Never any lies, just complete honesty. Once he does get to looking it over (which only takes a couple of hours or so), he calls you to let you know what he sees and what repairs he recommends. He never gets started on anything without letting you know beforehand, which I deeply appreciate. He'll sometimes show you the problem himself. He gives you an estimate on the cost right there and then too, and it's always similar to or even lower than what other mechanics would offer. Again, he NEVER does a repair without you knowing about it and agreeing to it first, and he's not at all pushy. The repairs are always spot on, more than affordable for what he sometimes has to do to attack the problem, and John is always true to his word. I've come to Mineola Auto Care multiple times, and I've always received stellar service. I go out of my way to come here because I know I can completely trust their work. John is very genuine and kind - he even took the time to write me a list of things to watch out for and look for in my car. It's this above and beyond service that ought to earn them way more than 5 stars, but 5 will have to do for now. Needless to say, HIGHLY recommend!

While I was waiting, I noticed the employees standing around talking and the owner even came out to ride an electric skateboard in the front of the shop, so I politely asked if the technician had finished the oil change on the car ahead of me. Instead of answering my question professionally, the manager/owner told me I could "stay or go." I found his response dismissive and unprofessional. As a customer, I was simply trying to understand how much longer the wait would be. A little courtesy and communication go a long way, but I didn't receive either during my visit. Based on this experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this shop. I went to Central Valley Auto Repair which is three blocks down on 234 N. Central Ave. Better service.
