My wife and I decided to try jojo's restaurant last night, 12-18-2020. We both ordered their Ribeye, medium rare, no sides because I'm on a special diet and don't eat processed foods. The ribeyes came out quick however upon arriving we noticed a slight smell of something off. Like a heavy Worcestershire sauce or some kind of marinade. First bite of the ribeye and we could taste the Worcestershire sauce, as if the meat soaked in it for hours. Within a couple bites more I started getting spoiled meat flavors and about gagged. When I called the waitress over, (a extremely lovely, helpful young lady), I asked about the "marinade" that was not mentioned on the menu nor by her when we ordered. The waitress was surprised and explained that is was NOT common practice to marinade their ribeyes but the owner was there and she'd go ask about it. Well, the waitress came back after a fast conversation with the lady setting two tables away. "That is the owner", she said, with a look of embarrassment. It seems the owner of JoJo's didn't have the time to address her kitchen soaking their ribeyes in Worcestershire sauce to mask the fact the meat was spoiled!!! Not to mention she offered NO resolution nor did she even investigate or acknowledge our concerns about being served a $30 spoiled ribeye!! Gross food, horrible lack of responsibility from the owner and obviously ZERO quality control. In short,,, If you like spending $30 per ribeye, soaked in Worcestershire sauce to mask the fact the meat is spoiled, you're in luck, you can get it at JoJo's!!! And the fact the owner did NOTHING to make things right! No apology, offer to replace or even take it off the bill solidified us never supporting them again. (Over 3/4 of the steaks were uneaten). Update,,, Wife and I both ended up sick with food poisoning within hours of leaving, confirming the sleazy behavior of JoJo's serving tainted meat! read more

Jojos is right in the white river and the catfish is delicious! They have a salad bar! Great place to take the family.

We came here one day for lunch and got the catfish fillet and some hush puppies the catfish was good it could be improved a lot if the tarter sauce didnt have a vinegar taste to it. i was eating the catfish with out sauce because i couldnt stand the taste of the tarter sauce. other then that it was good but nothing special. The inside is okay, it has the cheap banquet chairs and tables and not much decoration. The catfish was pretty good. Not the best I have had more to an okay. Hush puppies were good, the tarter sauce had a strange taste like vinegar or something. Food was just okay, not really anything special. read more

My fiancé and I were starving after spending the morning at Loco Ropes. Normally we always have something happen with our order anywhere we go but this was perfect. We got exactly what we ordered and the food was so good! All the batter was perfectly crispy. He doesn't like catfish but even my fiancé thought these were some good fillets. Also... you get so much food. Don't even worry about leaving hungry. Will come again. read more

Excellent fried catfish! As mentioned by the other reviewer, they serve you hushpuppies, pintos, and pickled green tomatoes while you wait for your entree. My wife liked the pickled tomatoes so much that we bought a jar to take home. Our waitress, Keele, was the best and the food was to die for. It was seriously the best meal we had on our trip to Arkansas. The restaurant also has a great view of the White River. Don't miss it. read more

We saw the signs for Jo Jo's and decided to give it a try. Boy were we NOT disappointed! Being from south Louisiana, we are sometimes disappointed when he hear "worlds finest" in association with any fish dish but Jo Jo's certainly deserves that title! Large, well seasoned catfish is the mainstay of their menu but that's not the only thing that makes the meal great. I've never seen so many SIDES, with one meal! You get pinto beans, tomato relish, hush puppies, coleslaw, and either baked potatoes or fries! If you think you can eat 4 pieces of fish, order 2, because you'll be full of delicious sides before your meal ever comes out!! The pinto beans with a piece of the tomato relish on each bite is OH SO delicious! I could have just eaten the sides and had a good meal! The service was great, with our waitress refilling my delicious sweet tea numerous times. I can't say enough good about this place! OH, and did I mention it's on the beautiful White River. I have to say that I have never had French fries as good as these in all my 58 years. The catfish was good, the hush puppies were out of this world, the Cole slaw good too. My husband got pork chops and sweet potato fries and he also thought they were fantastic. We took a piece of chocolate pie to go and, well, it was fabulous too. Best food I've had in a restaurant for a long time. If we are ever back in this area, I'll eat here again, it's a promise. read more

