two years ago and had become unsealed over time. He had to disconnect the water and gas lines and remove the water heater. He replaced the section of PVC and called the sheet rockers to come over and repair the wall which they did very quickly and then he put everything back together and turned on the water to our delight. Initially we thought we would be without water for at least 24 hours while the needed trades did their thing for this three tier repair but by 2:00pm the same day it was all done. I can't thank Damon, Leslie and Alfonzo enough for this very well coordinated attack on solving this problem before it got very bad.
