The guy took my number, never called. I called back in a few days, spoke to another person who apologized for no call back and again took my number and said he'd call. Few weeks went by, still NO call! Did they think I wasnt serious? Maybe they're not aware that there are other places who're more than happy to have our business. We purchased and installed Vinyl Plank Floors from this place at the end of 2019. 3 years later the floor started cracking, chucks started to come off, then the edges started bubbling. The owner came saw the damage, gave me the excuse that the manufacture had to check the floors, and few call of yes it will happen and nothing happened, a year later and nobody is taking responsibility. We paid over $7K and these floors didn't last more than two years. And nobody wants to honor their warranty. DO NOT BUY HERE they give you the round around and do nothing. Carlos was wonderful to work with, when I needed to replace my old yukky carpeting! After I told him I was looking for vinyl, he made some suggestions and gave me samples to bring home and consider. After going back and forth for several weeks, and getting other bids for the flooring, I decided I could do no better than Cal-Carpets and Carlos! He gave me a delivery date of two weeks away, which I fully expected to be extended, due to Covid, etc. But it was here exactly on that day, and the installation crew were every bit as good as Carlos said they were. Pulled up California carpets floor last year and guess what?? Slab was dry as a bone. In fact the whole concrete slab was dry. Calif Carpets expert inspection was bogus with their water intrusion diagnosis. Verdict was poor install, not enough adhesive and incorrect application. New floor with correct vapor barrier and glue along with appropriate slab prep is beautiful with no problems whatsoever after a year. Carpet installers were completely rushed which meant they did not do a good job. We were told it would be a 2 day job but the installers insisted on one day. Our wood floor was damaged by the installers (mind you, we had moved all the furniture before hand) and after complaining to California Carpets they sent an incompetent repair guy. We had to stop him in the middle of the repair and ask him to leave, it was so bad. After phone calls, we received compensation for the repair, thankfully. Fast forward a few years and we had a stain on the carpet that wasn't coming out. We contacted the brand (Shaw) and they said we could submit a claim for stain warranty through the company we purchased and installed with. I spoke with Daniel at California Carpets who seemed completely unaware of this process but took all my information and said he would submit the warranty claim. Never heard back from him or California Carpets again. They don't really seem to care about their customers after the sale. I would not recommend California Carpets due to the insufficient install (bunching carpet in several rooms), damage during install, rushed install and poor customer service. read more

My husband and I had just purchased a new build, but we had skimped on the flooring because the builder's rates seemed way too high. We had installed a laminate that was close to our "dream hardwood", and one of the free default carpet options. To our surprise, the laminate actually looked amazing, but the carpet definitely would not have worn up well under the feet of our family with three young children. We contacted a few flooring places, but were most impressed with California Carpets & Design. Nathan came to our house to take measurements. Since we already knew which laminate we wanted, we just had to go to their warehouse to pick a carpet. Chris was in the warehouse when we went and gave a great recommendation for carpet, that was around the price range we were looking for but oh-so-soft. Although their quote was higher than a few other ones we had received, we felt much more confident in their work. When the other contractor raised issues and made them seem like a big deal, a quick email to Nathan easily clarified anything. Their price is inclusive of tear-out, removal of baseboards, install, and reinstallation of the baseboards. They also repainted bits that got a bit scuffed up. Long Version: We remodeled our house and unexpectedly needed to find carpet for our bedrooms in a very short time frame. After a totally unproductive trip to Home Depot and Lowes, I frantically called California Carpets. The lady who answered ( I wish I remembered her name!!) was super helpful, reassuring, and patient with all of my novice questions. When I told her I was on my way, she made sure to have some things ready for me to look at when I arrived. She even helped to entertain my toddler so that I could look around. There was a wonderful selection of flooring at a variety of price points. Fifteen minutes later, I had a sample book with a bunch of great colors that fit our small budget and a measuring appointment set up for the next business day. After we picked our carpet and scheduled installation, there was plenty of follow up and everything happened right on schedule. I was looking for a carpet remnant for my 3rd car garage that we converted into a room. The next day I swung by the showroom, which had a very clean set up with tons of flooring options. Don't do business here. They don't stand behind their product. Customer service is bad. Gary sold us our engineered wood floors 9 years ago. I feel if he was still there he would be able to help us. There is a guy there named Carlos. He could give a rip about our flooring. They had their own people come out and do a 3 hour inspection. Before they would install they said they had to do a moisture check which cost us an additional $800. Since day 1, the edges were peaking. We now have to replace 1,200 sq ft. Thanks California Carpet. I recommend friends and family to Carpet One or S&G. They definitely stand by their produc We had an independent review not one paid by you there are currently no leaks or water - yes there is a section damaged by water but the rest of the floors through out the house are delaminating with the clear coat coming apart and boards coming apart which have nothing to do with moisture. From independent floor experts the boards are faulty. We'll just move on and call it a lesson learned read more