Southern fried catfish joint with southern fixings to boot! Jojo's lunch specials are hard to beat, three pieces of fried catfish, fries, hush puppies, beans and tomato relish for around $10. Beans and tomato relish are the first course. The tomato relish uses green tomatoes in a slightly spicy pickle brine. Wow they are good. The beans are slow cooked with a little bit of ham to season them while they cook. Of course you can never go wrong with hush puppies, they bring them to your table like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Main course doesn't disappoint, light breaded catfish with just a little crisp to them. Good food with a great view of the river. read more

Stopped here after visiting the caverns. Wait staff was very friendly. The place was clean. It's right on the White River. I had a grilled shrimp skewer with French fries. The shrimp was Ok. Someone else ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was ok. I wouldn't make a special trip though for that stuff. I can't comment on any of the other things on the menu though. read more

We are travelers. Just went to awesome Blanchard Springs Caverns. We were starving so we stopped here. Not really sure why anyone would give this place more than 2 stars. The catfish is farm raised, not local or wild caught. Catfish has basically no flavor. Hush puppies pretty good. Fish pieces, according to waitress, are 5 ounce filets cut in half. Restaurant is in the White River, which is nice. Eat here only if you need to fill your stomache. Perhaps sandwiches are better, but we had their central menu item, and thus no reason to think they would be. Wait staff pleasant. Though several staff just sitting around. Prompt service. Cool place. Had a great time with the whole family. Atmosphere was wonderful. The view of the river was beautiful bad the food was delicious. But don't eat too much. You are greeted with the best hush puppies. They are great. The fried dill pickles are super and he fried mushrooms are good too. I had he 2 piece catfish dinner. The staff was friendly and service was good. Pickled green tomatoes, pinto beans and tons of hush puppies were all good. The catfish is farm raised and you can get grilled or fried. I had fried and found them a bit bland and corn flour tasting. The fries are seasoned and were good. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and the local visitors center as the best place to eat locally. Too much food - I wish I would have tried the two piece with one grilled and one fried. Overall not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. read more

Such a great find! We were headed to the brick oven place and this nice man at the candy store in town recommended Jo Jo's. Worth the jaunt, it's a little out of town, but has a great setting for a little fishing town. They serve This "tomato relish" that is complimentary and with a bowl of pinto beans and a big bowl of fresh hush puppies. I could have stopped there. It's basically green tomatoes that are sweet and pickled. Delicious. The catfish was clean tasting and good size portions. The tartar sauce is homemade and some of the best I have ever had. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I should add it was cheap to go along with it. No booze though as it is a dry county, but it didn't matter. Worth it!!! read more

Jo Jo's Never disappoints. The Staff is Always kind. I have been going here since 2007 and Its always Good. The fish n hush puppies & beans are Great. Salad bar is Always fresh with lots of options. The Prices are Good especially for all you get. There is something for everyone. We have had the chicken strips & Steak Good as well. You won't leave hungry or disappointed. The view is Beautiful! Visited on vacation and food was excellent I had the catfish and clam strips both were great it was fried perfect and the tartar sauce was home made and fresh. My wife had the fried shrimp and it was cooked perfectly also, although the cocktail sauce was prepackaged. read more

I have been going to this restaurant a couple times a year since it opened, long before the canoe salad bar. Always considered it the best place in the country for catfish and hush puppies, a clean and friendly place to gather and eat good food with family and friends. What happened? 2weeks ago my family ordered 4 dinners to go, which took no more than 10 min. to get back to our dinner table, so very disappointed, the fish were tiny pieces surrounded by to much batter over cooked coating. Most disappointing was the hush puppies, dry, over.cooked and a stale taste. JoJos hamburgers have always been a good go to for those who don't eat catfish, but the burgers in this order were made with a dry grissely patty. Hope this is just a bad day and not a casualty of cost saving cut backs to a lesser quality ingredient and cook staff! read more

A little pricey for catfish but the staff and view of White River make up for the price. Is our goto fish place in this area. Remember this is a fishing (trout and smallmouth) resort.
